The dress IS beautiful. I absolutely love the diagonal semi-sheer stripe in the sleeves. I sincerely hope the dress is more durable than you fear it is.
I love how humble you are. Whether it be over a mispronunciation or an embarrassing web URL, you acknowledge the mistake and then move forward. You don't make excuses or place blame. If only we all could be like that.
There are dozens of us!! I think people close to me are used to it. But I'll be shopping for groceries or something and have people walk up to me concerned for my well being. Which is sweet...but that is just my face.
Every time, I'm blown away. You are marvelously talented, both as a creator and as a seamstress. But you're an amazing presentor/editor too. I'm so excited for all the wonderful things that lie ahead for you!
I really like the vlogs that are only one project. They are more in depth and easy to follow. I also like seeing the photos of the clothes worn at the end of the video instead of having to chase down the photos in some other dimension! And as always, I'm looking forward to watching your next video.
I love these videos! I took a sewing class in high school which i absolutely loved. I find sewing therapeutic and fun, but havent sewn since then. we used old patterns to make things like shorts or simple dresses and shirts. its also cool to know that actual women used to sew their own clothes like this, and some still do! makes me want to dig out my old sewing machine and patterns from my moms house.
I really love the videos that focus on a single project. And I'm excited to see more 20th century themed projects. The older style projects are great too, but I definitely get more inspired by these as they're easier to bring into everyday wear. The fabrics you find and use end up being so wonderful. Also the Crown and Mrs. Maisel definitely have me wanting to sew all of this type of stuff up! I just need to finish getting my sewing room set up!
I love this video! And I love your commentary. You've really come into your own RUclips style over the past year. Your humor and honesty are refreshing (the heater/trash can mixup, the commentary on this video probably being demonetized, and "resting sad face"). I really love the green coat; I too have a green wool coat and I love it! And even though you weren't pleased with the fabric for the dress, I love how you played with the stripes to make it interesting. I can't wait to see what you come up with next!
I love this outfit! I liked the format of this video and that it was focused on one project. I like seeing lots of your projects in your weekly logs but I think it's nice to go between the different types of videos too! Like always, I'm just excited to see you post anything and I love seeing your creations!! :)
You always amaze me with the outfits that you design. You are such a talented young lady. Now I can use the term young because I was around to wear shirtwaist dresses from the 50's and 60's.
This is the first video of yours that I have watched. What an amazing talent you have. I am in awe and inspired! This was absolutely riveting and I look forward to exploring the rest of your channel. I had written some questions, but they were all answered in the notes! Thanks from Your newest fan.
absolutely stunning young lady, I love your choices in everything, it looks like something Jackie O would wear. You are cute as a button and have beuatiful hair and skin. I LOVE love love seeing how you come to decisions, design and contemplate, it really helps us that are learning from you, see how things come to fruit. Thanks so much, I love it all.
Love this format of video! I do like your weekly progress logs, but I also like this type that just follows one project. I really like this ensemble, especially the hat, and the little peek of the pink fabric inside the coat. Great job!
These videos are my favourite sort of content from you I think! Because I have a fair bit of sewing experience I feel I learn a lot more from watching you talk through your process and problem solving than watching you do the actual construction (although of course I do learn from that too). Also I just wanted to say it's really nice to see someone so relaxed in front of the camera (and behind it, and in voice overs), you seem to be really comfortable and your dry sense of humour comes across really well :)
I really love your sewing vlogs! I'm near legendary for my non-existent sewing/crafting skills and for failing classes for exactly that reason (and for my lacking interest in any of it), but I really really enjoy watching your videos! Seeing your ideas take shape and then seeing the progress is so nice. Keep it up :)
I just love seeing your creativity and how your decisions are made and they may not turn out well but you find a way to fix it and an alternative answer that is sometimes better from your original idea! I wish I could sew like you. What a talent 😍
Bravo Angela your coat and dress I love it and you are one clever young lady and you should be proud with your work I look forward to seeing you make some more outfits 😊😊😊
something you may consider, I do tucks before I place pattern on fabric, so its like working with flat fabric somewhat, just a thought for the pin tucking.
The format of this video is great! Please make more like it. I esp loved the part at the end with you moving around in the outfit. I often wonder how they perform once they’re on you. You can’t get that from a photo.
I love the dress and coat! I've been binging your blogs and just so admire the way your style and skill and confidence has evolved! I'm loving your new vintage clothing shift, I think its just so you
this is my favorite..wish you could make me one in a small..maybe x small..love the whole thing..coat and all..wow i can remember my mom loooking this way...Man she was amazing and a knockout to boot...always in heels..i miss that so much
Hello Angela, This is another stunning creation. A tip about shoes. When buying shoes take the stitching on the shoes in account. The leather will stretch. Stitching will not stretch. It looked like there was stitching around the edge of the shoe, and over the tip. This wil not stretch.
Angela, I enjoy your videos so very much. It's encouraging to see a young woman who loves not only fashion, but to sew and to challenge herself and her skill level. I do have one question. I noticed your deep hem on the dress, but was surprised that it turned out so short. Back in the 1950's our full skirts were almost always a bit longer. Your problem solving is first rate. I am impressed at your skill level and courage when you have to make alternations in your pattern mid-project. Great job!
You make such beautiful pieces. I ❤ your videos. They keep me motivated to continue learning to sew. I made my first dress 1 year ago from scratch and using my own self made pattern. I made some mistakes and this made me feel down about myself considering it was a relatively simple dress. But I watched your videos and they always make me smile. Please continue putting out amazing content. ✌❤
Haya. Another beautiful video. I like the 40s & 50s, so this was lovely to watch. I like all your videos, the thing with watching this video is the outfits are more day to day, where as appose to the historical outfits, you could not really wear them out on your daily routines, such as a 16th century dress to the office, hehe. Just keep doing what you do, all your videos are just wonderful. Thank you for sharing. X
This ensemble is lovely. You inspire me to continue on through problems when I'm making things. Also I hope to get a copy of your McCall pattern and try to make a complete set (need to make the support garment too).
I’m working on a 1950s skirt in Lilac, it’s taking me awhile because I’m also hand embroidering a bunch of daisy on to it. I’m also planning on making a 1950s inspired hat and purse to go with it.
This coat is so dreamy- the fabric choices, colors, and shapes are wonderful.
I can’t believe you are self taught! You are fabulous!
O yes anything 30s or 40s would be so much fun to watch! I'm personally really in to those decades right now, and I find our videos so inspiering!
The dress IS beautiful. I absolutely love the diagonal semi-sheer stripe in the sleeves. I sincerely hope the dress is more durable than you fear it is.
It looks gorgeous- the yellow buttons were definitely the right choice, yellow green and white just seems quintessentially 50’s somehow!
I love how humble you are. Whether it be over a mispronunciation or an embarrassing web URL, you acknowledge the mistake and then move forward. You don't make excuses or place blame. If only we all could be like that.
that button collection has me shook and i must say i think the whole outfit looks amazing together and you suit the 1950s style so much
I admire your skill and your delivery. It is a fantastic ensemble.
I love watching how you problem solve, and how you evolve the pattern over time. You're one of my favourite channels 😊
me too!
I understand your struggle, for I too suffer from resting sad face. Even people who know me well constantly ask me what's wrong.
There are dozens of us!! I think people close to me are used to it. But I'll be shopping for groceries or something and have people walk up to me concerned for my well being. Which is sweet...but that is just my face.
Angela Clayton Same thing happens to me! Love your channel so much.
@@AngelaCostumery I've got that face, too! I can't stand it when people say, "Smile!"
Same here. But interestingly I didn't see your face as sad. It looked thoughtful not sad
Do you mean there are more of "us"?! I thought it was me....as a child I was deep in thought!
Every time, I'm blown away. You are marvelously talented, both as a creator and as a seamstress. But you're an amazing presentor/editor too. I'm so excited for all the wonderful things that lie ahead for you!

Mrs. Maisel is soooo good! I totally think you could walk right on set in this outfit.
I love the wind in your photo shots! It really helps to showcase the volume.
Your box of buttons gives me ideas right now I'm outgrowing my jar
All the top-stitching looks great and I love that floral fabric.
Right before you said sorry for the mess I was admiring how clean and organized everything was.
Very glamorous and chic! Amazing! You are extremely talented and creative with your designs.
Yay! Best thing to turn on my computer to find! I started a new pair of stays this weekend, AND YOUR PATTERN ARRIVED!!!
Amazing! You have a true talent. I have major sewing room envy.
I love these videos! I took a sewing class in high school which i absolutely loved. Love the 1950's, maybe because I was born in the 50's. I remember some of my mom's clothes & hats. Very stylish.
I really love the videos that focus on a single project. And I'm excited to see more 20th century themed projects. The older style projects are great too, but I definitely get more inspired by these as they're easier to bring into everyday wear. The fabrics you find and use end up being so wonderful.

I am absolutely OBSESSED with your videos and this dress 😍 I would pay for this dress pattern 3x over!
I love your positive attitude. Love this outfit!!!
My favorite thing about your work is the detail and dedication you put in. I get so happy every time I see you've posted a new video! Beautiful job!
Adorable dress! One of my favs! If only my closet was cool enough to have a dress like that!
I really like the fabric and buttons you ultimately chose for this project. Very nice job on everything, as always :-)
This is my dream outfit!!!! The 50s are such an iconic fashion decade in my world and I was totally meant to live in that era 😍
You are so artistic a beutiful sewer. My mother used to make all of our cloths when we were little .thank you

I love the coat and pillbox hat! Nice choice on the fabric and color.
You always amaze me with the outfits that you design. You are such a talented young lady. Now I can use the term young because I was around to wear shirtwaist dresses from the 50's and 60's.
That coat!! Wowza!! And such a beautiful bodice on that dress!!
I don't even sew, I just love your work as a history student, absolutely beautiful!
You are so cute and fun to listen too! Thanks for sharing! Your style is so cute
I love the dress and coat. You are an amazing artist. I love watching you create.
Absolutely adorable! You are so talented, please never stop- I live for your videos!
You remind me of the women in Brooklyn movie. You are a professional in anything you do. Love the work you do!
Love it all, but the coat especially is marvelous!
This is the first video of yours that I have watched. What an amazing talent you have. I am in awe and inspired! This was absolutely riveting and I look forward to exploring the rest of your channel. I had written some questions, but they were all answered in the notes! Thanks from Your newest fan.

A tip about shoes. When buying shoes take the stitching on the shoes in account. The leather will stretch. Stitching will not stretch. It looked like there was stitching around the edge of the shoe, and over the tip. This wil not stretch.
your coat definitely inspires me to make one using the blue wool i have laying around!!!

My local Joann's doesn't have your pattern yet. I'll check again soon.. I'm excited for you!!
I fell out of love with sewing some time ago but your videos make me want to sew again!
Amazing work! Thank you for the process video, it was very helpful. You look beautiful in the ensemble.
This ensemble is lovely. You inspire me to continue on through problems when I'm making things. Also I hope to get a copy of your McCall pattern and try to make a complete set (need to make the support garment too).
This is Incredible😍! I need this in my life!
This outfit is so beautiful ❤️ I’m in love honestly
I’m working on a 1950s skirt in Lilac, it’s taking me awhile because I’m also hand embroidering a bunch of daisy on to it. I’m also planning on making a 1950s inspired hat and purse to go with it.
