The cutesy aesthetics in Sky really do a great job of making you forget that the game takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where everyone is dead and ghosts make random kids run errands for them all the time.

@@nexus6354 I mean, yeah. It takes place after whatever happened in Eden spread darkness all over the world of Sky and aside from other players, all the characters you meet are spirits from the past. And you do quests for them so they're free from the darkness and can ascend into the constellations.

There is an omnipresent theme of grief with all those spirits attached to the location of their most defining memories, there are remnants of a brutal war, and the locations are colorful and bright for the most part, but they're also mostly ruins and wilderness. There at hints at violence, animal cruelty (with the capture of the mantas and the extraction of light until they mutated into krills), death pretty much everywhere, war and the trauma that comes with it, destruction of natural habitats, etc... When you sit down and take a second to think about it, it gets really dark, really fast.
I hope in future updates they bring in a bit more trees or just make some parts of the area more shaded, cause at the moment it feels a bit too bright. That was my favorite part of the project aviary trailer, like the aviary is an amalgam of all the realms. But at the moment, it kinda just feels like the praire instead of all of them.
@@nanahudec9718 Eh, I've been playing Sky for 2.5 years and have never been to Eden myself, and I don't feel "left out" of anything, nor stunted in growth. I have 9 cape wedges (max is 12), which is plenty to do whatever you want. Because of shard events (and the big giveaway from the last mini-event), I have over 100 ascended candles, and that's with me spending on travelling spirits and other things for a while. My wife plays and goes through Eden regularly, and I don't see anything she can do that I can't. In fact, when we play, I'm generally the one "driving" so we get along just fine on my 9 wedges (helped, of course, by light regen by holding hands). So IMHO, if someone doesn't want to go through Eden, they don't have to, and it'll be fine.
@cryzleyrarugal you go to Eden to loose all your wings. For that you get ac and can buy wingbuffs. That gives you more flaps. You can take shortcut to wingcave 😉

Basically, finish all the realms. New players doing this quest might not have all the realms finished, so they would have to finish all realms. For players who have, they just have to go through eden.

I wonder what the theories are behind the spirits when you come back from Eden and they arrive in the Aviary. Like, is this place supposed to be the game's interpretation of "heaven," and that's where all the spirits go when they die / are freed?
@@johnathan1506 I did it yesterday because I forgot to do it sunday and I had to catch up on all the wl I WOULD HAVE collected on Sunday AND Monday. Why don't you try collecting 125 WLs in 2 days. 😑
