    Was searching for info about the Monte Carlo tree search algorithm and found your channel by chance. This looks exactly like the kind of game I love. Good luck with your release!

    Creating your own card game is very ambitious, I really admire that :O Looking forward to see more about how you build the world around it! Maybe a modern take on the old Game Boy game of the Pokémon TCG? :D

    All is looking very cool! However, do you feel like adding in too many RPG elements might cause your game to end up becoming just "Stardew Valley clone with card game elements" as opposed to it's own unique thing? I'm excited for it either way, but I have a feeling that too many mechanics might end up detracting from the card game experience.

    • @CurryOnRice
      @CurryOnRice  26 дней назад

      That's a really good point, and one that I've brood over. For now, I want to maintain the "card game with rpg elements" rather than "rpg game with cards", so it's definitely true that too many mechanics can turn it more into an RPG than a card game. My goal is to make a lot of things more streamlined (i.e. there's no inventory management, planting just needs a right-click with no watering) such that playing the card game takes most of your time. For me though, the most important thing is that it's fun, regardless of whether it tips more to one side or the other. After I release the demo in a few months, I'll try to take some time to absorb all the feedback and reshape the game into a more fun experience for everyone!

    Hey! This looks awesome! Do you need music for this? I am an audio engineer and composer.

      hey, thank you for your comment and for reaching out! at this point in time i'm not looking for any help (with music or otherwise), and will probably be doing my own music at least tentatively. towards the end of this project as it fleshes out i might start looking for a composer or also for help in other parts of the game. thank you kindly though!

      I’m using Godot 4.3 and C# on the card game itself

      @@CurryOnRice Maybe you can make some godot tutorials when the game is finished. I've been trying to learn about godot and programming in general but certain things go over my head. Like whats a json file and why does it make certain things easier. Maybe more in depth about the translating part or how to create the deck builder system or whatever. The list could go on and on

      @@iamgoo It's actually something I considered doing after the game is finished, but this is a long-term project that might take years so I wouldn't hold my breath for it ahah. Honestly, learning programming is really hard if you don't have a background on it, you just slowly get better over the years as you keep practicing. A json file is a type of file that holds some type of data. For example, a "shop item" json might contain multiple entries for items in your shop, like: "Name: Carrot; Price: 20; RequiresUnlock: False". If you're learning programming, theres A LOT you will need to learn, and data models like these are something you will have to learn in the future (i.e. how does your game store this kind of information on what items there are, what cards exist, ...). I recommend this tutorial when you're ready: ruclips.net/video/4vAkTHeoORk/видео.html
      I would also say, just take everything one step at a time, there's no rush to learn everything at once
