it is amazing to me that the Americas were isolated from the rest of the world for thousands of years. Both the "New World " and the " Old World" developed complex societies with different customs, foods and beliefs. Even though some had come to the Americas from other places before, it was the expedition led by Columbus that made the meeting of two worlds into a permanent thing. When I was young, I always thought that the natives of the Americas were very backward, but they had many progressive inventions and discoveries. Thanks for enlightening all of us.

My grandmothers grandmother was Native American. She crossed the Mojave, the Rocky Mountains, and the Great Plains and moved to Ohio. She died at 26 giving birth to her second daughter, whom died as well. Vague reminder that the leading cause of death in women for millions of years has been childbirth until our medical expertise revolutionized and I want to thank humanity for changing the leading cause of death in Women. You deserve everlasting praise and applause from Women for that.

Can you imagine how different the world would be if the culture wasn’t destroyed, this is beautiful.
May I also remind you of the fact that our Native American population in our motherland, the Continent of America before the European Colonizers arrived, was around 15 millions, while the European population in their motherland, the Continent of Europe was around 25 millions.
Today, Native American population is 15 million, while the European population, in the Continents of America + Europe, is a staggering TWO BILLION! A shockingly sad truth. 😔
In my humble opinion, it's about time to decolonize the Colonized lands, and return to rightful owners Native American people.
Notorious global cardinal crimes the Christian West has committed, and benefited a great deal, such as centuries-long global Slavery & Colonialism had long been over, why on earth is notorious Colonization still lingering on, may I ask? 🤷

@@NurseVic-sy5nd Native Americans came from Asia 20,000 years ago when Europeans came from the Middle-East some 45,000 years ago.
This land is their one and only ASSET. Their beloved motherland that their ancestors forebears had lived through thick and thin, and endured through hardships of all sorts for so long. With their main ASSET being taken away from them, their IDENTITY, their DIGNITY, their POPULATION and most of all, their FUTURE are all but gone. That's a sad truth indeed.
All they Native American people need is their beloved motherland back, the lands that their ancestors' forebears had lived through thick and thin, endured through hardships and all for tens of thousands of years.
May I ask, why not let Native Americans have Europe, since Europeans have had both North/South America Continents already; a fair deal?

A lot of the oral histories are subject to the memories of the subjects, and in the event it's remembered with 100% accuracy it is usually filtered through to interpret what is meant by some stories , for example the tribe of hairy wildmen and the things they did, do you say they're sasquatch or just a barbaric more savage tribe? Anytime magic is involved or supernatural you have figure out what was meant.
This has been a problem with societies that have no written record, and you have to interpret oral history or the written record of a different civilization or in some cases a different tribe

Now, if u are referring to the Zapotec, Maya, Mixe, Otomi who have migrated to California as ‘pure Latinos’ well, they are Indigenous American. De Vaca was first European on US soil and wrote memoirs about his years as a slave with different tribes. The tribes basically looked for food 24 hour hours a day. Usually they survived on nuts acorns grubs, remember this was before the horse so the tribes were on foot and had dogs drag the supplies. Basically it was hell. Starvation and survival was what natives did back then. A terrible existence.

"De Vaca was first European on US soil " in the mid 1500's? Maybe, as a child, you missed the song, "In fourteen hundred ninety-two Columbus sailed the ocean blue?" De Vaca was only two years old when Europeans discoverd America. Also, the life you describe for tribes is only relatable to certain tribes in the deep Southwest. Eastern and Southeastern tribes planted crops and lived in small villages. In fact, it was maize he and his soldiers looted from the Southeastern tribes that kept them alive as they ventured west. He documented that one of their raids on a village, found the village burned but "The fileds were left unharvested"....and they looted from these.
