Wow! My first "real" camera, and the first one I paid on my own. Your model is actually the Mark 2 version, without the on/off ring around the shutter button. Absolutely stunning and very rugged camera. Congratulations!
A bit underrated camera. One big advantage is you can use pre-ai lenses on it using stop down metering. There is a slew of pre-ai glass that can be found cheap.
The marks for 24mm and 50mm at the focus window are not for normal photography but for the adjustment you need to make for the focus shift for infinity focus with infrared. Not too many 2-ring zooms had that.
Enjoy your videos they have a very relaxed feel to them. One tiny criticism ,please can you give a little more room when demonstrating the features the camera sometimes dissappears from view. Thanks for the work you put in
As the shutter blades travel vertically, the light issue is much more likely to be down to perished light trapping around the film door. Fm's are great cameras, although a bit more clunky in operation when compared to the later FM2.
The FM finder was too dark. The FM2 fixed that problem and was a great film camera back in the day. But we have digital now. Can't understand the nostalgia for film or film cameras, especially by those who never shot it in the past.
@@jamespowers8826 Considering the comment you made, I don't really understand why you watch videos about film cameras in the first place. But then, we're all different in our own ways.
I never found the view finder of my FM too dark! What’s wrong with a little nostalgia? I still have my black FM. I don’t use it anymore because film is too expensive and leaves the problem (and extra expense) of having it scanned. I now use a D750 and some of the lenses I used on the FM.

Thank you, I have been rather confused by these.

The more recent videos hopefully address this point.

@jonathanreid30 agreed, when I had a closer look at this camera, there were issues worth the seals, have replaced them. Thanks for watching.
