The American Red Cross stopped recommending the Heimlich Manoeuvre as a first-choice treatment for choking more than 15 years ago. Heimlich himself has been exposed as a fraud by his own family, who’ve shown not only that he faked results of his research, he performed dangerous experiments on non-consenting patients.
The list Heimlich’s name should be on would include Josef Mengele and the doctors who oversaw the Tuskegee Study on Untreated Syphilis in the Negro Male.

As a health scientist, I have to say that I'm impressed by the research you've done & how accurate your information is. So many channels, while well meaning, make mistakes that could have been avoided. And I 100% agree with Henriette Lack being placed at number 1! She's totally a hero to cancer patients all over the world. I'm so glad she's been honoured for her contribution to medicine over & over again. I have myself used HeLa cells in experiments during my studies. Little me, in a small peninsula on the UK coast. She's made me a better health scientist in multiple ways & prolonged the lives & improved the quality of the lives of relatives of mine who had cancer. If she was alive today, I couldn't thank her enough.

Dr. Frances Kelsey. Who wouldn't authorise thalidomide being released into the American market because she was concerned about the difference between test results on rats and humans. Six times the company who made it tried to get it passed. Six times they put pressure on her to give in. She never backed down. Then the truth about the drug came out. Her steadfast resolve had saved millions of american families from misery and suffering. As she was Canadian, JFK made her an honorary American citizen.

Petrov wasn't really going on instinct, he was going on military knowledge and logic. The false readings only showed a small number of missiles incoming. Petrov knew that if the US was making a first strike it would be launching a much larger volley of missiles. It made no sense to make a small first strike in a nuclear war. That is the kind of reasoning that an experienced military officer is capable of and his subordinates may very not have been able to do.
