This seems to have a similar feel to it as Hunt For The Wilder-people which I really like. The further Taika gets away from love and thunder, the better.
My husband and I were able to see this tonight. They called it an unseen movie. It was worth watching. We loved it. I would watch it again. It was entertaining and kept me excited. Put it this way I wanted to kick the ball around.

Got dragged to this by my soccer obsessed 9 year old and was pleasantly surprised at how good it was! Showcases how beautiful the pacific island culture is and their unique sense of humour. Definitely worth a watch and it’s not a sports movie as such, that’s just the glue that sort of binds the whole story together.

It’s been too damn long since we’ve seen Michael Fassbender, easily become one of my fav actors, he excels at roles even in shit films. Him and James McAvoy singlehandedly carried the young X-Men movies. Glad to see him doing comedy again too, and he’s even playing a dude from my country, though he def just has an Irish accent lol. I mean Fassbender can act opposite himself and be entertaining I can’t wait to see him in this and The Killer.
Hope you enjoy "The Killer" -- absolutely brilliant work from MF. Can't decide if it is a black comedy or something else, but either way, it is truly well done.

I just finished watching this at the cinema and I can say it’s surprisingly good. Something of fresh air from the trash they put out these days. A definite must watch if you’re bored of everything else. Also don’t worry so much about the football theme if you’re not into that. It’s very light hearted and a bit of fun. 7.5/10😊
So this film is like a Reverse Ted Lasso in almost every way, but hopefully on Waititi's hand it is going to be just as much fun. Really enjoyed the trailer. Fingers crossed.
Just saw this yesterday. Spoilers if you haven’t seen it yet. One thing I thought was very well done, was how the daughter’s death wasn’t revealed until almost the end. Personally, I did not pick up at all that the daughter had died but once they reveal it, it makes total sense. The whole time you’re watching Fassbender’s character listen to the voicemails you assume that he has s strained relationship with the daughter because of the divorce, which they do blatantly bring up early in the film. At the end when he breaks down and tells the team how she died it really hits all the more. Personally, I think that was masterfully done.
The movie is funny and entertaining. I love watching Michael Fassbender. And some of the actors who played as the players are easy on the eyes, especially Uli Latukefu (as Nicky) and Ioane Goodhue (as Smiley).
Great to see Michael Fassbender in movies again, looking forward to seeing him in this film and David Fincher's new film "The Killer", which got rave reviews at Venice.

The shame is, Love and Thunder just needed a few tweeks. I wish he had approached it the way he did Ragnarok... but he let the comedy get ahead of the story in Love and Thunder.
