I haven’t seen any comparisons between Planet X grim lock and the microblaze bruticus. I actually just bought this set and it’s coming in tomorrow. I kinda hope they don’t make one so the price tag mine was justified 😂😅
I don't know I like the dinobots they made but I'm not too fond of everything else I really enjoy how big the dinobots are in scale to the official Fall of Cybertron figures but it would actually be really awesome if planet X made something like this just a voyager scale Onslaught figure with an upgrade set that's compatible with the official stuff especially considering that this set is actually ungodly hard to find I just found a set on eBay yesterday and the guy wants almost $500 for it.
We might get an official one soon!

This... this is the first 3rd party figure/set I want. I have both the retail Bruticus and the Platinum/SDCC, BUT... I feel like this set caters to the retail, and in my opinion, you don't truly know the FOC Bruticus figure until you get it in the platinum, game accurate colors. I'd only buy this if they make another version with Onslaught in his Platinum/SDCC colors, otherwise, I don't want to shell 100+ on a figure that caters to my least favorite of the two Bruticuses.
Also, with the "helicopter" arielbot SO OBVIOUSLY going to be repainted into Vortex for a Bruticus Combiner Wars figure, I think Hasbro will do a great job at their second Bruticus attempt.
Yeah, I do see your point there. But I'd rather have a TOTALLY awesome and detailed Bruticus with a sorta-inaccurate Onslaught, than a totally awesome and detailed Bruticus with an Onslaught, while accurate, that doesn't fit with the rest.
Jcc2224 Only own the platinum version set and this is my first big 3rd party kit. Very worth it in these colors. But I hated the brown of the SDCC/Platinum set and always favored Onslaught being blue myself.

Quick tip, in leg and vehicle mode for swindle, have his head portion facing the inside of the new chest. It opens up a lot more room under the piece, and makes it look less ugly when you see it from under

I am surprised and pleased about the work and thought they put into those elbow-guns. They seriously make the figure so much better.
I still believe. FOC GEN DLX Starscream remains a big fave of mine, even with the hollowness and having to repair both of his knees when they broke.

Oh boy, this is the most complicated transforming toy I've ever handled, but man does he dominate any self or display that he's in.
Also, if you don't want to knock out the stock combiner hand on Vortex, you can yank the thumb off the stock hand, its just pegged in there and is not too hard to remove.
Now I just wish there was a good Defensor that's in scale with this guy.

i really cant recommend this set enough, its everything i wanted out of a replacement onslaught, yeah i admit some of his design decisions could have been significantly better, but really, idc, he looks BADASS, i loved this design from high moon the moment i saw it in full effect, but now im curious, will they do a g2 version? and possibly a ruination? fingers crossed
Hey Vangelus, in combined mode for Swindle flip down both of his robot mode feet for more stability.
Hope there will be a G2 repaint
On the fence of buying this. Perhaps I'll wait to see if Planet X ever tries their hand at them.
I think that if the SDCC Vortex were blue and gray like the G1 version, the combined mode would look a lot better. Certainly not game accurate, but I think it would help unify the more G1-style color scheme.

It really goes to show that This is just one damn good example that 3rd party figures can kick more tail pipe than hasbro can design a proportionate foc figure.
Hasbro had to make a mass retail *deluxe* class figure for onslaught on a limited budget during the an oil shortage and this figure and company had to worth about none of these things. Not a a fair comparison

Pledge with Future (that second part is important...I think) is the one I see referenced post often as it's basically acrylic clear coat.

I wish mine were as solid as yours. Everything is falling apart, especially the crotch, shoulder guns, and Swindle foot bits. Looks so cool, but so fally aparty :(

Hey Vangelus, I just got this big guy in today, I've got some serious issues with the Swindle foot. (The Side parts of the "Pistols" keep coming off when I try to stand his foot flat) Is there any suggestions on how to fix this, or how you keep yours so sturdy?
I thickened the pegs with a coat of floor polish. Mine had that same problem out of the box - there should've been more than one fastening point on those for all the load they're bearing.
Did anyone try this with the sdcc version? Does it look good with this?

Yeah, I wouldn't mind seeing a group of Ammonite figures that can all combine with each other in like a million different ways.

The Pickle System Well, it's partly a joke, and a reference to a quote from the TF Wiki page about Noisemaze's Mass Production version. The joke stems from my assumption that Army builders are recolored or somehow recreated versions of pre-existing characters that can be bought repeatedly. I suppose technically, that would make Optimus, Magnus, and Nemesis army builders... huh... anyway, it was just a joke that you could buy a bunch of these things to make a Bruticus army and still not have it be as expensive as the Noisemaze figure, which runs about $300 dollars as compared to the $180 dollars you'd pay for the four limbs and the revamped Onslaught figure.

+Autobot Ironhide I got mine on pre-order but yeah I had a look a while ago and nobody seems to be selling them anymore. I found one on a not so good looking website but whether you'd trust it or not is your choice really. I'd agree with Coboxite that Ebay is your best bet however if you're an FoC fan you need this set! Boosticus looks simply awful in my opinion, his hands are static, his feet are playschooly simple and his torso looks like he accidentally put on all his dad's clothes. With a bit of custom work and even by itself this figure looks just like the game and is well worth the purchase.

I honestly thought Bruticus looked like shit until i saw this video.

It failed my shake test. The hips fall apart from the weight of the legs and Swindles new feet bits like to pop off a lot... as well as the crotch piece... great design overall and he looks much better but the frustration it comes with is high, at least for me.
***** Yeah. I think I just got unlucky with one with bad joints. I saw another guy who had the same issues but he was smart and ask BBTS about it and they sent another one. :/

Vangelus; maybe you can help me. Does any company out there make a good Megatron, (War for Cybertron/Fall of Cybertron)? As I can't seem to find the official version anywhere.
Right now most companies are focused on G1 Classics or Masterpiece aesthetics, the High Moon games aren't covered by many projects outside of this one & Boosticus. ShapeShift Inc may do one in their pocketscale FoC line, but they haven't shown anything for a Megatron.

Colonel Pepper It got bumped off my plate several times in the last 6 weeks, hopefully I can get to it sooner than later! Vaudiosonics have a brutal encoding grind so I usually do em when there's nothing pressing.

Has there been any word on a G2 color version of this fellow? The weird, stuck-to-his-sides shoulders and overall jankiness of the Deluxe FoC Onslaught just turned me off, and this toy seemed like exactly what I needed to fill that void, but I got the BBTS exclusive G2 color Combaticons set, and never even saw the retail versions in stores, let alone obtained them. If Microblaze plans on limiting this guy to blue and green, then I really can't see myself getting one.

You're pretty much stuck with ebay, but unless you REALLY want a bigger combined mode, its totally not worth the mark-up. Get either the X-Transbots Boosticus(Which bulks out the combined mode, and is still easily the best thing X-Transbots has ever made), get Fansproject Colossus (its still a fantastic combiner,) or just skip entirely and get the CW/UW version.

This set disappointed me. I may have lost some of my instructions because i didn't see anything about disassembling the blast off and vortex. Difficult to balance and does NOT stand my baby shake test. Great review though!
