- 1970 Dodge Challenger T/A Panther Pink Muscle Car Of The Week Video #24
Dodge Muscle Cars came in a wide variety of crazy colors back in the day... come to think of it, they do now, too! This 1970 Dodge Challenger T/A is a great example of an awesome car in an over-the-top color. The Challenger T/A was the Trans Am race car for the street. It featured a beefed-up 340 V8 with a stronger block, special cam, free-breathing heads, and the super cool 6-Pack triple carb setup. The car had racy styling cues from bumper to bumper, and although they claimed 290 HP, these were potent performers embarrassing many cars with much more under the hood. However, the most notable feature on this example from the Brothers Collection is the paint code FM3, Panther Pink.

Hell YEAH! I would drive this car! My man hood is not challenged by the color of my cars!!!!
Challenged... Hehe
Hello guy from 7 years ago by the way.
Well paint a Prius Pink and see how long that last ! Well isn't that sweet . Next get a doll . Just so you can say it belongs to her . Then put a tag on it that says is hers and so am I. Kidding I think. 🤨😂
I got no problem saying the panther pink looks good.
Me too.
But it would look Great if it was blue or yellow. Hay honey get me my Pepto-Bismol I m feeling up set. I put it on the work bench. Damnit I thought that was the paint for Van dam's Challenger. Now I think I'll just lay down and die. Wowww. You make as well because he's going to kill you!! He might look pretty in pink. And we'll see how you look in black and blue. My blue eye glass's made it look purple. Same as your eyes will be if you don't paint that really quick. His wife s name isn't Mary K by chance is it.😏 🥵☺️😂😂
If she was in a burlap potato sack she would still B A "BAD GIRL!!!
It really does. Under the hood is wild!
Just 'cause it's pink, doesn't mean it ain't cool!
In my opinion, the two incarnations, AAR and TA are the best sounding domestic cars from idle to full scream. Working at a classic car dealership, I happened upon an opportunity to record the T/A we had in stock.
I needed to shower afterwards. The lope at idle is just nasty delicious.
The AAR Cuda and Challenger T/A are two of my absolute favorites. I'm a Mopar guy but all the other Trans Am race cars were awesome machines...Boss 302 Mustang/Cougar Eliminator's, Z28 Camaro's, and AMC Javelin Trans Am's. Loved the Trans Am Racing Series
That car and color is one of the rarest on the planet!!!!! GORGEOUS!!!!!
All these guys saying, “I’d drive it even though it’s pink!” You realize this is one of the most sought after Mopar colors, right? I love it!
This and plum crazy purple I think?
1970 Dodge Challenger is my favorite year! What an awesome looking car. There's nothing quite like it.
They are very cool. Engineered from the start to take any MOPAR engine.
I like the 70 chevelles and Shelby GT500 but the Challenger in The Vanishing Point movie was totally awesome and sounded amazing.
I love the Pink T/A
I remember a burnt orange T/A we would visit with when we were kids back in the 80s. We had a list of muscle cars weed visit every weekend around our state of R.I. and neighboring Massachusetts. We never got to see or chat with the owner of it unfortunately, cuz sometimes weed get lucky enough to bench race with some of the owners and hear some great stories and history of the local racing scene before we were old enough to become involved with it. Sometimes we even got lucky enough to buy them even!!! Great times! Thanks again for sharing all of these treasures of the past guys, I really appreciate all you guys do and the brothers trotting these out once a week for us and in a way letting us play with their toys for a bit! Please thank them personally if you can and don't mind doing so Kevin,it's truly the highlight if my days sometimes! Thanks again y'all!!!
I just can't imagine driving these ultra cool hi.po car on the weekends while the other parts of the world are still using 40hp 4 door . INCREDIBLE!!!!
I think the T/A in Panther Pink is one of the best colors offered. A guy up the road has a '70 Dart Swinger in FM3 Panther Pink looks great on that car as well.
Does his wife drive him to work ? Just kidding.
Nah, she can't handle the 4 speed.
My wife had a furious fuchsia 2010 srt challenger, throwback color to this. She cried when she sold it.
Most underrated but seriously the best color variant. Hate em or Love em you couldn't underestimate the Muscle cars of Dodge/Plymouth back in the day. Great video!
I sure miss my green one. Didn't start running right until you hit 70 m.p.h., then it smoothed out and felt in it's groove.
Beautiful color. Wish that they offered it today. BTW, great review.
I am pretty sure Dodge did offer it for a short time on the new Challenger. They have been offering limited runs of all their old wild mod colors at some point.
Yeah a pink panther colored Hellcat or Demon would be cool.
There is just no car like MoPaR, the #1 original American badass
A yo Kevin, the "Green Go" paint is back for 2017. 2017 Challenger T/A in Green Go, or Destroyer Gray would be the way I'd go if I bought one
I almost bought one new in 1970 but my parents nixed the idea. I ended up with a 71 Demon 340 which was cheaper and faster! I still own a 71 Demon 340 today! Fast and easy to work on!
You made a even better choice. My buddy had a demon 340 it was one of the fastest cars on Long Island back in the 70s. A absolute breathing monster the 340 was a big block killer
Amazing car! Woulda liked to hear it run!
If Kevin likes this pink T\A good enough for me ....it must be cool!
it's funny because they actually brought back "Green Go" on the upcoming Challenger T/A!
They changed it it's not Green Go it's Go Green
Hemi orange is one of the best colors, same as the air cleaner on this pink one.
Huh
why is that funny???
Stunning piece of work.💓
I would get a small sticker of the Pink Panther and put it on the back window just because the Pink Panther was so cool in that car is so badass
Wow I luv that color as a 2time cancer survivor also had TA. It would have special meaning 4 me beautiful luv it
Not my 1st pick but i would roll with the Pink Panther theme song blasting out of my optional 8-track player!
OH GOD THAT CAR IS AWESOME!!!
When I moved to South Jersey almost 30 years ago, I remember a man in Rio Grande NJ with this exact car in this exact panther pink color! Garage kept, only brought it out to clean it in the Sun! I bought a Hemi Magnum RT because of this car/guy!
HELL YEAH I WOULD DRIVE THAT IS BEST PINK CAR I EVER SAW
One of my favorite colors Mopar ever put out
Yes!! I'd drive a pink Challenger without question!!! Wouldn't even have to be a T/A. I love the FM3 Mopars!!
Any chance to be behind those early 70's Challengers, right?
I'd commit crimes against mankind to own a panther pink T/A... or any 1970 T/A as a matter of fact.
this will always be my dream car
Me too! had a chance to buy one in 1985 when I was in high school for $5,900.00. It was Ice Blue Iridescent. Of course I didnt have that kind of money back then. Regret it every time I see one.
My all time favorite car!!!!
Wow Kevin the brothers collection is amazing and you do a fantastic job at showing them
my dream car and colors are perfect
Pink Panther, my favorite cartoon. I have seen one this color in my life.
Beautiful car.I wouldnt change a thing .Perfect just the way it came.
I'd definitely drive it. Class Act.
My dad had a blue one, and technically its a 70 and 1/2 with a mid year production run making only enough to qualify it as a production vehicle and qualifying it for entry into the race.
Awsome presentation.
Definitely! Guys would love the way it goes and girls would love to ride in it!
Manufacturers need to bring back chrome trim today. Someway somehow. Not the fake plastic.
The chrome accents this car perfectly.
Very nice and a thumbs up liked.
Love the side exhaust & the wheel package
Beautiful !!!!
Man u guys got one hell of a Six pack car collection
I am surprised he did not point out the huge popularity of the Saturday morning Pink Panther Cartoon and Pink Panther movie franchise that was clearly the inspiration for the name of the color Panther Pink. At least it is noteworthy to this ole' soul .. who was a mature 10YO at the time of this automotive rarities production. Or something like that..
Love the color!
Very cool video. Very informative.
They really need to add this color to the options for 2018 for the T/A 392. They won't.
Indeed, I'm certain it would attract a lot of chick owners. And really this shade of pink is not especially feminine.
Well code was presented in video soo new challenger could be painted
"BEAUTIFUL Challenger" :)
Yes, I would drive a Panther Pink Challenger T/A.
Im getting my 70 Superbee ready now to paint Panther Pink
Damn straight I'd drive a pink 340 six pack!
I would not only drive it and be proud to, I would also be proud to own this beautiful Mopar
Beauty, ship it to me I’ll drive it
That could very well be the one I almost bought 1976. Louisville, KY....was dropping off a friend to pickup a car at a used car lot. Walk back to the garage and there’s a ‘70 Challenger Trans Am 340 Six Pak in Panther Pink sitting there with a flat rear tire. When my friend is settling up, casually mention “What’s the deal on the ‘70 Challenger T/A back there?” A guy goes “wadda ya know about that?” “One of the rarest colors; was mopar’s entry to go up against the Firebird T/A..... Salesman says “It’s my personal car and I’d take $1800 for it.” Was driving a ‘74 Impala; we talk; show up 3 weeks later cash & Impala in hand......salesman breaks the news. 2 hours after I left; guy came in and dropped $1800 cash. Heartbreaker.......
pink? i'd say its light purple :)) gourgeous looking car!
Ah the famous 340 small block. Bad ass perfomer
Those 340/6pk combos were badass. I had a 70 340/6pk cuda 'beautiful silver paint' every option from the factory including 3.91 posi' traction bars' hood pins ' shaker scoop" pistol grip 4 spd and that little bastard flew.I raced BB chevys ' fords and many mopars and never lost a race. Best time I ever got was a 13 flat at 110 mph with micket thompson N40 soft compounds. It hooked up so good off the line most of the time Id get a light tire chirp and I was gone. Miss that little sweetheart.
Tom Wolak 340 six pack is R/T 440 magnum better than this T/A special edition
@@AlejandroP1980s WHAT?????? 340 six pak is NOT R/T...NEVER.... T/A and AAR ONLY from factory
Hell yes I would drive it!
Pretty darn cool...!!
My dad had one in either bright or light blue poly. He worked in Boston at the time in the Hancock buildings, got out late one night and someone stole his hood. It looked totally bad-ass like that for about a week or two until he got another one. I miss that car.
That thing is a head turner for ALL the good reasons 🤩.
Kinda neat looking car, looks like a life-sized matchbox car
I LIKE IT!!💗💪👍
Gorgeous
A 340 six pack is a beast.
my older buddy bought a 73 challenger 340 it had NOS, he rebuilt the motor and repainted it panther pink,i knew right off that color wasnt a paint color for that year, but its fast thats all that matters
I had a Panther Pink T/A in 1989/1990. Also had 2 Panther Pink 340 Dusters a couple years after that. I ran a Maaco, and got them just because they were different. Should've kept at least one of those.
What a great sound...
Hey there he is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THE MOPAR T/A know it all...not. What no insightful Trans Am MOPAR wrong info from you in this comment section today???
I don't know who could hate that car.
Yes I would drive that T/A all the while blasting Thrash Metal or some good ole classic Southern Rock or maybe Waylon Jennings or David Allen Coe thru the speakers .
I would drive it with a smile on my face
nice color for that car, interesting
Cool car, cool color - but it's really magenta. True pink is what they painted the cars used by Mary Kay Cosmetics salespeople. I think Jay Leno did a feature on an ex-Mary Kay AMX, of all things!! {Restored back to it's factory-fresh pink finish, of course.}
I would love to drive that car anywhere. I think it would look better with a white interior.
Dam, just a bad ass small block Mopar muscle car !!!!
my buddys granpa has one of these they sound great and look great
Sweet !
Id drive it,I think it stands out even more,I have a white one but I rarely use it as Los Santos is a dangerous place these days lol
Nice car
It it, it beatiful
never liked pink but ooh baby what a beauty
Heck yeah I would!!! Fukn awesome color!! I don’t know y they don’t make them today??
Panther Pink is Awesome!! I would love to have it!!, it's as great as my 72 Demon,it was Hemi Orange!! Mopar rules muscle cars!!
WORD ! ! !
Did someone say the the ts fell off Mopar? Kidding had a Dart sleeper. With push button transmission. Plane as it could look. Till you open the hood.,, 🥱😳🤑
I didn't have to drive a girly Panther Pink Challenger T/A, with a girly automatic.. Mine was Hemi Orange with a pistol grip 4-speed.. Bought it cheap, cheap, cheap in the mid 80's..
Was??? sounds like maybe you would give your left testicles to the girl driving this pink T/A with an automatic to have it now. I bought its sister car...an AAR 'cuda...cheap, cheap, cheap back in the mid 70's. Mine IS girly red with a girlier Torqueflite and worth about 70 grand now...oh and still in my garage. What a putz U R....
wally walton LMAO.
That's your opinion, theres nothing "girly" about this car IMO
Summer of 81....I picked a Plum Crazy four speed pistol grip T/A off a small car lot, maybe 20 cars max in California for $7200. Odometer read 13,ooo, and guy wouldn't take an original 69 four speed Pontiac Trans Am in trade toward it. Even with factory 8 track console, and hood tach still in the box, in the glove box. Beautiful car and pulled hard for years.
yeah! those wheels are an optical illusion!
I sure would!
i love pink ...;)
I shor would drive a pink one because my favorite color is pink :)
I restored a 1970 plymouth 340 duster. 4spd 8.3/4 3.23 sure grip,hd suspension 4 Piston calipers, man brakes, man steering black body length duel stripe FM3- moulin rouge (aka panther pink) black bucket seats traded it for a 1969 plymouth road runner ralley green 383 air grabber,4 spd,consoul,am/fm 8track,
HELLYEA I sure would
My 392shaker is called Plumb Crazy purple.
Talk about a dream.
The 340 Dodge in 1970 was a strong running car we did a lot of street racing back then and in stock from they were fast. of course my 454 Chevelle SS was faster but we had a lot of fun.
Should be a pink panther movie
I owned a 70 pink panther 4 speed T/A in 1987 , found in Flagstaff ,Az. traded a 1975 D-150 long bed with 73' 340 motor for it . This not my old car, mine had white interior , with rear window louvers .
Dhes a beauty.
I saw that car in a magazine about 30 years ago.
