  • The Razer Blade 14 is the perfect example of a 2024 laptop. Less design changes, more "AI", a Ryzen 8000 series CPU, competitors like the Zephyrus G14 catching up performance updates that go nowhere. But, since they were so far ahead, this still might mean the Razer Blade 14 is one of the best 14" gaming laptops on the planet....or....

I have a 2019 Razer Blade 15 Advanced in Mercury White (i7 9750H, RTX 2070M), and have been happy with it for the most part. It consistently seems to require the power adapter and runs very hot on CPU, but the keyboard, screen and overall performance have held up well over time. It got me through college, and is still one of my favorite keyboards to type on.

I have exact same Razer Blade Advanced and his on his 4th battery, I replaced the battery every 1.5 years due to bloat. I replaced thermal paste every time I replace the battery. It runs hot mid 80C for the CPU and low 80C for the GPU. And lastly speaker plastic grill is peeled off, its not metal as latest models which is shame. But it gets the job done I play dota 2 mostly. I'm never buying another razer laptop due to battery bloat and other issues because I think they never listen their customers and they never sell parts, all they ask is send back for repairs which is hard for me because there's no Razer service center in my country, so I have to ship to another country for repairs and which costs a lot on top of their high repair cost.

I own a Razer Blade 18, that I won, and I have had issues with it freezing often. When it doesn't freeze, it is a solid computer that I have opted to use for programing (on a learning level) and similar. I found that it looks amazing with video and the sound is great. But it bothers me a great deal with how much the surface smudges up. The Blade 18 is very much a mobile desktop, and while it is good for education and video anything demanding will require a constant power source. My Blade 18 has the RTX 4060 in it which I noticed they don't do anymore, and they also don't offer it with less than 32gb of memory and mine came with 16GB...

Hmm, I am still looking at it as I am looking for a power upgrade from a Surface Laptop studio which is bulky and a pain to travel with. The g14looks nice but I want something sturdier. Plus I am a fan of the grey edition that Razor dropped for the Razer Blade 14 which doesn't scream gaming and I can use in a more professional setting.
I'm mulling it over as I need something that is light, can be sturdy in a backpack and can run 3D rendering. I can't go larger than a 14 as I can't then fit it in my bag. I am not to worried about the keyboard because I have a station at my office where I plug my laptop in and have a nice bluetooth keyboard and mouse and monitor. But when I need to travel for work frequently, I would like something nice.

I heard LPCAMM2 will be mainly for data centres to start with. I expect they will work down to consumers in a few years. But in the interim, we will continue moving more to soldered RAM in ultrabooks, as data says soldered RAM reliability is 99%+. The benefits of soldering easily outweigh the benefits of modular for most of the ultrabook user base. Gaming laptops will hopefully keep to modular although thin and light ones not so much.

I'm using the 2019 Blade 13 with the 1650. I terms of build quality and durability, i could not be happier. The laptop still turns heads and feels premium in every way except performance. When the time comes, i will buy a Blade 14 without question. I have loved my 13 and used it daily since I bought it. Buying any other brand is no longer an option for me. I am so impressed by how well the black finish holds up.
Why does the extra cost mean nothing to me? because too this day, I still feel no need to buy another laptop, 5 freaking years later. I play games on my desktop, and use my laptop for travel and work. I only require my laptop to be capable of playing games if needed, not my gaming machine. Build quality and durability are the top priority for me. Razer has been outstanding in this regard.

All they have to do is keep it simple as possible, keep costs as logical as possible, that way you can have products they can sit and play with the big boys, and use Android or Windows like Qualcomm’s Snapdragon on Windows?

Heres my take yeah? OLED will always be better. Battery on the Blade is trash in real life application. The keyboard looks nice and imo feels okay, The chassis is just like the MBP and feels great and the trackpad feels good too. The main problem for me with the blades are the speakers, battery life, and Windows in general. Apple with the ARM chip and seamless memory management with OS X just makes the Macbook way better in terms to work management, smooth work, no stutters no lag. I constantly get crashes when I have many things open. On windows in general you might actually need 100gb of memory. Not to mention the sleep mode battery, for those who want to close the shell and leave it to sleep for even 1 day let alone a couple the laptop would die. This feature is so great that you can instantly pick back up ur work with the same desktops u left it at, as opposed to windows. In general these issues cover all windows laptops.
Dont get me wrong Im not a hater of windows I even have a PC that i use for gaming, but thats about it. Mac is way better for everyday use and longevity sorry fanboys.

In my opinion, you'd be utterly bonkers to buy the Razer 14 2024 over the G14 2024. Way more expensive with a worse keyboard, worse speakers and a worse display. The design looks dated compared to the G14 and the build quality is practically identical. Razer have basically changed the CPU and resold last year's product.

Wait wait wait, I've seen some interesting nit picky takes on power cables, but you're seriously complaining about the 90 degree end being reversible? Because you might plug it in and block the ports....Then REVERSE it. hahahaha. It takes literally 1 second, and also, how daft do you need to be to plug it in that way in the first place? The 90 degree power cable was one of those cherry on top features for me when I got a Blade back in 2015, because you plug it in, and it's out of the way.

My number one requirement is what is the difficulty in replacing the keyboard. Almost all of my laptop problems have revolved around failed keys. This laptop I'm using has A,D and X keys that don't work. To replace the keyboard involves complete disassembly and "re-welding" to fix. NEVER AGAIN!! If the laptop's keyboard is not easily replaceable, then the manufacturer can keep it. I don't want it!!!
