We live in Switzerland and its better to take and travel by regional trains which are 3 times cheaper than Glacier/Bernina express and you get a chance to divide your trip into 2 days. Believe me its just marketing strategy. Seating in a train for 8 hours is no joke (ACTUALLY VERY BOARING) plus eating 4 meal course in a moving train I tried once and it gave me nausea 😵. Oberalppass is worth visiting its so beautiful 😍

However if your in a time crunch, riding faster trains is ideal as you can visit more parts of Switzerland in a shorter period of time. Another scenic train ride that is on a normal train is the one from Lucerne to Interlaken.
Just a small detail: the place the milk is from (Chur) is not pronounced "Tshur", but the locals say "Kur". It literally means "cure" as the region is renowned for its health spas.
That's wrong Etienne. Chur and the Grisons were conquered by the romans in the year 15 B.C. They called the existing settlement Curia Raetorum. Curia means city. So Chur literally means City :)
The views on Amtraks calirfornia zephyr from Chicago to Emyrville, California are some of the sweetest views... from the city to the Paries of Nebraska, to the rocky mountains of Colorado, the deserts of Utah and Nevada, and the Tahoe forest and landscapes into California. The views were outstanding! I am going to make a plan for the Glacier Express!

I can't believe you arrived in Zermatt and did not show the Matterhorn I the Video! I was totally expecting to see the Matterhonr at the end of this short film :)
You should have invested a little bit more time and money. Once in St. Moritz the line down to Tirano might be the most spectacular part of the whole line. You really missed some beautiful scenery. I live around that place, close to Chur, and we love to go for a Pizza in Posciavo. With the Grisons general abonnement, it is possible to use all these trains for the whole year. No need for a car any more.

I was wondering you only used the Swiss Half Fare card for the 1st class tickets on the Glacier Express, didn’t have the Swiss Travel Pass? Also you have to buy the half fare card for each person correct?
