Thanks for the tech tip ,I am not sure if you haven't already done one but after seeing your amazing collection of pull saws I'm hoping you might be able to give us a little class on which one is a favorite which one is the go to tool what to look for etc. I have been using the plastic handle American versions for decades but I think I am probably missing something?
That’s a great idea for a video. I’ll try to find some time to do that. I much prefer pull saws with a long handle as the traditional Japanese one feature. You get straighter cuts with less chance of binding when you hold them near the end handle rather than choking up close to the blade. You can always make a different handle for yours.
I've got an old one on sharpening plane irons already. Not the best quality video but the information is sound enough. ruclips.net/video/k0Oe9r5Y7N0/видео.html I'll add a plane setup video to the to-do list.
That was is pretty keen at about 20 degrees. I only use it on softwoods. I have another that is closer ot 25-30 degrees which I use on the nastier stuff.
@@Nomadboatbuilding Lol, sandwich clamps 🤪, that’s how l stropped for the past nearly 60 years so l suppose that makes me son of leather sandwich clamps.
Nice. These kind of how-to tips are great. Thanks!
I’ll be sure to throw some more out there.

Hi - what about a 2.58 minute for wood plane sharpening? Also how to set-up a wood plane. Great video ; off to do my smaller version slick. Thanks

What angle is your slick, Unfortunately the one I picked up at an antique shop needed grinding. Just curious...

Drummer?
Nope. Banjo.
Always strop on the palm of my hand, like Pop's showed me when l wos 7 or 8 year old. Plane blades as well, l think a slick might be a strop too far 😉
Your dad must have had a leathery set of sandwhich clamps!
