I am so honored to have found your video. Thank you for passing your knowledge on to us in such a beautiful way.
Just a dad here wanting to make something for my two girls, thank you so much for the video, you are wonderful, and I feel blessed to find your video to learn this.
Many thanks. IM Onondaga and it’s been decades since my grandma showed me so this refresher very much helped me with my wedding moccasins. giving my thanks to you especially on the big day!!!
Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for passing down your knowledge with younger generations!!
thank you for passing on your wisdom, I love it, I walk in the footsteps of my ancestors, love, Line
I love your classes and appreciate the knowledge. Thank you.❤ my grandma’s passed early and maybe didn’t know how to make these herself. The advice is needed but not always given in my community.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge, your truth and your wisdom. What a beautiful woman you are.
Love the tradition and wisdom❤
Society is trying there best to kill off any self reliance! I'm trying my best to gather knowledge to pass on to my son and daughter! Thank you for the knowledge! I will try this with deer hide that I have to start with.
Thank you for doing the stretch part. I was confused with it
You have so much information I love it
I don’t know if your Pearl? I just read about your husband and his generous soul he had with family and friends.
Found the article on google, very well written.
Wishing you and your family much happiness from Tucson, Arizona and thanks for the wonderful videos.🌵
Do you use a waxed linen thread or a synthetic thread? You are such a good grandmother. I wish mine had taught me how to do things. You used your hands to put it in the sewing machine. lol. So it hand sewn. Hehehe!!!! Great job. Thank you for the tutorial.
New world order don't want us to have our routes. They want us to forget them. Because, it's much easier to manipulate with people without routes. We now that and understand that very well . Be strong, be well. Big support and love from Serbia.🙏🏻👏👌❤
I lift my hands in thanks to you.
Please… I want to make these. Where can I source the hide from?
Where are you located? you can find tandy leather all over the place and there are lots of great smaller places like mosco hide and fur
Amazing thank u
Wish my grandmother could have taught me how. I can say my mother- taught my kids how to! Returning to the circle! One @ a time!
Growing up in the city along with my entire family- my grandmother did not bead, no longer spoke the language well meshed into the eastern (American) ways! Before she returned my auntie her eldest helped guide my grandmother and her twin back to the circle! At this point many of my family have returned and walk this path! All of my grandmothers greats babies ALL walk this path. The prophecies have shown this to us!😊
I'm number 500 likes. Congrats
Good camera angles.
Die Mocassins sind wunderschön ! Ich habe sie aus einer alten Jeans genäht bevor ich mit dem kostbaren Leder anfange. Ich brauche die Schuhe eine Nummer kleiner. Also muss ich 1/2 Inch weniger machen.
Can I ask, what size moccasin are you making in the video? A size 8?
Yes it’s a size 8
Excelente trabajo. Es una lastima que no esten habilitados los subtítulos automáticos en español. Me encantaría poder leer los comentarios e indicaciones de la señora, de seguro muy instructivos. Gracias por la enseñanza y saludos desde España.
Theres gotta be an app for that!! Lol
This is wonderful what a beautiful woman. Where is this place? Her store should be mentioned. I would like to contact these people. I would like to learn more. How can I do that?
I too would love to visit her store.
How do I use this method for different foot sizes?
She said add a half inch for each size up and I have to watch the video 37:49 again to see what size she started with
Chi Miigwech for sharing
What range should be the thickness of the hide?
Is it size 8 inch you are making?
I saw another guy make moccasins and he actually made a pattern of his foot started with the right foot and then you just flip it over to the left foot so just trace around your foot and then do the half Inch thing up or down
I see at 9:34 when she is showing measurements she has "size 8" written on the paper
❤
I so wished i had a mom or a grandmother or a auntie to teach me
Ok what is the name of disappearing ink pen ?
So I did a mock up in fabric so I didn’t waste my leather….. it appears the size 8 pattern she is using is a men’s size. Mine came out way too big, I will be making an adjustment. Also the vamp size needs to be changed if you are making bigger sizes
Dear Veronika, is it appropriate for non-First Nations/Native Americans to learn how to make them?
Lol it depends on who you ask and there mood! I say anyone helping to preserve our culture and traditions is a friend of mine. I’m Onondaga and taking knowledge from several different tribes for both my moccasins and dress. how else do we as a collective people learn and grow if not for one another, no matter our ancestry or backgrounds??? Those who do not learn from the past afterall are doomed to repeat it. Blessings friend and if anyone gives you grief for making and wearing moccasins tell them to walk in them before judging.
@@ashleybrier7788I love your answer!
Hi
I would really appreciate knowing what size pattern you made in this video.
Best explanation if pattern making I have seen.
Still working in the pleating.
The first nations group here does it differently but tge Inuit planting is similar to yours except that they gather the leather before sewing it to the vamp.
Thanks for sharing your knowledge
Im not good with numbers. It might be possible to calculate ratios…
size 8 is written on the pattern
Help! Lol I have been racking my brain and stabbing my fingers 😂 trying to figure out the puckering. My brain just isn’t getting it. Anyone else figure it out?
Me tooooo. I’m watching the video again to try to get that pucker technique
Can u help me
A slower or close up of the puckering technique would be great thanks.
👍👍👍
How do you adjust for different sizes?
She’s making a size 8. So add 1/2 an inch for increased sides to subtract to go a size down. (Don’t for get it’s opposite w the 2 inward heel cuts for each foot)
Increased size* not sides haha
