Wait wutttt!!! An EPI on this channel is EPIc!!! I love how once in a while these sub $1k guitars just catches your eye. Afterall, a good guitar is a good guitar!
Duuude! I seriously wasn't quiet certain on this model. I remembered that you made this video. So here I am just blown away but how crazy awesome this guitar sounds! The craftsmanship is way awesome as well! So yeah, I'm gonna grab one!
Let me know what you think dude! Rock on! I did eventually change the pups, they're good for an 899 guitar but I put dimarzios in it, made it that much better
@TheNeuroticGuitarist Well I did it! I grabbed one, but in black. I won't lie, I was a bit disappointed when I got it. The neck was way off & I had to adjust the truss rod & drop the bridge some. There's a volume pot that looks to be bent. On the upside, I was planning on yanking out the guts & replacing the pots with push/pull pots & throwing in some custom Jim Wagner Pickups. I think that the coil splitting will just ad that much more diversity in it's tonal options. I can definitely see this becoming an awesome work horse! I'm glad I caught your review on the guitar because that's definitely what sold me on getting one! 🤘🤘
Totally relate man! I remember how sub par Epiphones felt in the early 2000s when I was starting out. I wrote off the brand for years and only wanted Gibsons. That changed over the last year. I tried some newer Epiphone models and was blown away. I ended up buying the Epi Joe Bonamassa ES-335 and Adam Jones Les Paul Custom and enjoy them both as much as my Gibsons. Epiphone as a brand had really stepped it up in recent years. For the money, they’re great value.
@@TheNeuroticGuitarist Well said! It’s nice to see them offer cool and unique specs and features that are hard to find on Gibson models. For many of these Epiphones, the closest Gibson versions like the Dave Grohl ES-335 or 70s Norlin silver burst Les Paul would probably cost thousands and be unobtainable for many.
@shaddymd5177 the thing is that this guitar is not only distinctly its own this, but esthetically it's gorgeous. I'm excited to get these dimarzios in it and make her a forever guitar! Thanks for watching

Dude, I absolutely love Epiphone. Like I wrote in another post, I highly prefer the headstock angle compared to Gibson's 17 degree neck dive angle. I own the Epi LP modern and it's down right awesome! You rocked that Epi EWS!!
So glad you like it! The white does look freaking sharp! Now you know why I always call Epiphone the "Baseball cards" of guitars! Collect them all!!! LOL!!!

I just got mine last week. I absolutely love it. Feel and sound are both exceptional. The only thing I’d change would be to put an ebony fretboard on it. Mine has a relatively dark piece of Laurel and it’s really nicely figured. Lots of streaking. But I love an ebony fretboard.
The ebony boards are super nice but it'd definitely drive up the price considerably. I actually just changed the pickups and pots on mine and now it's perfect!
I tried out a black one a few months ago and nearly bought it. Some of those Epi semi-hollows are sick guitars, Bobkats and wildkats and all that. I dont personally think as much of the Epi LPs. Enjoy it!!
I'm not a fan of the epi versions of gibson guitars, not because some of them aren't awesome, I just want the real thing. This guitar has its own distinct identity and is not a copy of a Gibson. The sheraton was one of the models from epi I'd want and the fact it has the vintage headstock and inlays, but then all those unique features just makes it it's own thing. And I love it.
@TheNeuroticGuitarist exactly. The models I liked weren't the "inspired by Gibson", as they just dont feel the same as a Gibson. The sub-$1k semis are as good as any of the Gretsch, etc stuff at the same price, and the headstocks with inlays/binding actually look good as compared to the plain headstocks on their other models.
@RByrne the setup on this guitar is also incredible. It rings like a bell and I can dig into it and it stays perfectly in tune. The action is perfect. It plays awesome from the lowest to the highest fret. It's literally what I would expect from a 5k gibson. The only thing my buddy cory mentioned to me is that it plays and sounds great but something about it felt cheap to him, I'm thinking the glossy neck.
I love it Josh. I actually loved it so much I put dimarzios and better electronics in it because as great as the guitar was, I have pickups worth as much. So now she's a forever axe. Should do a video on my mods

I’ve had the original black version for over a year now. It’s probably my favorite guitar to play. Only issue is a wonky low E tuner that seems to be an issue on some of them. Very slim neck by the way.

Nice guitar! Love the all white - it really pops. The body looks deeper than a 335 - maybe it's just the white but am curious if it is. Great find - and with it being an Epiphone you can smash it, light it on fire, ram the headstock through a Marshall Origin 4x12 cabinet and not feel one bit guilty - except for the poor dude who has to clean up the mess! ROCK ON BENNY!!
Would you say that this guitar is an improvement on the standard epiphone gibson inspired 335 type of guitar..? . I know that this one is a sheraton and is a signature.. but is it worth the extra 300 bucks..? .. I do like the look and and sound of it. You did an excellent demo.
I don't have much experience with the epiphone 59 so I can't speak to it, but I really love this guitar for what it is. I wasn't in love with the pickups so I have changed them since this video, so that would be a huge part of my decision. That said l, just for the looks and the quality of the feel, I can't imagine that guitar being better, but the pickups aren't to die for
I haven't personally played one but I think epiphone has upped their game substantially in the last five years. It's all about how it feels to YOU! happy playing Chris
Cool guitar for sure. I dig semi hollows. I had a 2010's limited edition Epi 335, a B B King sig and a fairly rare 90's Sheraton II in white. Dude, is that copy of Yesterday....And Today on the wall a covered up Butcher album??? Oh, I left the story about Gene Simmons wanting to kick my ass in the comments of that Dime/Vinny vid. Right on & rock on my man! \m/
It absolutely is. It's a "second state," so it's a butcher baby album with the second day sticker still on it. Really good example. I nerd out over music memorabilia as much as guitars so if you watch any of my videos you'll def see some wild stuff in the background
That's awesome man , I used to collect autographs. There was a time when I had every Beatles album, all original and all in great shape. In general I just love limited edition and rare things I'm addicted to them!!! And I was still adding on to my comment above I got why Gene Simmons was wanting to kick my ass in the Darrell and Vinnie vid. So yeah man, right on!
Oh man, years ago I almost bought one of those white Sheratons, which is a mistake I certainly regret. This Emily Wolfe Sheraton eases the pain of that mistake. 😉

I have a Joe Bonnamassa Epi 64’ Firebird reissue, the original hardware was junk, I believe it was intended as a wall hanger, $900, but the wood, they did it right, I put $1100 of new hardware with 3 Pick ups on it, unfortunately I had to get a bone nut & a refret before it would play/sound good. This Emily Wolfe Axe is ready to go, mine is 6 years old now, Epiphone has upped their game here, you aren’t the only one saying it’s great. I had to invest money I can’t get back, this 335, this already there!😀
You're paying for the name Joe bonamassa, I guarantee he's making way more a guitar than Emily Wolfe. The electronics and pickups were OK, but I just spent 300 and upgraded them to dimarzio. Didn't hold a candle to my es335 and the 57s in it. Now it wins.
@@TheNeuroticGuitarist I really like stud tailpiece, (that’s why, Joe and epi reissues, & that ancient fender amp he resurrected recently) wrap around bridges, my SG has a tone pros wrap around, the Revstar does too, PRS SE hollow has his design wrap around, and I love firebirds, I NEVER thought I could afford one…..it ain’t worth nothin’. being an EPI, but nobody has one quite like this Vol/tone for each pick up, separate on switch for each, 4 sounds per PU, either coil, series or parallel and the tone pros wrap. And REAL Banjo pegs ….waverly 😅 It’s got these Fu Tone brass plates, to direct mounted pick ups. Which was the one mistake I made, the neck PU is way to close to the strings and can’t be adjusted, plus it’s a bridge PU, so I’m gonna change that out soon, it’s a TV Jones super Tron, I have another guitar I’ll put that in…..in the bridge position 🙄🤣
@@TheNeuroticGuitarist definitely! My cup of coffee would be the mid, player, gig-able type guitars that punch way above their price tag. Much like this video and the silver sky video I mentioned before. Of course that's just me. You're doing a great job, Cheers!

Cool video man, great guitar & you’re right about some more affordable guitars - some of them are great!! But ain’t it funny how “affordable” these days is 90% of a $1000🙃.
to me wood not really that big big difference in term of tone, sometimes can tell the different , but doesn't mean that rare fancy piece of wood must better sound that ordinary piece of wood ,more important is the feel in your hand, if you feel great ,make you play better and inspiring , but in acoustic guitar world, tone wood absolutely real thing, for high gain stuff , wood spice not my number one priority, but i think the body bigger, usually make better sound or louder sound , you can feel that big chunk of wood vibrate or ringing or something . great video ,anyway your unboxing technic some room for improvement . cheers
Great unbox vid. I am for sure diggin the all white version of Emily's epi. I have always poop pooped the epiphone line but for the cash I may go check it out, I'm a white axe kinda guy. Cheers Benny great video ✌️
I don't like epiphones that ARE already gibsons, I still have that "diet gibson" mentality, but this guitar has a life and identity of its own. The sheraton was a rad guitar and the fact it has a vintage correct headstock and inlay compounded with the real mollusk just makes me happy. I will say, I am upgrading the pickups!
@TheNeuroticGuitarist I would agree on all your points. The epi. Pro buckers pups are a huge draw back in the whole line if I get one that's would the first order of business would be to install a set 57/57+ or I would wind a custom set simular to the 57's
@WTFosterGuitars 100% I liked them and then played then against my 335 and was like...nope. I ended up ordering custom dimarzios...but 57/57+ is my go to. If I didn't have them in 20 guitars I'd probably have ordered those
I need a blacky for the Ying yang. I just got dimarzio d activator pickups in white with gold and it's gonna look so sick. The pups sound great but it doesn't hold a candle to the 57s in my 335 so I wanna level the playing field and do a battle. Stay tuned.
😊😊😊😊😊😊nice guitar georgous you don't need high priced Gibson first off Gibson is over rated I played them in the music stores I wasn't impressed at all the low budget guitars sounded better I should know I been singing and playing guitar over 50 years folks
Eddie, I agree that a lot of gibsons can be lackluster and I certainly get the overpriced thing, but let's be clear, some of the best guitars in the world say gibson on them. I don't think they're overrated but some definitely don't make the mark. That said, for 800 you won't find another guitar that touches the quality of this one. @TheNeuroticGuitarist Right? It's a custom build, and the wait list is two years! I want a case.
Cool video man, great guitar & you’re right about some more affordable guitars - some of them are great!! But ain’t it funny how “affordable” these days is 90% of a $1000🙃.
The times they are a changing! I'm with ya, got my 77 flying v for 200!
Biggest box Benny😊
Grote doos is also big py okay I'll hush😊

Six and a half minutes into the video, we finally see the guitar lol
Here's the great thing, if you're bored you can always go to whatever part of the video whenever you want 🤷♂️
I'm a sucker for white guitars so this one's in my head. Problem is so is the Satin Black version (DO NOT REPLY "GET BOTH!")
haha you SHOULD get both. if I had more room I would, too, but you gotta pick your battles! do it!
and please subscribe 🤪
Already a subscriber. Your collections is bananas! I ONLY have 12 and am looking to reduce that number to make room for a Wolfe.
Nice...

to me wood not really that big big difference in term of tone, sometimes can tell the different , but doesn't mean that rare fancy piece of wood must better sound that ordinary piece of wood ,more important is the feel in your hand, if you feel great ,make you play better and inspiring , but in acoustic guitar world, tone wood absolutely real thing, for high gain stuff , wood spice not my number one priority, but i think the body bigger, usually make better sound or louder sound , you can feel that big chunk of wood vibrate or ringing or something .
great video ,anyway your unboxing technic some room for improvement . cheers
Haha I know I can unbox from the bottom, I deliberately open it from the top to be ridiculous! I'm so glad you enjoyed it, thank you for watching
If I didn't have them in 20 guitars I'd probably have ordered those
Thanks brother, always like the elusive prize ✌️
Abalone ⚡🔱⚡
🤘😜🤘🦚
I love my blacky.
I need a blacky for the Ying yang. I just got dimarzio d activator pickups in white with gold and it's gonna look so sick. The pups sound great but it doesn't hold a candle to the 57s in my 335 so I wanna level the playing field and do a battle. Stay tuned.
Dose pronunciation in dutch means box written doos😅 dosis is dose😅
🤪
Congrats an axe you can bloody chop with maybe screw that Steve Hackett whammy to it earyah laterrrr🎶🎶🎶👀👍🎶🎶
🙌
😊😊😊😊😊😊nice guitar georgous you don't need high priced Gibson first off Gibson is over rated I played them in the music stores I wasn't impressed at all the low budget guitars sounded better I should know I been singing and playing guitar over 50 years folks
Eddie, I agree that a lot of gibsons can be lackluster and I certainly get the overpriced thing, but let's be clear, some of the best guitars in the world say gibson on them. I don't think they're overrated but some definitely don't make the mark. That said, for 800 you won't find another guitar that touches the quality of this one. Thanks for watching and please subscribe and join the madness 🙌
Too short.☹️😂
You know, I was thinking of you when I edited this to 16 mins lol! This might be my longest one in a while. Next week is 14.5!
Who the frick is Carl Roberts??? Epiphone in the 1960's, then Gibson continued in the 1970's, both built and sold Howard Roberts Model guitars. Never heard of a player or guitar with the name Carl Roberts....
I was super stoned. I absolutely meant howard roberts. I occasionally conflate things and clearly that's the case here. Good catch
Epiphones are mostly crap, but these days they are becoming overpriced crap.
They mostly be crap but this one isn't!
