I worked in the ER at the university of Virginia. This hospital is a level one trauma center, other hospitals would send their bad pts to us. I was a volunteer medic on our local rescue squad for 20 years. I absolutely loved my job. I started on the squad when I was 15, EMT by the time I was 16. This was back in the 80's, you wouldn't Be able to do that now. A lot of people just don't realize what all we see and still have to keep a smile on your face because the next patient deserves to be taken care of, this could possibly be one of the worst days of their lives.
I so love watching these Hospital “Skits from the ER” videos. I have to keep reminding myself that all the staff are actually one person! I can’t be the only one, can I? Please keep them coming. It cheer’s me up when I’m feeling crap as I have CML. 😅🤣😆🙏🏼
This happened to Skinny Noodle once when I was out of town. Fellow came charging up to the admittance desk. "What's Going On", he bellowed. "I've Been Waiting Here For THIRTY! WHOLE! MINUTES!!!" Skinny Noodle, with her knee excruciatingly out of whack, had been patiently waiting (amidst gun shot victims & car wreck casualties arriving by ambulance) for two hours with the expectations of another two to go. She DID Burst Out Laughing While Attempting To Stuff A Blanket In Her Mouth To Stifle The Noise - while seated in a wheelchair RIGHT IN FRONT OF EVERYBODY!
