I dont know guys, you could call me a fanboy or whatever, or just someone whos enjoys what Rise Against does, but I dont see any sort of decline for the band. I think a lot of people have given them shit for turning "mainstream" since ATR, but i dont think they have lost their passion. I think its clear that these are 4 dudes that love what they do and i think thats what matters the most. I use to be mad about the new fans from just listening to savior too. I mean i understand that bitter feeling when someone from the outside comes into this community of punks. But so what? Who cares about those people, honestly? I love Rise Against, and that is all that matters, to me at least. They have turned me on to a different view of the world, and have inspired me to do things about it. I want to use my music to inspire others to think bigger, just like they do for me. And other people have other reasons to love Rise Against, and thats all that matters. Now talking about their music, I think if you look closely, there are no two identical Rise Against albums. The unraveling is definately raw, unpolished, and angry(not to mention very introspective). RPM is dynamic with the additional guitar and political lyrics. Siren song is longer with riffs and bridges and all that good stuff with punching vocals. Sufferer and the witness feels like something greater. Something that you just feel that oozes out of the drum skins and amp cabinets. ATR is a bit more polished but the bass reminds me of what Rise Against can do, which is create incredible pieces of musical art. In addition, ATR's mainstream success opens up Rise Against to a more diverse audience. I know that might seem unforgivable, but listen. Rise Against undoubtedly has opinions to share with the world about the things they think need changing. With a greater audience, these ideas will be able to absorb into the minds of even more people to actually inspire change, which is amazing. Endgame was a harmony of every instrument that supported incredible lyrics that shattered the distorted realities of some huge issues. Black market became dynamic with tone and mostly introspective, with the eco terrorist in me being a reminder that the world deserves our attention. And introspective is not bad. It is not mainstream, especially since RA wrote introspectively in their very first album. The lyrics of the black market album focus on how a soul handles the shit from outside forces. All the struggle, the heartbreak, the despair, and many can relate. This ability to connect to an audience through similar experiences is incredible, and can even be a source of help for those people. Do you guys see that Rise Against changes and changes but will always be Rise Against. Tim's voice may be worn from years of performing but he still has that passion. They are a band that outlives their guitars and drumsticks to become of force for progress in a world where alot of people just dont give a shit anymore. And if you still dont like Rise Against, thats cool too. We all have different likes and tastes and thats okay. As long as we arent assholes about who we like or dont like we are okay. I just want people to see a different perspective on Rise Against's development through the years.
They're really only one of the bands that I know of that stick to their beliefs and opinions. Their sound may have changed a little, but they haven't changed a bit.
Considering how much the band has aged and matured since the early days, I think it's incredibly impressive how they've kept their passion and energy flowing through all of these years.
+BTSShepherd finally someone who understands the way I feel about this band. Everything you said is perfect, i have never been able to explain it to anyone else but this band changed my life. I dont even agree with pretty much all of their politics, their music is just incredible on a deeper lever.

If you're disappointed with the new direction of Rise Against it simply means you can no longer relate to their art. They're human and humans grow and change, their music reflecting this. Personally I think Black Market and Endgame is some of the best music I've ever heard. I've had both albums on repeat since the day they came out. I've gotten goosebumps from some of the songs on these albums.
Any show that they put on is memorable! One of the greatest and most underrated bands of all time.Greatest setlist I've ever heard.I've seen over 200 concerts
Rise Against is personally my favorite band, but even if you look at record statistics, their old albums like The Sufferer and the Witness and Appeal to Reason were some of their best albums. I think that Rise Against is turning a little more to the softer side, I believe this is because the growing popularity of pop and alternative music. But i like seeing how they bring their old stuff into their most recent concerts
You know what, his voice sounds good, why does everyone say they suck live, he doesnt use any fucken auto tune or anything, admitidly, he doesnt sound as good live as he did maybe 6 years ago but it is still great
I'll list some of the things they lack when they perform live. 1. Tim has very little breath and so can't sustain his tones. 2. His vocal range have been damaged by him distorting his voice for all those years so he's not able to hit the highest notes. 3. The vocalists don't mix. 4. Their drummer tends to randomly change the bpm through each song. 5. Finally, their sound engineer just always seem do a lousy job. It's doesn't have anything to do with hate. It's just what you get when you compare their shows with their album.
Christoffer13 You were not kidding on the years. It has sure hit his voice hard. I looked into a 2009 concert and he sounded much better, but then again it was 6 years ago so 6 years of this kills ya.
yea, the first time i saw them live was in 2007, the first song i listened to live was state of the union, and it is still my fav live performance from any band to this day. He screamed the song and it sounded like gold, I reckon they still sound good, they have that grundgy punk sound
I wish i had been there ... the feeling had to be so freakin nice ! !! i love rock metal and so on . To know rise against and to be on one of their conerts is one of my most have wishes ;) :D sorry for broken english ... i am from germany
This concert was something ill remember forever. Got to be right up in the front towards the right with my girlfriend and that shit was fucking perfect. Seeing those motherfuckers play pretty much most of their hits made the fucking night and being that damn close was even better
I bet you have it in better quality than it shows up on youtube but I owe you one for posting this. Lets keep it on the DL if possible so they don't make you take it down. I NEED THIS!
I'm a nerd and these guys are my favorite band. I'm far from emo. Yeah they've gone mainstream but I did like them in the sufferer and the witness days and APT is one of my favorite albums of all time.
OH RIGHT .... I FREAKIN LOVE THIS ! ENGERGY , NOT THE BADBOY IMITCH LIKE OTHER ROCK BANDS ! , DO WHAT YOU LIKE TO DO ! HAVE FUN GUYS STAY LONG LIKE YOU ARE !
his voice isn't up to standardbecause its his last show of the tour, hes had to scream the lyrics out every other night, but on the first show, I bet he would have sounded brilliant
Haha I found out about that song from Madden 07. Rediscovered it a couple days ago! I want to go to KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas. Do you prefer pit or close by seating
I've been a singer for about four years. When you sing with vibrato in a rock setting, it almost gives you more control over your voice. For me, it's more comfortable. Hope I answered your question!
txglasgow Yes, i get it, but singing is another story. I´ve been a guitar player about six years and still dont know why Zach do Vibrato when he play old songs (old guitar solo from Mr. Precious, Todd, Chris), song is write like clean note, no vibrato. Sounds funny...
I love People Live Here, but I feel like this performance wasn't very good, and only because Zach's guitar drowned out Tim's for like 70% of the song. I feel like the acoustic is what really conveys the emotion, and with Zach playing over most of it, that emotional element was lost to me.
I have one theory. Notice how all the songs in the recent setlist (like this one) fit the mood/nature of The Black Market, the album they are supporting. TBM is more introspective than political, so it makes a little sense why they aren't playing political songs like Hero of War/State of the Union/Blood Red White and Blue/etc. I guess that's just their choice with their touring now
makes sense but then they should play more tracks from TBM like the great die-off cause i guess in the concert, they play more songs witch are older than hero of war no matter, they are still amazing see them on Rock am Ring 2015 \m/ rock on
Tobs Sc. Problem with that is that for every new song they play live, they have to practice a lot before they can play it in front of the audiences because they don't play it all together when they record it in the studio, so being perfectly in sync like it is live is hard to master. I agree with you though, hopefully they bring out plenty more TBM songs on their tours to come!
The crowd was pretty bad here. Rise Against seemed to get discouraged by that and play not as energized. Hell, I saw them a few nights before and they were much better, as well as the crowd. Just look at videos from previous nights a few weeks back. Really digging how his voice is better from the last time I saw them live in 2011
I really like Rise Against, but somehow I don't like them live. The voice of the singer seems a bit weak. Just like Bullet for My Valentine's singer... Still love the music though
I dont know guys, you could call me a fanboy or whatever, or just someone whos enjoys what Rise Against does, but I dont see any sort of decline for the band. i love each album they release, rise against is one of the few bands that never dissapointed me through the years :)
Totally agree, their last two albums are some of my favorite and I have all of their music.
you sir, are a man of taste
I love Endgame, Black Market is good, but I prefer endgame. I agree though.

From "Alive and Well" to "Bridges," Rise Against has been incredible. I can count the amount of songs I dislike from RA on a single hand.
You know what, his voice sounds good, why does everyone say they suck live, he doesnt use any fucken auto tune or anything, admitidly, he doesnt sound as good live as he did maybe 6 years ago but it is still great
And plus its the end of the tour (literally the last show) and it definitely can get your vpice shot fast playing as freauently as they do

If I could sum up their show in one statement,"They will take you in their hands and change your world!"
I’ve been listening to Rise Against so long that I can distributing Zach’s guitar playing style vs Tim’s playing style. Lol
This has to be the best concert that Tim played 'Swing Life Away'. So much emotion and heart put into it!
When the fuck will they play "The Eco-Terrorist in Me" Live? I fucking love that song ;A;
Man, you guys who were at this gig were so lucky to hear some of these songs. Alive and well, people live here.. Man, I envy you.
This Concert was awesome to be at, it doesn't do it justice to just watch it on youtube, their concert was absolutely fantastic at Jannus Live.
Big Rise Against fan here thanks for uploading.. Great show..
awesome crownd, awesome performance, awesome band. RISE FUCKING AGAINST!!!
Einer der besten Bands da draußen!
I wish i had been there ... the feeling had to be so freakin nice ! !! i love rock metal and so on . To know rise against and to be on one of their conerts is one of my most have wishes ;) :D sorry for broken english ... i am from germany

Does anyone know how to play this version of Swing Life Away?
***** the first verse is fingerpicked. and the chorus here is regular Em, G, C, D
***** ah okay. I´ve been playing the normal version with powerchords and tuned in Eb
haha i like how tim called them bastards in swing life away during ''settle down where palm trees grow'' because chicago is cold lol
jordanalexander I think it's cause they didn't sing along...
oh I'm sure everyone was singing along lol
@@MJCGames tim wouldn't actually call his fans bastards lol, he was just having some fun :P
OH RIGHT .... I FREAKIN LOVE THIS ! ENGERGY , NOT THE BADBOY IMITCH LIKE OTHER ROCK BANDS ! , DO WHAT YOU LIKE TO DO ! HAVE FUN GUYS STAY LONG LIKE YOU ARE !
He was seriously struggling through give it all
Nice ;)

umas as banda eu amo sou fanatico
his voice isn't up to standardbecause its his last show of the tour, hes had to scream the lyrics out every other night, but on the first show, I bet he would have sounded brilliant
Tried finding myself in the pits and crowed surfing
Why does tim mcllrath voice sound so different. to me it sounds like he strains so hard to hit some notes.
dont get me wrong he still sounds great.
Richard Anderson The only thing I've noticed different is more spacing between the words. Time will tell.
I think he's just tired or something. But you're right he sounds different but still great
and sry if i make some mistakes. English it not my 1st :s
Your English is fine.
when has he come to sing like a faint voice in the ends of each sentence of the songs
Cuz he doesn't have a good voice technique.
Seeing them in a month for the first time.
I'll be so dissapointed if they don't play "Drones".
Haha I found out about that song from Madden 07. Rediscovered it a couple days ago! I want to go to KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas. Do you prefer pit or close by seating
alex12104 pit!!!! If there's no seats u can move where ever u want to
why Zach playing everything with vibrato ? Itnt sounds really good.

Rene Fa Vibrato is used to add feeling to the note, and you can really see how much he gets into it on stage. So he's just really into it
Rene Fa Mr Precious hahaha, it was Mr. Precision, I just found that really funny
ChatmakGames huh :D sorry, stupid t9 on my phone :D
:( Tims voice seems tottaly shot in this set.
It’s all good we still love him

The breakdown during the bridge of Saviour isn't as badass as it used to be in 2012 in my opinion :-/
why they dont play hero of war anymore??

Daniel Castle
great point, i hadnt thought of this (
Tobs Sc. "I hadn't thought of this" would have been beter ;)
Why do they only play two songs off the new record? It's bullshit
I think they are good in live, Tom cant reach high notes because he forced his voice to the maximun. PD: Im from Spain.
The crowd was pretty bad here. Rise Against seemed to get discouraged by that and play not as energized. Hell, I saw them a few nights before and they were much better, as well as the crowd. Just look at videos from previous nights a few weeks back. Really digging how his voice is better from the last time I saw them live in 2011
I was at this show. I wish they showed the pit some more, because we had that thing going around all night. Everyone else, though, idk.
I really like Rise Against, but somehow I don't like them live. The voice of the singer seems a bit weak. Just like Bullet for My Valentine's singer... Still love the music though
It's because of Tim's singing style: very aggressive so it hurts his throat. He also goes quite high pitched for a man.
Ben Ross his voice isnt that high pitched you wanna here a high pitched voice go listen to affiance or periphery!
Honestly, it sounds much worse on video than when you actually are listening to them live.
You should watch older videos of him. 2006 and down, the golden years...
You mad, i saw them 2 time on live, always perfect
Come on! if you are to play old songs, play something hardcore!!!
Wow, this crowd sucked so hard
What a poor crowd
