    Had a customer put their own in, it was drivable yet easy to slip. Only 200 miles.
    Pulled it all apart, all of the shims were only on the pressure plate stands (6 each) and no shims on the center plate stands. Ooof!
    All better now.

    Good job man and it’s weird because my clutch has one spacer instead of two lol 😅😅😅😅

    I did not take measurements of the stock fork movement. But did take measurements of the stock clutch fingers to bell housing. You think I’ll be good getting it dialed In? Thanks for the videos definitely has been a big help.

      @dannyjohnsonsgarage  4 месяца назад

      Yeah, the movement is just helpful to know what you have to work with. Most things can be adjusted, you just want to make sure the pivot ball stud is the right depth to avoid pulling the transmission if you can’t get it adjusted

    I haven't done a clutch in over 30 years and now need one on my 07 GT500. Back in the day you didn't need micrometers,.just line up and bolt together. Back in the day there was no such thing as twin disk... Im probably paying to have mine installed since i don't have a lift. I sure hope the installer has the technical savvy to do it to spec.

    • @dannyjohnsonsgarage
      @dannyjohnsonsgarage  9 месяцев назад +1

      I think it will be a lot easier on yours as I believe it already has the 26 spline input shaft

    What would you recommend for an 03 cobra smaller small upgrades pulley ,intake , 91 tune making 460-480hp

    • @dannyjohnsonsgarage
      @dannyjohnsonsgarage  4 месяца назад

      I would keep the stock input shaft and a 10 spline clutch unless you’re going over 500-600. You won’t need the twin disc, but a regular McLeod clutch will work

      Hmm it’s also cus I drive it quite a lot too and I do plan on going e85 making 500+ soon , are they reliable as well?

    • @dannyjohnsonsgarage
      @dannyjohnsonsgarage  4 месяца назад +1

      @@spontaneoustoe1799 it’s definitely something you don’t want to do twice, so if you do have plans down the road it may be worth the investment. If you daily drive a lot it will be an expensive clutch to wear out. I did the 26 spline and I’m glad I made the videos out of it, but I’d also consider selling your stock transmission and using the money towards a t56 magnum

    • @spontaneoustoe1799
      @spontaneoustoe1799 4 месяца назад

      @@dannyjohnsonsgarage does the 03 cobra not some with a t56 already? And how long did the twin disk last you?

    • @dannyjohnsonsgarage
      @dannyjohnsonsgarage  4 месяца назад +1

      @@spontaneoustoe1799 the 03 cobra comes with the t56 with the 10 spline input shaft. Due to Tremec not making 26 spline input shafts for the cobra anymore, the one I used will work but I’m not very impressed with it. With that said, tremec also offers a t56 magnum which does have a 26 spline input shaft. It’s really a tr6060 transmission they call a t56 for marketing. You have to run a 1” shorter drive shaft and really work with the pivot ball stud to make it all work. Here is my video on the input shaft and you can see why it was not the best quality to make it fit.

    So do u just tighten up the pivot ball all the way down ? Seems like that's how u ended it before u put trans in

    • @dannyjohnsonsgarage
      @dannyjohnsonsgarage  Год назад

      It depends on the length you end up with. In my case it did work just going all the way in, but on a magnum it will be different or even transmission to transmission

    Danny, so you didn't get the flywheel balanced?

    • @dannyjohnsonsgarage
      @dannyjohnsonsgarage  Год назад

      No. No one in town would do it, and it sounds like Mcleod is suggesting balancing the new clutch to your old flywheel if you are using their adapter plate. Because I bought the whole kit with the new flywheel it may be balanced better, and I have not had any issues. I am confused why they mentioned the balancing in my instructions, but it seems like they just put the same disclaimer on all their clutch kits.

      @racequad9 Год назад

      @@dannyjohnsonsgarage Same issue I ran into mine. No one around town did that kind of balancing - some didn't even know what I was talking about. I just hope if there is an issue, McLeod doesn't use that as a reason not to warranty it.

    • @dannyjohnsonsgarage
      @dannyjohnsonsgarage  Год назад

      Not unless it’s making a lot of power. It’s more work to change the input shaft on the tr3650 but you can find this clutch or similar with the 10 spline disc. I would not do it on my mach 1. The Centerforce has been really good on my mach 1.

      There is one stage above it the RXT1200 so I guess it would be stage 3/4 if that’s the scale
