Thank you Azure Family! I came across a vacuum chamber last year that I just love for sealing jars. It's made from pvc pipe with a gamma type lid. At the bottom is a fitting to attach a hose. You can use a Food Saver but I chose to use a brake bleeder. I vacuum seal dried fruits, spices and powders (eggs, cheese and tomato).

Thank you for taking the time to provide storage information. It was exceedingly helpful. I am somewhat new to the storage process and I appreciate the insight.

Thank you!, good information. A hair iron works great for sealing those Mylar Bags. I like to make sure my buckets/bags are as full as I can get them so there is less oxygen to take out. Also wheat and oat groats can be cooked whole and eaten like rice with butter if you don't have a wheat grinder.

I've been wanting to shop here but I don't think I can shop every month. Can I just place orders as I need rather than every month or a set schedule like that? Hope someone can answer my question. Thanks! 😀
You could miss out on using Azure Cash, a small percentage to use towards your next purchase, if you wait too long before your next order. But there is no commitment to order each month. if your orders are small, you will only be losing a small potential savings if your Azure Cash expires. The semi will also only deliver if the area has enough ordered, so your order could be postponed for a month and you won't be charged until they load your order.

Maple syrup can keep a very long time in sealed jars. We make out own and it keeps for years just in canned mason jars. Stories have been told of barrels of maple syrup found in old barns...still good. If it is finished at the right sugar content, it will keep very well. I don't know why they said they it doesn't keep without refrigeration.
if its bottled properly its fine forever. once it is open, tho ... can need refrigeration. (similar to jelly, which can sit on the counter fine for a while, but sometimes not...)

I absolutely love ordering from you all and appreciate being able to shop this way. I tried one 5 gallon bucket last summer with the gamma seal lid and it was great so I I ordered a couple more 5 gallon buckets from you last September with 2 gamma seal lids and the lids wont go on for anything! I have had several very strong people try but they are warped and the rings will not fit on the buckets. It was very dissapointing. Even that wood and hammer trick would not work.
Try heating the band in the sun or near a heat register in the house. Make sure to unscrew the cap then use a rubber mallet to pound the ring on the bucket edge
I found it easiest to place the entire lid (lid plus ring) on the bucket, making sure to align it correctly, then using a wall or chair back for stability, I stepped onto the lid. Once on the lid, use one foot at a time to stomp the lid into place by stomping around the edge.
