Was there anything that I missed about any of these EX abilities? Please let me know, as I want to take all information that I can in before finalizing my tier list and making that video!
I think you only missed a small change to Zelda's Sheika Slate. When you detonate her bomb rune, it also gained a new attack, the bomb kinda sucks enemies in while damaging them and finally explodes at the end with a big blast revealing weak point gages. It made it easier to set up traps with her bombs and to position them.
@Warriors Dojo, will you soon be making a tier list that includes Purah & Robbie, Sooga and the EX abilities just like you did back when DLC pack 1 released?
According to me you missed two things I will try to explain it as well as possible, English is not my main language Zelda sheikah slate: When you control the remote bombs make it charge the explosion (i already forgot wich boton is that) then dodge cancel out (Obviously before it explodes) and press ZR The explosion will be stronger and will force out the weak point of the enemy (I use it in conjunction with magnesis, first I use magnesis and prepare it with the metal box of the first normal attack, Then I wait a moment to let recharge the timer to use the sheikah slate again and use the remote bombs as I described before, that completely destroys the weak point) Revali: Those bombs that he places can be exploded instantly using combos 5 and 6, the ones that make you return to the ground, only you need to hit the bombs They won't explode if you fall too far from them And they will force out the weak point
I like the Monk's. His character before was like, "Come, let us play a game!" and after it's like, "I summon Blue-eyes Ultimate Dragon! Neutron Blast Attack!!"
Fun tactic If you get a mighty lynel sword level 30 You can get some kills just by running around the field thanks to his 12% insta kill chance on mob enemies
I think my favorite one is Maz Koshia's new ability. I get one rune through the electric ball move, bring up the metal spheres you can hammer into bouncing up and down. Full rune meter, and then do it again, but blast a huge laser out and watch the WPG melt away.
He is just BROKEN with this! And if you always use the metal spheres with the laser, you empty it and refill it at the same time, allowing you to keep "FIRIN' MUH LAYSAH!"
Yunobo's Orange Barrier is the best. Also about Calamity Ganon, he is already good and didn't need his Calamity Mode all the time. His attacks are strong and his Magnesis and Bombs already reveals WPGs too. I rarely needed to use high Calamity Mode. Plenty of people considered him a Game Breaker, even TV Tropes. He was never Low Tier.
I agree with Mipha’s special attack having increased healing. It’s only able to restore about four hearts so it’s not that reliable when you need to Mipha healthy during battle.
You could triple her heal, but it would still have about the same usefulness on apocalyptic mode. That being said, healing just a little bit can actually be really useful since the vast majority of attacks in the game cannot kill you from above 1/4 heart. So the idea is you save your heals for when you're 1/4 heart and every time you get hit back down to 1/4 heart you heal so you can get hit again without dying.
@@JetstreamTheSexSam I would probably put mipha in one of the lower tiers myself. There're a couple of ways to approach a tier list, you could tier based on level clear times, ease of use, etc. Regardless; mipha has a poor stasis rune, is subpar at boss stun-locking and DPS-ing, and doesn't even excel particularly at crowd clearing. Her two biggest highlights would be using her to heal escorts (or save your life if you're out of apples) or to use her midair attacking shenanigans. Even then her midair shenanigans face stiff competition from teba, revali, and situationally 1h link and strangely enough calamity ganon (and maybe bike Zelda but I'm not sure on that). Lastly, mipha does have one quality that helps save her if you do individual level speedruns, and that is a somewhat annoying to use bug known as fountain cancelling.
Going by your tier list for this game, Riju's EX ability instantly jumps her up to low/mid A tier. After playing with her new ability for a bit, being able to force a weakpoint from her dash instantly removes her biggest weakness: the lack of a quick or reliable weakpoint exposer. Probably the only downside is that this has to be done from the rampage itself (holding the unique action button) rather than just using it when Patricia is in her rage mode. Makes it harder to aim, but becomes much better after learning how to cancel rage or dash attacks into it to avoid the small startup the rampage normally has. She can even use stasis during the attack and use the slowmo from the Sheikah Slate menu to trivialize the otherwise somewhat tight timing on the EX ability's weakpiont duration. While nowhere near someone like Teba, Guardian or Impa in terms of strength, she really does have an option for just about everything now. Rage dash attacks are one of the best trash mob cleaners in the game and also are a great weakpoint killer with practice. Her ability to clear large mobs effortlessly givers her much better special charge than most of the cast. Always being on the move and circling enemies makes her a very safe character against stronger/harder enemies. She's even arguably the best guardian killer due to her parry and their large hitboxes making dash attack circling effortless (not that you need to now that you can just force a weakpoint whenever). Probably the only negative about this move (from a gameplay perspective and not character viability) is that it really just limits her practical kit to rage dash attack and rampage dash attack; having an instant waypoint exposer from her rampage really did remove the niche practicality that her normal and strong attacks had. She can only do 2 or 3 things really well, but does those things better than almost anyone else.
Before you conclude your ranking I would like you to experience one aspect of 2 handed link that I think you over looked. What i like to call his suicide build. He has a unique action that is just absurd when paired with a max royal guard sword. All increased damage at 30% or less health with a single atk speed skill which allows you to absoluty decimate with his final strong atk you get super armor/ invincible with a just absurd amount of damage. He additional becomes practically immortal when in this atk while not allowing the enemy to recover before you start this chain over again
I understand that it's probably a bit late to tell you this, but damage below 30% hearts caps at 50%. I'd suggest using two of those seals (42% to avoid going over the cap) alongside a larger amount of attack speed and/or strong attack damage.
I have something to say about links arrows You can activate the ariel version during a back dodge or a sheild surf startup The ariel version has better speed, and accuracy btw
My only gripe with Sidon's EX is the fact you have to choose either the fish waves or his original ability upgrade for being unstaggerable as a follow up to most any charged attack. I enjoyed using his C1 to get the unstaggerable state going before engaging an elite or 2 in a crowd to ensure I got to the combos I wanted (his C6 is just nuts at clearing a crowd and ripping a WPG to bits)
Not sure why u said Ganon was one of the lower tier characters before, his magnesis is basically a free thunder rod except for electric enemies, magnesis, then c2 dodge cancel can stun lock a lynel with no attack speed. He was one of the best characters already without ex ability boost
Urbosa, Riju, Ganon were already a lot strong even before the buffs. But now they are just made more better Even for Terrako, his new buff gives him quicker access to WPG which is the best thing
Monk Maz Koshia, Calamity Ganon, Urbosa, Revali, Hestu, and Riju got some baller ass EX abilities +Maz Koshia's death laser is easily the best EX ability in the game, it's just Big Glowy Blast on steroids, which thoroughly compensates for his lackluster Runes. +Calamity Ganon can expose without Magnesis, maybe I can start using his Remote Bombs as finishers and get faster times with him... +Urbosa's lightning explosion is so awesome +Revali's Bomb Arrow Trap requires a bit of set up, but unlike his other stagger and expose, his C6, it does not force him onto the ground, which makes it far easier for him to abuse his strong ass Remote Bombs, which are the only ones that can receive boosts from Midair Attack Damage boost seals. +Hestu can finally stagger and expose without spamming C5 over and over +Riju's new Dash Attack requires good spacing, but it could definitely lead to some huge punishes on hit
Revali's tornado move (C5 i think?) will make the bomb arrows on the ground explode instantly if you land on them, its a super fun way of forcing out the wpg
I'll say it again, Daruk's time stasis is good when you got pillars setup which is how he is built. Not ideal most of the time but if you can get it setup the damage is pretty great.
10:38 their size is actually a strength, because no other character has the attack range they have. If you are surrounded by enemies just use their unique ability if it’s Mija or Tera, or press B and then Y to perform an attack that gets read of nearby enemies
I may be biased as a Maz Koshia main, but his EX legitimately turns him into a MONSTER You can stunlock Mutated Ganon indefinitely. Do C6 to gain all your symbols, then C6 + ZR Held to do his EX The hammer triggers the C6 spikeballs to shred like normal, while you do the EX laser and use all your symbols. During that, the spikeballs finish shredding and explode, and you get all your symbols back, Mutated Ganon is stunned, repeat C6 + ZR Held until dead (Note you may need Attack Speed for this to be a true stunlock, I haven't tried it with base weapons yet) It's genuinely insane how much damage he does.
I would like to inform you that you missed quite a bit with Shiekah Slate Zelda. Once you tell the bomb to charge, you can use B to return to controlling Zelda herself and the bomb will continue to charge. While the bomb is in this state, using ZR to manually detonate it triggers an enhanced explosion, with both a larger hitbox and greater impact - note that the automatic time-based detonation of the bomb doesn't gain very much at all from charging.
7:14 Well, I think using his C6 (or maybe C5 in some situations) is still best, even without attack speed. His ability takes quite a while to set up, and it only reveals a WPG, while his C6 and C5 do damage to the WPG as well.
As a Sidon main with stacked attack speed, this new EX Skill felt so underwhelming considering he can already tear through WPGs and basically stun lock as is.
For Maz Koshia, It's best to do a C6 and get all 6 balls out, and then immediately do his ZR ability, and then your symbols will be fully recharged when you're done with the attack.
Don’t throw the balls out. Once he brings them out THEN use his ZR ability. This’ll cause the balls to bounce continuously, damaging the boss even more WHILE he’s taking damage from the ZR ability then you get your full runes back to repeat the combo. No need to thank me. 👍
Maz Koshia's is absolutely broken, setting up a C6 to automatically refill his meter (which by itself was already amazing at stunning enemies and bringing out their weak point meter) then cycling with this allows him to plow through bosses like nothing.
DON'T GET URBOSA'S ENHACE ABILITY!!!!! if you don't, a weak-point smash will fully refill your meeter meaning you can get unlimited use of her EX ability without having to charge in between.
Links ex ability is pretty awesome 👌 after his 3rd combo hold x and run much faster like a ninja, you used to be able to do this on Definitive edition 😀
Are you planning on making an updated tier list including the updates/characters from DLC pack 2? Some characters got significantly better and I think it would be interesting to also compare the updated tier list to the original one, if you decided to make one. Edit: I’m dumb and didn’t watch through the whole video before making this comment, I’m definitely looking forward to the new tier list. Also, thank you for making this video, some of the enhanced abilities were vague/confusing and it’s great that someone took the time to explain them.
Idk if it’s the BEST ex ability, but my favorite is the monks big ass laser, it finally makes his giant form worth using. It would’ve been nice if the 8 new unique weapons would’ve did something special, because as far as I can tell, they’re actually not quite as good as normal base 76-80 weapons….weird and tbh, lazy as hell out of the developers…..I’d gladly trade em all for Astor lol
Thank you for this video, since I accidentally skipped past all the EX Abilities text after I got them, and had no way of reading the text that explains how they work again, or as far as my knowledge goes at least.
I honestly am replying entirely uninformed, but I know you can re-read the little quests that are giving items to people. It lets you see the text from the ending at least of how the people were impacted. That same screen might show these abilities? Like I said tho this is a guess
What are your thoughts on Rijus DLC weapon as opposed to her tier 3? The best DLC weapon is Daruks as far as hidden seals go and it's been my primary weapon over his Boulder Breaker.
First of all: Riju is actually a pretty strong character, she's just difficult to learn so most people think she sucks. Second: Daruk, while definitely at least a candidate for worst character, is still a lot better than than people usually give him credit for. His bomb rune in particular is very strong and when used properly can help him deplete wpgs quickly since his stasis isn't usually worth using.
12:10 That's not really the best way to play him... just reveal a WPG and then do repeated dodge-cancelled C1s. He was already high tier with his Magnesis and C1 as well. I was able to fully deplete WPGs with the Magnesis to C1s strat with a weapon with no good seals that was only at base power on hard mode when I needed to play as him for that one DLC battle in wave one.
Do you think there would be another wave of dlc? I'm sure they could've added misko the great bandit, or even Kass. Maybe even give us a great tease for botw 2
I don't think there will be another dlc, but I would love it if we got one! Kass would be great, I think Beetle and Flowerblight Gannon would be awesome too.
Damn, I just unlocked some of these. Still haven't played Calamity Ganon, Sooga and the scientists at all yet, so I don't know about them. But Sidon and Teba were my favourites before this. However this makes the Monk and Sidon so much more fun to play imo. Sidon was already really satisfying to use, but this is just that extra cherry on top, and Monk feels like he has a complete playstyle now. Before unlocking his EX I just felt like something was missing. It helps that both of these characters are really strong. Still really love Teba, but I think I prefer playing as these two now. Master Koga is also pretty fun so far.
You need to do the extra 'story' missions from guardian of remembrance. Most characters will get their EX ability quest after the mission they participate in (though you may need to do their base ability upgrade mission from later in the main story anyways; I had everything done before the DLC dropped so I don't know all the specifics for unlock requirements)
The Guardian of Remembrance DLC missions start popping up after the “Calamity Strikes” mission and will continue to pop up as you progress through the main story, with the final set of missions showing up after you complete the mission “The Great Plateau.” For the majority of the cast you will be able to unlock their EX ability immediately after completing their respective DLC mission, but there are some exceptions like Teba, Yunobo, and King Rhoam, who require their C5/6 combos to be unlocked in order for their EX ability quests to show up.
you can manually detonate those bomb arrorws by using his arial C5 or C6. this dramatically increases the damage of those moves, along with opening up the weak point gauge a bit longer.
Links 2-Handed buff does last long enough to be used... to ensure 1 full combo to start a stun lock chain. It is also great on higher difficulties when you won't 1-shot via weakpoint attacks. You can use this while waiting for the enemy to get back up and become vulnerable to weakpoint chains. ...the problem is this only helps novice players and teaches the player to tank hits rather then Flurry Rush. Even in its best case it encourages you to do bad and not do something which can be solved by just learning.
Why bother flurry rushing when your ZR empowered combos already have the same effect as the DLC enhanced ability allowing you to expose wpg, stasis it, break it if possible, and then armor your way through until your stasis is off cool-down. Admittedly, your effective HP might get a bit low, but you get to take advantage of damage below 30% hearts seals (temporary damage counts as missing HP for such purposes). Also, who the heck takes their chances going for flurry rushes, which can be rather inconsistent against tougher enemies, when playing on the harder difficulties where you die in just a few hits even with maxed health upgrades.
They should make proper balance patches and not just make these small changes. Daruk and Revali specially. They are 2 of the CHAMPIONS and are completely outclassed by everyone else. I would like this game so much more if playing as them wasn't so annoying. I also like Sidon and Rhoam. I think Rhoam has the most fun playstyle in the game. The problem with heavy hitters in musous is they have long actions that last long and look like are powerful but actually they aren't even double of quicker actions from the more "rushdown-like" characters.
If played correctly Revali is really strong. Just because WD put him as the 2nd worst character doesn't mean it's true, his extended C2 + C5 + Dodge canceled Stasis depletes WPG very well, he makes the most use of the midair attack damage seal (which gives the best power boost of all the seals), he flies fast, his crowd clearer abilities are just ridiculous, and his bombs while in the Air do massive damage to already exposed WPG
If you play on Xbox you should try one piece pirate warriors 4 on gamepass and maybe do a tier list it’s okay game sucks no English dub with some other issues but it’s fun for a warriors game story is restricted with character play sometimes but treasure mode is good since u can use everyone some characters really suck and some are really good I think a tier list would be cool for that though in ur opinion still waiting for another dynasty warriors game I think 9 empires is next which is good because it will have a dub for once
Doing this is not mandatory (so it doesn't waste his immunity) and it literally gives free WPG exposure, detonates the magma pillars and reflects guardian beams. You just need to time it right just like Sooga, 1H Link, Urbosa and Riju. How is that trash?
Was there anything that I missed about any of these EX abilities? Please let me know, as I want to take all information that I can in before finalizing my tier list and making that video!

It made it easier to set up traps with her bombs and to position them.

Daruk's Burst Attack also Advances and Explodes his Magma Pillars
According to me you missed two things
I will try to explain it as well as possible, English is not my main language
Zelda sheikah slate: When you control the remote bombs make it charge the explosion (i already forgot wich boton is that) then dodge cancel out (Obviously before it explodes) and press ZR
The explosion will be stronger and will force out the weak point of the enemy
(I use it in conjunction with magnesis, first I use magnesis and prepare it with the metal box of the first normal attack, Then I wait a moment to let recharge the timer to use the sheikah slate again and use the remote bombs as I described before, that completely destroys the weak point)
Revali: Those bombs that he places can be exploded instantly using combos 5 and 6, the ones that make you return to the ground, only you need to hit the bombs They won't explode if you fall too far from them And they will force out the weak point
Great video! I’m looking forward to the updated tier list
I like the Monk's. His character before was like, "Come, let us play a game!" and after it's like, "I summon Blue-eyes Ultimate Dragon! Neutron Blast Attack!!"
Monk Yu Ge O
Yunonbo: Gets a C7, the only character in the game to have it
Link: You can run while holding a charge, yay!
Fun tactic
If you get a mighty lynel sword level 30
You can get some kills just by running around the field thanks to his 12% insta kill chance on mob enemies
Yeah. I do that a lot. It looks cool too.

bokoblin: "AH ITS LINK!" (immediately dies)
Maz Koshia C6 + Ex ability = Infinite boss destroyer.
Yeah. To me he got the best EX ability. Then Urbosa and Daruk.
4:23 This is probably a reference to the "daruk's perfect parry" advanced technique in botw.
If you can make a tier list for specifically for apocalyptic difficulty that would be great.
4:22 They really made a (much more precise) glitch from BotW a feature in Age of Calamity.
I think my favorite one is Maz Koshia's new ability. I get one rune through the electric ball move, bring up the metal spheres you can hammer into bouncing up and down. Full rune meter, and then do it again, but blast a huge laser out and watch the WPG melt away.

Use Maz Koshia's extended C6 to get all his symbols right away, then combo your C6 into a Death Laser. Everything will die!
I just use electric ball and hammer the shrine, you get full bars with that easily
Yunobo's Orange Barrier is the best.
Also about Calamity Ganon, he is already good and didn't need his Calamity Mode all the time. His attacks are strong and his Magnesis and Bombs already reveals WPGs too.

You just earned a sub.❤
Why did they nerf Yunobo’s C5 cancel 😭
Thank you for this video, since I accidentally skipped past all the EX Abilities text after I got them, and had no way of reading the text that explains how they work again, or as far as my knowledge goes at least.
I honestly am replying entirely uninformed, but I know you can re-read the little quests that are giving items to people. It lets you see the text from the ending at least of how the people were impacted. That same screen might show these abilities? Like I said tho this is a guess
@@harrisonwhaley7872 every time I do that it just gives some closure on the mini plotline that the quest gives you.
@@HCN-002OldChannel thanks for letting me know. I’m glad then that this video is out there
when in the character select screen press a on the part with the characters hearts shown, it's show you they're combos and ability descriptions
@@A-Microwave thank you.
What are your thoughts on Rijus DLC weapon as opposed to her tier 3? The best DLC weapon is Daruks as far as hidden seals go and it's been my primary weapon over his Boulder Breaker.
Riju's Tier 3 is way better than her DLC weapon, she needs to spam as many Dash Attack seals as humanly possible
Am I the only one waiting for Fi to just pop out of the master sword and say "Well I guess it's time for me" and becomes a playable character
“The least effective character in the game.”
Dude, I’m a Daruk main. That hurt me. 😢
Dude, why do you play as the worst character in the game?
Because of Daruk’s Depression?
Yeah, no.
@@catalyst539
I play him because his guard is very strong and those magma traps are very powerful when you set them up right.
@@rodrickgoldberg2324
His guard is the best, correct. However his magma pillars are weak. Weaker than Riju.
Can you do weapon build recommendations for the tier 4 weapons for the Champions, Teba, Riju, Sidon, and Yunobo?
12:10 That's not really the best way to play him... just reveal a WPG and then do repeated dodge-cancelled C1s.
He was already high tier with his Magnesis and C1 as well. I was able to fully deplete WPGs with the Magnesis to C1s strat with a weapon with no good seals that was only at base power on hard mode when I needed to play as him for that one DLC battle in wave one.
Iirc the electric debuff from Gannon's magnesis makes the wpg deplete the same regardless of difficulty, so that might have contributed.
Nothing for Purah & Robbie or for Sooga?
Or the wave 1 characters
Nope, since all 3 DLC characters aren’t part of the base-game roster. The EX abilities are exclusive to the characters you get it the main game.
They should probably change the weak point mechanic in the next game. Feels like it should be a bonus instead of a necessity.
Who are your go to characters🤔
Anyone know where I could get a good written compendium on all the moves that reveal weak point gauges?
I need that 😐
How many hours do you have on the game?

@@warriorsdojo6044 wow that's a lot less than I thought. I was thinking 300+
I think it would be cool if they brought back Lana and Cia.
How do you unlock these EX abilities? I have both DLC and am about halfway through the main campain.
How to you get Tebas 6th strong attack?
Sidon has a move set close to toshiie from samurai warriors.
Have they fixed the fps drops in this game?
King's is marginally useful? Do you just not like him? Or just dont use him? Being able to essentially spam heavies is great
i have encountered a glitch where i would get impas enhanced c1 without having bought the doc, please give me a reason why this has happened
ps i meant dlc not doc
My only gripe with Revali’s EX ability is that the bomb arrows take to long to detonate.
you can manually detonate those bomb arrorws by using his arial C5 or C6. this dramatically increases the damage of those moves, along with opening up the weak point gauge a bit longer.
Oh really? I was worried if I did certain strong attacks, it would cancel out the EX ability.
Wait.... was battle tested guardian left out of the ex ability party?
Yes, since they weren’t part of the base-game roster.
Riju got another busted dash attack… hylia dammit Nintendo
Bro they gave spear Link Sonic blade from kingdom hearts
Daruk’s imo is trash.
It doesn’t do very good, especially considering it’s literally wasting his damage immunity with his protection.
Doing this is not mandatory (so it doesn't waste his immunity) and it literally gives free WPG exposure, detonates the magma pillars and reflects guardian beams. You just need to time it right just like Sooga, 1H Link, Urbosa and Riju. How is that trash?
