“Separate my body from worth” this is such a good point Kath. When I personally gain weight I feel like I’m worth less and have got to lose it to be as valuable as I was before. But now I’m beginning to be like, “is this true? Did my worth actually ever change?” Thank you ladies for this vulnerable and thought provoking episode.

So true, not sure your stance on faith but I believe god made everyone in his perfect image, meaning nothing you do or what you look like has any value over anyones worth

@@hudlepie953 yes! Agreed. Everyone is born valuable and you can’t change that.

Amy’s point about the people who set the “beauty standard” is such a good point!
I’ve had 2 kids, I didn’t expect to “bounce back” but I did expect to eventually get back. And it’s not just the pant size, it’s peeing when I sneeze, having trouble doing core workouts, or etc… I don’t know if those things will ever go away. My body CHANGED and it probably won’t change back.

To what Kat was saying about flat stomachs showing availability during the primal era, it's so interesting. There was an episode in The Office when Pam was pregnant with her second kid and she asked Dwight, "do you find me attractive?" And Dwight said, "why would I or anyone else find your attractive, I can't impregnate you and that's the primal force that drives men and woman together." Not word by word, but that was the jist of it. Very thought provoking. Love you girls!

Like you are my sisters and friends! Would love to meet you all one day! Also love how you incorporate your faith! Also the way kath always says good for you or proud of you. It shows the kind nature of hers. You are all so supportive of one another and so heartwarming to see! Carry on doing what you guys love and May God guide you in everything! Proverbs 3:5,6

Wow, It's so interesting how you point out those subconscious expectations and rules that we have. I've never had any body image issues aside from small insecurities here and there, but I didn't realize that even though I really want to be pregnant one day, I was actually scared of all the changes. And seeing a video of you guys a few years ago versus now, the difference. Only being 19 almost 20 I'm seeing how those are "Hollywood," literal terrible men's, ideas for us. And the roots of wanting people to be attracted to you for underlying reasons of just wanting to be loved even though you may have never necessarily felt unloved... wow. It's like these things I subconsciously believed, but consciously knew were wrong are all being brought to my attention.
Talk about growth. It's okay to not feel okay, each season has a reason. 😉
Reminds me of that We Are Messengers song (Maybe It's Okay).

Love this so much, I’m a mum of two (3 years old and 10 months old) and I’ll never forget my first outing with my second about 4 weeks post birth.. i had a c section so I couldn’t drive my car and I got on a bus to go see my friend for lunch, on the way home this man asked me if I was pregnant and I was so sad as id made an effort with this lovely dress but my tummy which of course was still swollen post op and baby and full after lunch was popping out a bit. And even though I know that man was rude and shouldn’t have said anything i still feel conscious about it now!

Ladies, as always, you have made my week. Thank you so much for sharing your stories.
Christina mentioned that different women have different post-partum experiences. Having had 4 babies in 5 years, I would add that the same person can have varied experiences from baby to baby. I am now 8 months PP from my fourth and still really struggling with a lot of the things you're discussing. These podcast videos, as well as some of Katherine's recent videos on her channel, have been really helpful in granting myself some grace while also focusing on small changes that can help me get back on track to keep up with my kiddos.

I have an auto immune disease affecting my SI joints. It’s the joints connecting your pelvic bone to your hip bone it’s all around that area that’s why when you have a side pain it can affect your entire leg. It’s crazy but mines chronic and the joints are being attacked by my own immune system so I have to give myself injections weekly to reduce the damage by weakening my immune system
