update, found an old style wooden telescope tripod, and bought some wet plate holders from japan. Also found out 5x7in is compatible with 13x18cm. but since im using wet plates it shouldn't matter as long as I'm using plates big enough to catch the lip on the holder, you can shoot wet plates on anything smooth and flat.
I should probably clarify now that I've done more research, that 8x10 camera I bought is actually a German Ernemann Globus A Model 3 with steel furniture manufactured between 1902 and 1914 with Carl Zeiss Jena Tessar lenses, I would guess that earlier models came with brass furniture and they got cheaper to make as time went on hence the steel furniture. and it's actually a 13x18 camera so I guess I'm kind of screwed being an american with a metric film format.
