Hi Dave, nice video as always but I would like to make a little observation. It would be nice if some RUclipsrs did reviews using pc systems that match what most people are using. Rating a game using tech that most of us can only dream of doesn’t show what it’s going to be like for the majority of people. My pc is four years old, i7 9400f, rtx 3070, 32gb ram that runs ams2 on nearly full graphics at 125fps, LMU at 109 with half things on ultra with full grid etc etc. Evo, one car practice, everything low getting between 50-60 and looks like ac1 would do without the brilliant pure and csp. I appreciate its early access, 100%, I know it will get better, 100%, but I would still expect something in a better state. After all the hype, they should have made sure they released the game in a state that the majority of people could enjoy from the start, including the Ai which are…. I’ll leave it there. Thanks Dave as always for the vids, I always enjoy your races. Rant over!
I don't believe Steering Assist Weight has anything to do with steering assist. I like it at 100%. It really enhances the feel of weight transfer. It should be called weight transfer intensity.
I bought it to see what VR was like. Nowhere near ready, but that's to be expected. I have a 4090 and a 13900ks chip, and a Crystal set on 80% resolution in the Pimax settings. But still needed the in-game settings medium to high. Nowhere near ultra.
2:10:10 haven't bought the early access, but even if it is actually better physics/handling wise, it won't be better than the rFactor 2 version purely because of the engine sound. No proper straight cut whine, no party.
My 2070 rtx super died 2 weeks before the 24 hrs of Daytona. I had to buy whatever i could afford. Got a 4070 super. Its usage was at 20% the whole race. But my CPU was jumping to 75% at night and 85% in the fog. Frames in the fog were down to 46! Been looking to upgrade my CPU. But i have an AM4 socket. I might as well just build a new damn PC.....
@PR1NCETD0T I'm so glad you responded. I've been looking at those, but didn't everything I read wasn't iRacing related. iRacing is it's own animal as far as games go, so hard on the CPU. It's nice to hear from a fellow iRacer that CPU works. Did you have to upgrade cooling?
@@casesully50 i went the AIO route, im using a deepcool castle 360, its running cool so far. For the 5800x3D, you would have to download the PBO tuner to undervolt and keep the cpu cool. If you’re lucky, you can over clock it at a lower voltage.

Is it worth buying it in early access? 100%!!! If you like simracing you'll get it anyway but will pay more when it's full game. Also (want it or not) playing early access we give developers idea where improvements are required and bugs where needs fixed. Probably minor suggestions from simracers would be taken in consideration and might be implemented during early access. Also don't forget about all excitement of waiting and another new content dropping and having an opportunity being first to play it when majority won't have it. Buy the game, practice, get good as new online races are coming, support KUNOS, follow road map and enjoy.
The game is £26…yet some don’t bat an eyelid at spending £2k plus on a racing rig…., I don’t get it, why some guys won’t buy it yet. The sound is great Dave, not just “ alright” Great vid👍
Just because you spend 2k on a rig does not mean you dont care about your money and if you dont think ACE is worth it then even 26 pounds is too much. Its very simple really. Someone could go buy a Porsche for 100k but when you ask them if they want a coffee for 15 bucks they sure as hell will say no. Dont look just at numbers, look at personal preferences and priorities.
@@th3oristbut you only have a choice of a handful of racing Sims that are popular or new….so why invest so much in a rig to play only one or two games. There are plenty of Coffee Houses that sell coffee for much less than £15. Your analogy doesn’t compute.
In my mind, the early-access is an excellent opportunity to show something really new, they had a chance to show us some aspects that badly lack in AC-1 i.e. decent flag system, rolling starts, safety cars, improved AI but no... they launch an Early-Acess which is basically AC-1 with worsened AI, identical race system and new graphics (which is terribly demanding, I can't play in a RTX3080 tripples and I can't say it's better than AC-1 + CSP + SOL). It seems they started the development 6 months ago instead of 4 years as they said in marketing.
early access is not marketing when done properly but a tool to test new builds on large population of users which would be impossible otherwise. this is not a showcase or a release, its development stage. if you dont want to participate see you in 1.0 by the end of the year. also to claim it takes 6 months to develop this version of ACE shows you have no idea what goes on in software development.
I'll keep saying it, they spent too much resources in the open world stuff and put the basic stuff aside. But they probably felt forced to release the early access as it was, giving us the current build
If you get 1/4 of a finished, working game, you should pay 1/4 the price, especially when you're doing quality assurance for the devs, completely free of charge.
Dave I have to mention your wheel settings have really improved the game for me using a CSL DD 8nm. Thank you.
