- In this tutorial, I show you how to change the key fob battery of a Honda Ridgeline (2006-2014). There is only 1 screw that holds the keyless entry remote together, but then a flathead screwdriver must be used to pry the various pieces apart and remove the old battery.

I would have given this video a like except the most important part was completely left out. What sort of battery you need for a Honda Ridgeline key fob.
I know.... how dumb, right?
IKR HE HAS 1 IQ I BET THAT HE DIDNT GET A HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA
It literally says on the battery what battery it is
Check out his drum tutorial videos
@@ladyshaylala3870 I want to buy the battery while out shopping and change when I get home…..so having the size would be amazing
Thank you so much!! It was easier than expected 😊
Battery is a CR1616 (or equivalent variant - DL1616, BL1616, 1616).
What about polarity? Which side up?
Tip: Use the blue Loctite to help hold the screw in.
If you watch his video carefully, you can determine which way to place the bettery.
Excellent directions, and discussion through what needed and how replace the battery. The hard part was trying to find a battery, in our case - a 16-16 button. Finally found one set at Wallgreens. Thanks bunches... we had one remote that worked and one that was dead. .. and wanted two or both drivers and backup. :)
Thanks man!!
Great video, and excellent instructions. Thank you sir for taking your time to make this video. I see that there are a bunch of thumbs down, as well as people commenting that you didn't mention the type of battery required. This is the problem with our country. Lazy-ass complaining people want to be spoon-fed information.
Simply flip the battery over to get the proper nomenclature. There is a + sign on the battery and also on the battery "seat." This indicates the proper positioning of the battery. If in doubt, take a pic before removing the battery.
lol. I'm going to place the screw where I won't loose it. Here is some nice deep shag carpet that is shades of dark colors deep in the shag. I will put the screw right here where it is nearly guaranteed to be lost forever.
It would be nice to know what size battery. I sure don't want to take the key apart then have to hunt down or order a battery.
What size battery is it?
Good job
It is so important that you have a quality properly sized phillips head. It will stay in place nicely without Loctite. Once Loctited you may never get it out again.
What is the proper size phillips head?
That's why I taped it 😁😂😂
I found out the hard way that mine had a U plastic clip on both ends the corner.
Since this video is good…except for the number one thing that you need to know….what battery. I will give you the info.
I literally went into a store and had to buy a screwdriver instead of a battery because this video didn’t say but the battery in my 2013 ridgeline is CR 1616 and when you look at the plastic case it goes in there is a positive side to tell you which way the battery goes. The factory battery and this one was made by Panasonic and as of the time I am posting this comment we have never changed it so the Panasonic one must be decent.
Why do you not have have battery size? Doesn’t make sense to do a how-to video without that information.
Thank you.
Thanks for the instructions. Unfortunately the head of the screw on my key is all worn out and I can't get it out... Any advices? Thanks in advance
There are a few methods to getting it out. My best bet would be to use A TON of pressure on the screwdriver while trying to loosen it. Once you get it to turn 1/4 of a turn, it'll be much easier to remove!
Heat the screw up with a heat gun if you have it.
@@michaelbarber5651 Would that melt the plastic on the faub?
@@allanblackford3156 It will possible melt the threads on the screw and you will need to create new threads with glue.
What size phillips head is needed?
Well, I didn't have the problem so many of you critics here have with the specific battery not being specified. As soon as you follow his excellent instructions to remove the battery, simply LOOK AT THE BATTERY to see which one it is! Pretty easy.
Hey genius! What size battery?! WTF?!
Ty Sir
Doing this on shad carpet gives me OCD
All that blather and no mention of the battery type.
Pretty harsh of you. Omission of the battery type does not reduce his excellent video to "blather."
