NO thank you for making these videos as I know it take a lot of work for you to keep the aquarium working and making these videos witch are so full of information and you make it feel like we are working with you. I know I am learning LOTS from you
Just discovered your channel, very much enjoyed the video and will watch more. I have basically the same inhabitants as you although I opted for Amano shrimp. Yes the amanos can be aggressive for food and will trample the cherry shrimp to get the crab bites I drop in for them but the cherry population continues to grow. I've subscribed and look forward to seeing this tank set up and growth.
i did not know that amano can eat cherry shrimp , my shrimp disappeared the first day i put them in tank. I was reluctant to believe that amano could eat cherry ship. your comment confirm it plus my son claimed seeing the amano eating one of my cherry shrips...i still not believe it. thanks for your video.
I did not know this either I have 3 HUGE amano shrimp (6-7cm) and recently added 20 small red cherry shrimp. They live together peacefully and unbothered by eachothers presence. Very fortunate apparently
You need high light, but it algae grows fast in high light. Set your timer for 4 hours on 2 hours off 4 hours on. The theory is that algae needs long hours of light to grow. Splitting up the light time slows down algae growth but gives enough light for plants to grow.
Thanks a lot for the videos Don’t think there’s any such videos or channel which gives such a detailed step by step explanation and descriptions! Sir can you please inform if water temperature control is needed for such aquariums and if yes what kind of heaters and at what temperature is it set to ? Thanks and best wishes as always!!
thank you very much. in my aquarium the temperature is now 20 -21 degrees Celsius. if you don't have shrimps, which prefer colder water, you can set a higher temperature like 24-25 degrees C
First, I wanted to thank you for making these peaceful and amazing videos. Second, I wanted to ask you a question: Do you refill the tank with water after a while? If so, what kind of water do you use?
11:03 I'll check this trick as it's clear a lot of things seem unusual to me, how did the plants grew to this size in an environment that is conducive to algae that destroy plants? In most scenario the young plants are full of algeas and die, it's weird because if that amount of plants aren't doing well how could we think it was better before ? Also I don't notice any layer of dead-plants on the floor, without filter you should get a layer of dirt. I suspect you have a sort of plant farm in another aquarium, as most plants in the video seems to be dying, I suppose they will die wihout solution.
the new plants in the aquarium and the change in light intensity have changed the balance of the ecosystem. there are not enough nutrients for all the plants. some of the plants will get used to fewer nutrients and others will die. I did an episode, the one with the experiment, when I took a lot of plants out of the aquarium, and the remaining plants started to grow big and healthy. I think the same will happen now, since there will be fewer plants in the aquarium
the biggest problem of yours is stopping waterchange. I noticed a good growth of plants when I did a WC every 1 or 2 week, and therefore the algae slowly were dying. tbh, no water change small tank won't look good. it will look like a neglected pond IF the plants are not 'filtering' the water. Algae bloom is a problem: D
i just started my first tank after getting inspired by your methods. how about the temperature though? we dont have winter but can get colder during quarter end of the year
Depending on what fish you choose, you can also set the temperature. In my aquarium, the temperature is 23-24 degrees Celsius. Shrimps feel better in colder water but they adapt well to higher temperatures.
Every time you remove growth from the plants, you remove nutrients from the ecosystem. Why not find organisms highly efficient at breaking down plant matter and leave your prunings in the tank? Then the nutrients will be able to re-enter the ecosystem and feed more plants.
The question is ‘why’? Why would you do this, what does it prove? Keeping an aquarium healthy also means work. An aquarium can never function on its own like a natural lake or pond, simply because of its very small volume of water. This method is over-hyped, mainly by that father fish clown.
don't put me in the same place as father fish, if you look at my comments you will see that he commented on me, he disagreed with my methods. I see that you already know the answer to the question of why I do it. only that both the question you asked and the answer are wrong. Thanks ❤❤❤
As usual it's a pleasure to drink my coffee and watch your videos. Danke! ❤❤❤

I love this series.
👍
Please leave the piano music it’s peaceful and matches your voice and the tone of the videos
thank you
Let the plants grow to the top or out of water. This allows them to have co2 from the air.
you are right, but they will shade the other smaller plants

possible. but I want to see how it happens and what the first signs are 👍

Which fish is that gutted fish with the red fins in your aquarium? It is beautiful and apparently possible in combination with the shrimp.

thanks for the idea. I'll think about it.
What kind of organisms do you recommend?

The answer is : to eksperimen and experience how life/earth/ecosystem/wild work
Yeah sure you can work if you want it pretty
Deosn't look good at all. Guess tgis overhyped Walstadt is not for me...😅
To be sure, you can try it in a jar or a small bowl 🤓
I think you need more oxygen in the water..is too full of life
water is hydrogen and oxygen. 😎
@walstadmethodstepbystep ok.
please lose the loud and annoying piano music. Adds nothing .
