  • We are making Turkish pide, boat-shaped flat bread with minced meat and vegetable toppings. With my mom we we show you both Bakery style pide and home-style pide. At the end, we will taste to compare two versions: one with cooked minced meat and one with raw topping..
    Ingredients for Turkish pide:
    For the yeast dough:
    2 cups lukewarm water
    1 tbsp dry yeast
    1 tbsp sugar
    2 tsp salt
    1/4 cup vegetable oil
    about 5+1/2 cups to 6 cups flour
    For minced meat topping
    400gr. minced meat
    1 each onion, tomato
    1 red capia pepper
    2-3 green peppers
    2-3 cloves of garlic
    I separated the filling into two and tried two version
    For the cooked minced meat topping we added 1 tsp each salt, black pepper, pul biber (chili flakes), and handful of chopped mushrooms
    For raw minced meat topping added tsp each salt, black pepper, pul biber, tsp tomato paste and tbsp of olive oil
