In our home office, my hubby and I painted one wall with dry erase paint. We measured our ideal white board size, taped it off, did a couple of coats, let them dry and voila. We use Velcro to hold cups on the board for markers. Or we put Velcro on the markers and erasers and then just stick them on the side. I also use tons of post it's. My favorite for my lists are mouse pads with sections for either the day of the week or with three sections for 'to do,' calls, or email tasks. Great videos.
I love the colorful post it notes but I'm the type that doesn't like to waste anything if I can help it. I would take stacks of these colorful post it notes or just colorful construction paper and laminate them and place a thin magnet on the back so I could reuse them and write on the front with dry erase markers.
Sketch Marks I agree. Your idea got me wondering if there’s a product like that already. I found reusable notes that stick using static cling. It’s not perfect because you might not be able to remove and stick as often as notes using magnets and only the white sticky notes are dry eraseable while while color notes are permanent. Teacher tip! If you can't find that type of board in particular, just get a regular white erase board. You can create lines on it with a wet erase marker. It won't come off the board unless you get it wet so it'll stay around for a long time.
I'm left handed too!!!!! Team left handed girls!! Gahaha I'm only 18 and I been doing crafts ever since I was born and I been watching your videos and they've really inspired me to get organized it's so hard! I still live at home of course! And my room is kinda small but I'm really hoping I can organize everything!
Such eye candy in organization. Love it! I just recently did a video on my channel in which I briefly showed how I plan my organizational projects in my home, but I really love this system that you have when trying to organize multiple project. You are so awesome! Thank you so much for this. I really am going to implement this. GREAT VIDEO!
Wow! I really need this. I did the computer desktop organizer but even then it's hard to keep track of things that way. I also use a planner but have so many projects on the go, plus am sick with MS so brain fog makes that more tricky. I had bought some whiteboards that I bought from the dollar store for another project and have a couple leftover. I don't have a lot of wall space in my small home office, but I do have a desk with a hutch. I think I can make the categories out of vinyl on my Cricut machine, and cut them to fit the cupboard doors on the hutch. I will probably need to do a mini post-it so I can do this on a smaller scale.
Honestly I was thinking you were a little nuts but this will be helpful for my wedding planning. We will divide up tasks...his, hers and shared, etc. :) Thanks for posting!
I haven't even watched more than 7 seconds of the vid and I already loved it. This is definitely what I was looking for. Thank you so much Alejandra!!!
Great idea! I have a large paper calendar that I rarely use and I just realized that the back of each month page would be perfect to organize my tasks on sticky notes! Thanks Alejandra!
Before your explanation . .. . I just stared wide eyed at the screen thinking you had lost it with your organizational obsession . . . I expected to hear, "This is my to-do list." It's a really good idea for a business.
I absolutely adore this. I wanna do this too. my heads so messy. it helps me so much to write everything down and divide it into categories. I love this accomplished area. amazing!!
I just love this idea. I wonder if it could be used for new moms who are trying to keep up with household chores, feeding schedules, doctor appointments and meal planning both for the family as well as food stages for the baby. Later they could possibly add to it if they have a baby and older children. Keeping up with activities, school work, and extra curricular activities away from home; such as soccer practice and dance classes.
The Accomplished section is a really great idea!! I'm happy I watched this one video. More than often I tend to scramble here and there to get things done by a weekly and monthly basis in my organizer but I never actually group all my accomplishments together or put it all in a list. Things do eventually happen but it's all over the place! This way, I think will be a great way for me to gauge my 'unproductive' days and tracks my progress in what I do. Great sharing Alejandra. Happy days!
I'm having trouble one finding a space for such a board (apartment) and two since I am very busy I'm finding it difficult keeping it this neat (on a consistent basis) so it looks nice too! For now I'm going digital with trello but would still love to be able to do this, maybe when I have a larger office!
Alejandra! I'm 18 and I've been addicted to cleaning and organizing my whole life! Pllllllease keep doing these amazing videos with great ideas. You are such an inspiration. Thank you SO much! (:
I really hope you get your own TV show, you're absolutely amazing..I don't know if this would be offensive, but better than Martha Stewart, who I grew up with and adore. I could definitely see you hosting a show like this.
Wow, I have watched several of your videos, and love them. I need you in my home. I live in a small 1 bedroom with a large amount of craft things organized. It blows up on a weekly basis..LOL. I am over-whelmed and don't know where to start..LOL Keep doing what you are doing, You explain things very well.
Hi Alejandra! If you like boards you should check out scrum boards or kanban boards. The concept in them is to know at what point a task is and have all task prioritized. We use kanban at work and I love it so much that I created a board (a little bit changed to fit in my necessities) for home too!
This is an excellent strategy for more visual, creative types who like to see what they are doing. I'm going to implement it. Thanks so much for sharing.
great for planning a wedding, we got one for that reason and it really helped keep everything running smooth. Also we put the things that needed to get done on there or ordered and WOW it helped
thank you! i did something similar except i put the sticky notes in my planner, organized according to my work areas, which are in separate sections. i wish i have a large enough space at work to do an overall board like this though!! i'm thinking i can use the really small sticky notes to make everything fit into a workable area.. hmmm.. please do more of these office or work organization videos!! :)
Perfect! I was just making a list of projects I want to work on the next six months. I am also a visual and tactile person. This method would work perfectly for me! The color coding would visually help me separate things. Love the idea of moving the sticky notes to a completed section. This is great motivation to keep you going. Love your videos!
This is like my blogging heaven idea! I've been meaning to get some type of whiteboard or pin board to add ALL my blogging to do's and ideas on. Thanks for the tip on the planners
Thank you. I own my own business and this just might be what I need to keep track of projects. Dont have money right now but I do have a pin board and maybe I can use different colored pushpins to represent different projects. Thank you so much.
Hey Alejandra. Today I organized my dry erase board, with sticky notes. This really keeps me organized, with all of the things I need to get done from now till the New Year. Many notes for what I will be cooking and baking and everything else Santa does this time of year , lol. I love it. thx :)
Thank you Alejandra. I've watched this video several times and it inspired me to create a new way to write out my Editorial Calendar for my channel. Can't get enough organization videos!
Would love to see your "to do" list/calendar. I am struggling with the format that works best for me and would love to see your system. Thanks for showing this Alejandra, it really is a great way to visualize what needs to happen in your business/life.
Thank you so much for this! I have successfully moved to an electronic calendar. However, for projects I literally need them in front of me. This will be perfect!
Im so happy i found RUclips! I hace a new proyect ! Organize my house lime you here in CHILE .... I need to find similar productos , that's the hardest part
I think this is the best of all your videos. It was very helpful to me. You mention that your to-do's are somewhere else but you don't address how you handle them. Am I missing something? I don't see a video on to-do lists but it would be very helpful, especially if it was as intuitive as this chart! Thanks very much!
This is an amazing idea!! Visual charts work really well for me so I am going to make one of these for my next semester at University :) (this semester is over now I just have 3 more exams and I'm done!)
Hi there - really love your clips - it is changing my life (and my sister's - I got her addicted!) Just rying to find the "To-Do'List" youtube - can't find it anywhere. Anyone out there know where it is - or perhaps you haven't done one yet? Cheers!
On the project board organization if you like a color coded digital version try www.Trello.com It's free and has post it notes. Also has an easy app for your phone or tablet too! .
Do you put your to do things on the post it and on your list? How do you decide what goes on the post it vs the to do list? Would love a walk through of your process.
I like the way you set this up. I would like to do the same thing. It appears that you are using a non standard size of sticky note. The common size of sticky notes is 3 inches x 3 inches. If that was the case then there would not be enough room to fit all of them horizontally across the board since the board that your link points to is only 24 inches wide. Please let me know the size of your sticky notes are (I'm assuming 2 inch by 2 inch) and where I can purchase them in the wide variety of a colors Thanks
They also sell plain white boards that are as thin as paper and you can use for this system. I use the 38x48" sheet. www.planetsafecalendars.com/Dry-Erase-Paper-Rollable-Lightweight-38-x-48-p/psc-dep.htm You just simply add the vertical lines to create 6" columns, and you can use the 3x3 sticky notes.
Thanks for the tips. How do you determine what goes on the project board and what goes on the to-do list? Is it based on when each item has to get done, and/or how complex they are? I like the idea of keeping separate lists because if I put long-term or low-urgency items on my daily to-do list, they just keep getting pushed out and often don't get done until and unless they become urgent. I'm just not sure how to manage with more than one list. Thanks again, I love your videos!
One question I do have, since you brought it up in the video, is what system you use to manage your todos. Perhaps you could share that sometime! Thanks again for sharing your insights!
it's such a great system of "ideas management"!! I really love it! I'm just wondering where I can put this board in my appartment :/ I don't want the hole world to see my projects. Any idea please? thanks
Hi Alejandra. Thanks for the video! great ideas. I use something similar although yours is definitely neater. I skip using the whiteboard and stick my notes right on the wall. How do I keep them "contained" since I don't have a board? I mark the boundaries (ie a square) with painters tape. This way I have my defined workspace and its easily removable and won't damage the walls.
Can you do a school planner tip/advice/organizer? and time mangement idea/tips/organizer. I'm also dyslexic and planner/agenda along with time mangment is my unorganized struggle.
Thank you for this great idea! I, too, am very visual and plan to implement this idea into my life for the various aspects of my life that I am responsible for, like homeschooling. Keeping things out of sight in a notebook is not as readily available to access and keep me abreast of things. I like also that you keep the "accomplished" post-it notes visible, too! Keep up the good work, Alejandra! Do you also manage your home life this way (with a white board and stickies)? Lisa from NJ

Mari Cat so true!
but then you'd lose the accomplished category

As a very visual & detailed organizer as well, I love this! Thanks Alejandra
I haven't even watched more than 7 seconds of the vid and I already loved it. This is definitely what I was looking for. Thank you so much Alejandra!!!

If I can say this, I am always looking for some ideas and tips too organize my life, I thought this was very clever. You are an pro organizing woman!!
I think it's great that you've kept the completed stickies at the bottom, it's a nice motivator. I think I might instate this for my classes next term
wow, you are my inspiration Alejandra, why don't I find your channel before? Thank you, I almost finish watching all of your video.
I'm also a visual type of person. This is such a great idea for me. Thanks for this video.
I saw this video awhile ago and am so I glad I found it again so I can create my board. Thanks maam.
I love this idea! It is a colorful Tetris board. Great idea keeping the accomplished projects as a motivator!
I love how your books are organized by colors. If I was an organized person, I'd make mine alphabetically organized. One day I'll get there.
Lovely! when you are organized then you can truly live your life, your brain has “space” to think.

OMG !! u the best organizer!!! im going to try to do the same with my daily activities!!!
this is basically a physical board of trello which I prefer cuz it's digital but this a good thing for nondigital ppl who hate online things.
This is basically where trello came from
Thank you so much for this genius organizing tip.. I especially like the "accomplished tasks" section. I want to see the todo list too. Much love!
Alejandra you are really creative .your videos are very helpful.
You are my absolute favourite person on RUclips!!!!! Please do a linen closet tour

This is an amasing idea. You are doing a great. Keep it up
Can you make a to-do list video? You've intrigued me now :)
There cannot possibly be a need for that many post it notes. You just want to make your board look pretty.
Oh. My. GAWD. This is AWESOME! I should do this for my blog/vlog and all my personal goals! i love it. i adore you!! so many fun ideas!! :-)
Well this is by far the most attractive kanban board I've ever seen. :)

it's such a great system of "ideas management"!! I really love it! I'm just wondering where I can put this board in my appartment :/ I don't want the hole world to see my projects. Any idea please? thanks
Love this! Thank you..
Hi Alejandra. Thanks for the video! great ideas. I use something similar although yours is definitely neater. I skip using the whiteboard and stick my notes right on the wall.
