- After the rockslide Incident at NH-29, all vehicular movement via Kohima to Dimapur or via Dimapur to Kohima through NH-29 was diverted towards 7th Mile, Shokhuvi which connects Kohima. However, the decision to divert the route has created havoc among the travelers. People traveling through the new diversion route have been facing long congested traffic. Meanwhile, Chumukedima District Administration has assured to solve the problem as soon as possible and to find another alternate route to travel
.

Our state government should learn from this incident that we need a Plan B . Plan B of roads , power supply , water supply , other basic necessities for normal functioning of the state and its citizens.

To reach kohima from 7th mile will cross mahaikam,mhainamtsi,keyivi, henigkunglwa,gaili,punglwa and many other sema village situated under peren district..

Before issues the notice for road division they should have made necessary inspection about the division road. Nagaland is so unprepared and unorganised in every department 👿. Diversion road is so pathetic......

Im from Peren and would like to say that if the naga peopll..nobody cant reach or jump sokhuvi and gaspani to kohima without touching Peren route ok.

7th mile to sokuvi it take 4 to five km only but from sokuvi to mahainamtsi under jalukie town ,it took more than 35 to 40 km .so without Peren road nobody cannot reach kohima in this critical time .
So atleast its good not to bias in this critical situations ,and the reporter ...if you want to be a good reporter than report precisely. what is the reason for you to ignore Peren dist? Can you jump kohima without Peren route?

since the road is narrow via., shukhovi n cause lots of traffic jamed, the government should make one way movement for some time. Alternate movement like on Monday the road should be open for dimapur to Kohima n on Tuesday Kohima to Dimapur.. N so on for the convenient to travel n to avoid traffic jamed in a narrow way.. Just a suggestion
Atleast, Niuland - Zadima there is a route so do get information and update to commuters.

There is no road from sukuvi to medziphema without taking the route of peren and it is a peren road rather than sokuvi road.
Its better to close peren road too so that naga people will jump or fly from sokuvi to medziphema 😂

Initially, 1 dead and 3 injured, later 1 of the injured person succumbed to his injuries, thus, it's 2 dead and 2 injured now.
I hope the concerned MLA of that particular constituency makes sure that the bypass road from shokhuvi to medziphema is made prim and proper for all. It seem to be in a big mess as of now
We do not have a plan b in our state . That's another problem.
From Shokhuvi to Kohima is horrible, took more than 5 -6 hours to reach Kohima yesterday.
Kindly avoid the road to Medziphema from Punglwa, its a hellish ride and it cannot be called a road. Instead take the way to Jharnapani.

With traffic blockage it took us 6-7 hrs
