The habitat from Burger's used to be a Bighorn sheep enclosure, they sent them all to France I believe for some reason, after that they added prairie dogs, tree porcupines and later even a group of peccary :D
Wow, I've never seen the porcupine down there, haha. In case you want some unnecessary backstory for Burgers' Peccaries: The riverbed enclosure near the rattlesnakes used to house the peccary group which is now in the big shared enclosure. The Bighorn sheep that used to live there, moved out mainly because it was hard to manage them with the extremely limited amount of holders in Europe/EAZA. Added bonus was that that the entire Desert didn't stink anymore. I do miss them though. Anyways, when the peccaries from Overloon had to go, they were able to go into Burgers' riverbed enclosure, which was still empty at the time.
Hello, back again with my UK zoo info. I'm going to break my rule here because normally I would only include zoos on my zoo life list (zoos I've visited since 2021), But since 2021 I haven't seen a peccary, but I did see Collared peccary's at Amazona zoo when I went around 2014/2015, I was quite young so do not remember much but I believe they had a medium sized mud pit with some trees and bushes. Unfortunately this is the only time I have ever seen peccary's but there are: 2 Collared peccary holders 1 White lipped peccary holder And 0 Chacoan peccary's
My Best Peccary Habitats is from Tierpark Nordhorn, Zooparc Overloon, Burger's Zoo (2 enclosures), Wuppertal, Zoo Planckendael, Zoo-Duisburg and Zie-Zoo. I like for Collared Peccaries to get Large Enclosure with Natural Parts from South America🦥🌎🌴🌺 and compatible with Giant Anteater.
Yeah there is a clear winner hahaha. Nordhorn has a special place for me because it was so cool to see so many of them, and the mix with bison is super neat imo

I love the Burger’s Zoo peccary enclosure. It’s similar to the exhibit we have here in Arizona for our peccaries
