I just Love Jeffery Sachs, First, he is extremely Smart, realistic, practical, and above all very Honest. He is absolutely right. India is not an al

I am from India and work in foreign policy think tank. Yes, Sachs is correct that India is not your ally and here in India we believe that we should not be your ally and by doing so we are allowing the world to have breathing space. If we take more extreme position, it is likely to make China more desperate and thereby a full blowout between US - China much realistic possibility. The world at large is really fed with cold war think and US double game. It supports India' s position and believes what we are doing is showmanship of mature diplomacy.

Jeffrey's position is to live and let live, John's position is US needs to keep going as a global bully. And both are Christians and supposedly God fearing mortals. Go figure but I applaud Jeffrey.

Jeffrey Sachs is an example that represents the delusion of idealism. The realism provides a corrective but the complexity of human behaviour was better recognised by the Greeks. China's behaviour is not as innocent as Sachs would have as believe. That he even peddles China's wanton aggressive behaviour to its century of humiliation serves as a cover. India suffered a millennium of humiliation yet I see none of the school yard bullying China indulges in. American withdrawal from the South China Seas that Sachs advocates will not go unanswered by Japan which will go nuclear. Neither would India feel safer if China achieves the stranglehold of the Indian Ocean. Sachs indulges in feeling good with his Chinese friends. The Greeks recognised that humans are given to reason, appetite and spirit. The appetites of the Chinese are clear in their excesses and for that their spirit demands we should indulge them. The sooner China understands that they will not be indulged, the safer and better would the world be.
