There is a similar scams going on in Malaysia. The girl will ask you to meet at a hotel with a convience store nearby. After you reached, "she" will ask you to snap a photo to prove you're there and ask you to buy online credits. They will say cannot accept cash as they scare counterfeit money or police. If you refuse, they will threaten with a photo with a gun and dead body while saying they saw you when you took the photo earlier.
Once these services cannot be paid in person (paid in cash), but have to paid and transferred online, this is one warning sign. Another warning sign, they don't accept your video calls/calls
Got scammed once they ask for deposit but once you start giving them they will ask for more and more and if you dont do as they say, they threaten to find you and whack kaw you😂
The huge leap forward that Singapore has made as a nation amazes me. The personalities who act out the scenes are all trim and well groomed and fit. The networking and immediate action of the Police force is commendable and reflective of efficiency. I keep watching this series and Border Patrol of the UK another really good series. The only difference is in the manner of arrest which in Crime watch seems a bit daunting when compared with the British forces that maintain strict decorum al throughout. Also, the acting at times needs some fine tuning towards being natural.
I know!! I'm watching from the usa, this show is addicting. Knowing how advance and how much survellence is in singapore it would be dumb to committ a crime there
Actually, it’ll b good if all atm machines can install a camera on the machines itself...so even if perpetrator wears cap or hooded, the atm machines’ camera can take snap shots....
Incase if you been living under the rock or just unaware... atm machines do have a hidden camera or a built in camera itself along with a CCTV "pointing" at the ATM itself You can google it.. but it only records the face of the person..
So Taxi driver didn't make a police report when he sees his passenger taking the card off the AXS machine but didn't trust him enough when his passenger say he has no money and was asked to make easy money? But trust his guts to follow him?
Substantial criminals in Singapore actually come from Malaysia. The syndicate bosses now don't operate in China, they operate in Malaysia, Philippines & Cambodia etc, not so easy to catch them now.
10:55 there is no hope for stupid people, people want to transfer you money why do they need your physical card bro, they just need your card number or account number, this person dont know paynow exist is it ?
Bruh why everytime like the masterminds or culprits wasn’t in Singapore and living overseas can’t be caught by the police ? The sg police can just collab with other countries and catch the culprit together whatttt
I think it is easier said than done because other countries might not have the same capability or resources as we do. They might be working with us but other countries are huge and might have more remote places than we do. Or they might have other priorities. Unless it is a huge serial case/syndicate or terrorism.
u don't even know which country that the masterminds are in, and they must also have policy to let the suspects being brought back to singapore for questionning
Same here, I also hope that SG Police and other country Police can work together to trace the masterminds scammers. Anyway, these masterminds must know that they cannot hide forever, sooner or later they will be caught. and may God curse and retribution will be upon these scammers.
It's not as simple as you think. Spore and Malaysia or Thailand police departments might have close cooperation, but usually this will be between the various departments. i.e, spore secret society + vice with thai/Malay secret society and vice squads. So, if the case is for cheating/theft, this will fall under fraud which is different departments, and spore fraud squad may not have any existing relationship with their counterparts, so no joint investigation is possible. Spore and Cambodia or Laos may not have an agreement for their police to work today, believe it or not, this actually requires representatives from both countries to sign a memorandum or formal agreement to work together. If spore police know the identity of the culprits, they can issue Interpol red notice, meaning a warrant of arrest for the suspect valid in all Interpol partner countries(around 200). So, police is that country will arrest the suspect and arrange extradition back to spore for him to face charges here. Once again, all this is dependent on spore having a extradition treaty with that particular country, if not, there is nothing to compel the police overseas to help us arrest the suspect. But, this situation is extremely rare now as I believe we have treaties with all Asean, European and Commonwealth countries, US and Canada also. The countries which we dont have any extradition agreement are all in Africa. Oh, I almost forgot. An extradition treaty doesn't guarentee extradition. For example, there are a few places like australia which forbids the extradition of an individual to a country if he/she could receive the death penalty. So if spore wanted that suspect back, they must guarantee not to impose the death penalty. On the other hand, nearly all countries would have a minimum requirement or charge that the suspect is facing before they consider extradition. The crime must be an offence punishable upon conviction with at least 6 months’ imprisonment, this ensures that resources arent wasted on petty offences where the suspect may not even face jail, most likely their penalty was a fine at worst. Interestingly, the UK will not extradite to spore if the suspect faces caning, alas this is another area whereby we're forced to yield. There are a lot of technicalities and legal bs, but ultimately spore police are the best in the region and they very rarely let the crook get away. Have faith, be patient, justice will be done.
Usually the anti crime tips include suggestion like "If you really have to carry large sum of money get a friend to accompany you" This episode don't have suggestion for if you really have to get "massaged" 😂
Serves the victims right. Who in the right mind would leave their bank card and PIN numbers out in the open liddat. Aren’t they inviting strangers to empty their bank account? I don’t get it!! Ppl can be so dumb!
