  • THIS PIPE MELTED MY FENDER AND LICENSE PLATE HOLDER
    Hey guys,
    In this video I go over the installation of the FMF powercore 4 on my XT. It is a very lightweight alternative to the stock XT pipe weighing in 6 pounds less than stock. It is significantly louder than stock but really wakes up the bike in the lows and mids.

    Hey man, its been a while since i stopped by. Im a big fan of the power core 4s because i love the brap sound it makes. Not too loud, nice and deep rumble. You also get to keep stealth when you want to hooligan!!

    I found that around the slip on section it was leaking just a wee bit. I installed a super heavy duty gear clamp around the slip on and clamped her down tight. No more leak and even sounds better

    Hi! I was curious if in fact your rear fender had burned... I hope not. Thanks for taking your own time to make these XT250 videos, it is really appreciated. I am getting my XT in a few weeks. I road bigger bikes in the past, but now I want something forgiving and fun.

    You left out the most important part. Did it make a significant difference in performance?

    • @phantomshtter

      It's a slip on muffler for a sub 20hp bike, no it doesn't do anything significant other than make more noise.

    Hey I watch the video is great thank you I do have a question before I install the FMF exhaust do I have to wait the allotted 600 mile engine . will that affect anything or can I install it right away cuz I only have 100 miles on it my XT 250 Yamaha. thank you for your advice in this matter

    • @NoOnesWatching0_0
      @NoOnesWatching0_0  7 лет назад +2

      you know what henry, I'm not too sure if it'll make a difference. I would probably do the proper break in first then start adding aftermarket parts, UNLESS.... you have everything in order to do the exhaust mods properly ie intake, fuel programmer, and pipe.

    • @NoOnesWatching0_0
      @NoOnesWatching0_0  2 года назад +1

      Yeah I’m still running the stock header. It’s tough without a fuel controller to justify any mods into intake or exhaust.

      @@NoOnesWatching0_0 I just installed a Beams stainless header this past weekend. I was nervous it wouldn't really fit as its for the Serow/XT250X. But it fit thankfully. I wanted something that will rust less and be more aesthetic with my stainless Delkevic. I know there's no performance boost, but still think its perty to look at 🤩

    could you elaborate on this: "THIS PIPE MELTED MY FENDER AND LICENSE PLATE HOLDER" ? How about the high end performance ? How about drone at highway speeds ? I can't stand drone from loud mufflers during long trips. Was it worth it ?
    Thanks for the vids !

    • @NoOnesWatching0_0
      @NoOnesWatching0_0  7 лет назад +1

      I'll do a follow up video pretty soon, high end performance suffered, I've lost about 5MPH off the top and from what other riders tell me, my bike is incredibly loud especially when riding behind. But on the bike I don't really notice too much drone. I think it's worth it to increase my presence to other drivers and it sounds awesome!!!

    • @NoOnesWatching0_0
      @NoOnesWatching0_0  6 лет назад +1

      +BlackMesaSecurity It did open the bike up, but I think it would do a lot better with a power commander. It's actually a 260z that I've had since highschool, I've put it up for sale to fund the project so it shouldn't be there much longer.

    I just bought one of these before watching you video...and now I'm afraid to install it. Do you have any lessons learned or ideas that could help me prevent melting my fender? I'm seriously debating whether to even keep the thing or return it to Amazon but I could really use the performance enhancement. Anybody have any words of wisdom on this? Thanks in advance!

    • @AceCarleton
      @AceCarleton 5 лет назад +1

      just add large fender washers to the muffler mount to space it further from the frame

    • @Paul-wy2wk
      @Paul-wy2wk 5 лет назад +1

      Andrew Carleton , thanks, I did exactly that and it worked great.

    • @Paul-wy2wk
      @Paul-wy2wk 5 лет назад

      Just wanted to mention that I did add this exhaust and I noted a gain of a small amount of low end power. Top speed with 215 lb rider went from 74 to 80 mph. That said, I don’t typically run greater than 65 for any extended period as the bike is just too light and gets blown around a bit much at higher speeds.

  • @Sparkjumper59

    Poor design if they melt the rear fender. You’d think they’d test their products. Be simple to just angle the exit away from the plastic fender. I wouldn’t buy one.
