I NEED PART 2!! Some of my recs would be: The Power by Naomi Alderman When Women Were Dragons by Kelly Barnhill (maybe less ragey, but still so good) Maeve Fly by CJ Leede
These are some fabulous recommendations, with several I haven’t read yet! I have a nonfiction suggestion-“Good and Mad” by Rebecca Traister, which explores the politics and cultural significance of women’s anger. Thanks for sharing! 😄
I think you’d like A Year of Rest and Relaxation if you liked Bunny. Less weird but equally as unhinged. When making this video I was truly struggling summarising the plot of Bunny cause it’s SO out of there it’s hard to describe. I loved it though, I have Awad’s other book, Rouge, on my TBR too!
Based on what you include here I think you would like They Never Learn by Layne Fargo if you haven't read it, yet. I think the other obvious ones to add (at least to me) are A Certain Hunger by Chelsea G Summers, Animal by Lisa Taddeo, and Boy Parts by Eliza Clark. Also I have to mention Nightbitch by Rachel Yoder because the film adaptation is coming out at the end of the year and I'm so excited for it!! I love the social commentary in the book.
I actually had Animal by Lisa Taddeo prepared in my script but then my microphone died 😂 I loved that one, especially cause it’s such a brewing form of feminine rage, like you can tell she’s suddenly just fed up after having her boundaries pushed time after time. A Certain Hunger and Animal Parts were already on my TBR, but I’m hereby adding They Never Learn and Nightbitch to that list (also: iconic titles).
Do you have a favourite book featuring female rage? 👀
Great video! I'd love a part 2!

Thank you so much for the recs! I've had The Power on my list for a while so I'm seeing this as my sign to pick it up soon hahaha

@@BooksByAnneleen It would be great for this list. So good! I bet you'll really like it.
