You sound like you're smiling through a lot of your narration and it's really nice to listen to. I love watching you sew, and the videos where you show your muslin/fitting process have helped me figure out that that's where I get stuck- things don't fit right away and I don't know how to fix it so I give up. I love this series and your channel, love the exploration of older patterns and techniques.
The difference between mediocrity and excellence may be as little as 10%. Re-doing the pocket so that the stripes match, whilst only a little step in itself, takes the quality of the blouse to a whole new level.
This is the best visual explanation I’ve ever seen for bound buttonholes! I had a lightbulb moment watching you do it. Thank you for inadvertently teaching me this!
Angela you are drop dead gorgeous both inside and out! You have to stop putting yourself down, even in a joking way! The magic you create with your sewing machine’s has inspired so many people me included! Keep up the good work! Would love to see where the Vogue sewing pattern cabinet landed! Hint, hint!
I love how a shirt from 70 years ago can still look in fashion now.. I hope you make an effort to wear this shirt its really nice, style and color wise.
I love this blouse! As much as I love the colours and pattern, I understand it could be hard to match other pieces too. But it looks so great with the slacks and dark lipstick!!!!! Gives off a very military vibe 👌👌👌
As awestruck as I am watching you create these garments, I really appreciate it when you break down the steps and add your own tips and explanations why you do things certain ways. Great blouse, great fabric! You look fabulous.
I totally agree with you about the pocket, it looks much better with the stripes matching. The only possible alternative would have been the pocket done across the stripes to match the collar and cuffs. Very nice blouse.
You are adorable and a pretty accomplished seamstress which is lovely and inspiring to see in your generation. I didn't read all the comments so I hope I don't repeat something that has already been mentioned, but I only saw one real inaccuracy: you didn't press your pants and blouse. Especially that front pleat down the leg of the pants. Pressing makes the fit look so sharp and was definitely period-accurate! Great job.
Absolutely love the full look with the trousers and the blouse together! It looks great on you. I do not quite have the figure for it, but darnit I wish I did..
The pattern is lovely and your execution of it was great. I can now see why the bow was added to the design. I could totally see this style of shirt in a light pastel floral print with small or overly large flowers (with ivory buttons with gold accents for some reason lol) Hope you go at this again with the bow for a spring ensemble 😊
I absolutely love the style of this blouse, way more then planned. It looks old-fashioned in a very charming way. And they fit you nicely. The series never fails to lift my mood and I' always learning something.
Thanks for showing how to do those backed button holes - I will be trying this out on a future project. I'm a super new sewer (although have worn and collected vintage for years, so I have an appreciation of construction) Really found it useful to see a different process of button holes on a 'historic' blouse! x
Ah! I loved this video, especially your humorous comments. When you cut the fabric I thought to myself - "isn't she going to fussy cut it?" and THEN later you said it bothered you and so you re-did it to match (both the pockets and the cuffs) LOL. we think the same way. And I think you would look like the pictures if you style your hair that way!
Your unicorns are so magical. That explains how you manage to take us on a trip through time without a Tardis. I loved this series and look forward for what's next. Thanks for all your hard work. It comes through in the finished garments. Beautiful!
i don't know how to sew and i have no idea what you're saying most of the time but you're so charming and talented i can't stop watching your videos and honestly, you made me so curious about sewing and I'm actually considering taking some lessons now.
1) you are definitely prettier than the drawings on the envelope 2) You have inspired me to get back behind the machine and finish all my unfinished projects 3) I love listening to your narration and watching you sew :) you are brilliant
I use weights to hold pattern pieces in place. No damaging holes & tears to my patterns anymore. Try it. Wherever do you find your vintage patterns? I live your tenacity for sewing & recreating history. Keep up the great work!
Oh! Wear it! You look amazing and elegant in this outfit! You've inspired me to try something more tailored with all the button holes, shoulder pads, etc. Stripes matching so nicely. That whole process would have terrified me. A string of pearls would look lovely. Thank you for all you excellent videos.
You elected not to put the bow at the neck. You could make a removable one and I think you would find that you use the top more since it would fit your aesthetic a little better.
You made a complicated blouse look easy ,I agree with Roxanne the blouse would look better with the bow ,unless you had a short neck ,well done anyway xx
I applaud you for being able to follow the instructions and actually complete these vintage patterns. I attempted to make a 1940's 2 pc. swimsuit. Got the top completed but then when I got to the skirted bottom I got so confused at one point...I think I redid the sewing on the crotch area 4 times before I just finally gave up - I think there were several pieces of fabric coming together at this point and I just could not wrap my head around it...lol! One day I will revisit this project. I sooooooo wanted a 40's swimsuit! Really enjoying your videos. You have a wonderful ability to choose appropriate fabrics which I find most difficult to do and oftentimes this can either make or break your project! Keep up the good work.
Thank you for sharing your process. I have followed you for a while, and am impressed with how your skills and understanding of fabric have improved. Good work my dear!
That's a very good paring with the pants, in ww2 women sometimes took there husbands pants because of rationing and tailored them to fit in the spirit of mend and make do era .. spot on ! love your work learning more about tailoring
I have two Advance patterns from the 1940s I inherited from my great grandmother that I have been hesitating to try sewing (entirely due to the bound button holes, tbh)--thanks for inspiring me to look at them again! Maybe I'll try them out!
I wonder if the variation of this blouse with the bow in a bright colour would prove more versatile in your wardrobe.Personally I'm in love with this colour
I get really bothered by non-matching stripes & patterns too. Unless it is deliberate, like at an angle or changing direction. And yes! Lego Arm...or Playmobil. I had loads of both as a kid.
Just a suggestion. I buy drapery linning to make Muslins. I wait til! It goes on sale! $4.00 A metre. It's 60 wide there is a choice of 100% cotton or cotton poly blend. Also comes in white and cream. Much more economical choice,
Thank you Angela for this video. I now know how to do bound buttonholes properly, they look so classy! I am in awe of Your skills and look forward to new uploads. Greetings from New Zealand.
I enjoy your videos immensely...you are beautiful and talented,,your ability to make the outfit and style it with hair and makeup is a wonderful talent, you certainly have found your niche.. Thank you so much for sharing...
Miss Angela You Are every bit as pretty as Any movie star that ever was. Classic, poised, modest & charmingly beautiful. & It's just a thought, but, you know how many things, like undergarments & all the different pieces of wardrobe bits you've covered? well. There are some I've not noticed you address for example, The pretty blouse you made in this video, you might get more use out of, considering your tastes, if you make a few Detachable Collars, Scarves & Brown, Kacky and linen sashes, bows and vests. Although I am not of that era, My Penn. State Grandmother was 20-40 years old then & Along with the cute bits and pieces you do have like she, there are other things women used to almost "fool" one into thinking one had many more outfits than one actually had..lol And another thing too is that many Many ladies instead of wearing a lined garment were wearing Camisoles very much like the "tank tops" we wear today.. or I do anyhow under some things. Just a thought though not a criticizing correction. I was really just wondering if you'd thought of making pieces like the detachable collars and such.. Thank you for all your whit & charming blog/tutorials. I enjoy them thoroughly.
You are so pretty; much prettier than the women on the pattern and immensely talented. You will have your own label before you know it. I always watch your videos, they are educational and entertaining. Thank you...
"kudos to those who wrote these.... They're probably dead now.....but they did a good job!" That made me laugh😂😂
You don't think you are as pretty as the pictures?...
You are even prettier and so talented!! Don't ever think otherwise.
right
thanks
That's what I was thinking when she said that.
I agree
You sound like you're smiling through a lot of your narration and it's really nice to listen to. Saved! For the best bound buttonhole instructions I've seen ... even better than my vintage sewing books.
2 uploads in one week? What did we do to deserve this?
I love how a shirt from 70 years ago can still look in fashion now.. I hope you make an effort to wear this shirt its really nice, style and color wise.
Yours hair with this hat look amazing! 👌
I’m very impressed with your bound buttonholes. Even with many years of sewing experience I tend to avoid those like the plague.
All of us came into our own at our own place at different times ‼️. Kiddo you have come into your own. You’re talented and cute.💐💐
Angela every time I watch your videos I learned so much more than I ever thought I could
Who gave this a thumbs down? What is there not to like? You inspire me to do better at my sewing.
I totally agree with you about the pocket, it looks much better with the stripes matching. The only possible alternative would have been the pocket done across the stripes to match the collar and cuffs. Very nice blouse.

This is my favorite of all of your blouses so far.
You look like you stepped out of a time machine at the end! Absolutely beautiful!
That fabric is just ... WOW! Love the colors and stripes!
I've never seen it done, and I don't know if this is a common thing, but I love the fact that you bind with lace. It's the cutest thing.
Absolutely love the full look with the trousers and the blouse together! It looks great on you. I do not quite have the figure for it, but darnit I wish I did..

Learning the button holes was very interesting!
Ugh I love this series so much. I’ve watched the 1908 skirt video at least 12 times for reference!
I absolutely love the style of this blouse, way more then planned. It looks old-fashioned in a very charming way. And they fit you nicely. The series never fails to lift my mood and I' always learning something.
Love the whole look, absolutely stunning. You look like a fabulous detective or reporter.
Thanks for the video! Made my evening!! I think this blouse would look so pretty and read so differently in a soft, small floral print.
Thanks for showing how to do those backed button holes - I will be trying this out on a future project. I'm a super new sewer (although have worn and collected vintage for years, so I have an appreciation of construction) Really found it useful to see a different process of button holes on a 'historic' blouse! x

Your blouse would look really cute with a green skirt. Keep up the great work. Loving the videos.
i don't know how to sew and i have no idea what you're saying most of the time but you're so charming and talented i can't stop watching your videos and honestly, you made me so curious about sewing and I'm actually considering taking some lessons now.
Aahhh I've been waiting for this shirt since the pants video!!
I'm so glad the more modern way of doing bound buttonholes is available. Love watching you put this together.
Thank you for finally explaining bound buttonholes in a way that makes sense!
1) you are definitely prettier than the drawings on the envelope
2) You have inspired me to get back behind the machine and finish all my unfinished projects
3) I love listening to your narration and watching you sew :) you are brilliant
Great demo of the button holes.
The blouse turned out great!! Again you did a wonderful job!
I use weights to hold pattern pieces in place. No damaging holes & tears to my patterns anymore. Try it. Wherever do you find your vintage patterns? I live your tenacity for sewing & recreating history. Keep up the great work!
Mostly from eBay or Etsy, if I remember correctly.
your nail color is so pretty!
Oooh!
I LOVE those bound buttonholes! 😍
I've not come across this nifty technique!
A joy to watch. Thank you Angela!
Oh! Wear it! You look amazing and elegant in this outfit! You've inspired me to try something more tailored with all the button holes, shoulder pads, etc. Stripes matching so nicely. That whole process would have terrified me. A string of pearls would look lovely. Thank you for all you excellent videos.
I'm so glad I'm not the only one who finds hand sewing relaxing!! This was lovely to watch. 😊
This is beautiful and you are a perfect model. You are Stunning.
Can I just say that I LOVE your nails?? 😍
You've nailed the 'land girl' look! Gorgeous!
I love the shirting. Love the pattern too. I will have to do those button holes. It looked nice done with the striped fabric.
Love the pattern, fabric, your tutorial and you are more beautiful because you're humble!
You elected not to put the bow at the neck. You could make a removable one and I think you would find that you use the top more since it would fit your aesthetic a little better.
thank you so much, i very like it.
I think this blouse is super cute.
You made a complicated blouse look easy ,I agree with Roxanne the blouse would look better with the bow ,unless you had a short neck ,well done anyway xx
love the way this blouse turned out, maybe you could make another in a color you are more likely to wear?
I love watching your sewing videos thank you xx
Great Job Angela! Beautiful...
Great job. Learning just watching your videos.

It's always good to see your videos Angela! Cant wait to see what your Christmas plans are
This turned out great.
I get really bothered by non-matching stripes & patterns too. Unless it is deliberate, like at an angle or changing direction. And yes! Lego Arm...or Playmobil. I had loads of both as a kid.
You did a lovely job on this shirt. I'm always inspired by your work.
Love the blouse ❤️ Good video-thanks.
Wish you to make also the other blouse on the pattern, maybe a nice striped silk..thx Angela!
I love this look. It's so true, it's not your usual girly pastels but I love how subtle it is. Reminds me of Marlene Deitrich! Great video, as always!
Just a suggestion. I buy drapery linning to make Muslins. I wait til! It goes on sale! $4.00 A metre. It's 60 wide there is a choice of 100% cotton or cotton poly blend. Also comes in white and cream. Much more economical choice,

Another really lovely ensemble! You are a great fashion designer!
Try adding a removable black and gold beaded Peter pan collar, it will really add a bit of femininity to the outfit
@@yeshummingbird not clash, but match the belt she wore with it. Then again, it's all personal taste
I'm so excited for the 1950s patterns!!
you are amazing and so inspiring.
you are a huge part of my motivation to clean up my sewing space so i can make stuff again too.
thank you!
Angela, you are as beautiful as your creations 👗
I enjoy your talent, videos and love your sense of humour.
Fascinating ‼️ Appreciate this video so much 😄
I REALLY like how this blouse came out, it looks so beautiful you did such a good job.
This turned out beautiful!!!! It really looks good on you! !! You are so lovely!!!
this was great, love your sew-alongs, Angela. And the sound quality was excellent!
Excellent garment! Looks very sharp.
Very Very Cute. Looks really good on you.
Beautiful work. beautiful model!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You are so pretty; much prettier than the women on the pattern and immensely talented. You will have your own label before you know it. I always watch your videos, they are educational and entertaining. Thank you...
Your nails are gourgeous!!
Love this blouse, it looks fantastic on you! ❤
Nice job , I love the shirt, 40's is my favorite era.
You inspire me a lot!!
I'd love to watch 1950's videos❤️❤️❤️
