It's pretty insane how good KOs have gotten. They are largely BETTER than the originals. MPP10 is my current favorite KO figure in my collection, and it's leaps and bounds better than MP10! I personally love the larger sizes on these types of KOs. Great review! A direct comparison is a great way to gauge how good these sets are.
Sorry for the late response but I have been moving and getting settled in. I agree that the KOs of today are FAR superior than those of say 5-10 years ago. As long as a company keeps OS and KOing figures, I personally will be a buyer lol.Thank you for watching and your kind words :)

The Devy *6*-bot Combiner should be bigger than all the *5*-bot Combiners (like Bruticus). However, scale goes out the window when you have a space shuttle and chopper for arms while a Jeep and tank are the legs (Bruticus), a chopper for an arm and a motorcycle for a leg (Defensor), and a Combiner made up entirely of jet planes (Superion).

Size shifting was necessary in the beginning because several characters came over from MicroChange to Transformers who changed into everyday handheld object alt modes. But having TFs size shift willy-nilly is a lot like Bayformers being able to acquire alt modes at will, instead of having to be reformatted by a supercomputer like Auntie/Teletraan-1 or Unicron. It's lazy. Rushed animators can be forgiven for making mistakes of scale. But a line of toys purporting to be masterpieces should do a better job of painstakingly maintaining scale--especially at the premium prices that so many of these things cost.
I'd like to warn people about something - there's second KO Warbotron which you can buy here and there (mostly on that website which name begins with "A"). It is advertised as JinBao's, but I'm sure it's not made by them. Do yourself a favor and (apologize for caps) DON'T BUY IT. It is utter trash, simplified beyond reason (like, "Onslaught" has no knees, "BlastOff" is missing wrist swivels, "Swindle's" heels do not fold into his feet in vehicle mode). How to recognize that horrible KO? Simple, look at the pictures, this trashy KO has: - parts made of die cast, - "Swindle's" guns are black, - "Brawl" has two pistols instead of one. That's more than enough to distinguish JinBao's version from trashy one. "You'll thank me later" :).
Wait doesn't Brawl has two guns? Like two small guns attached to his tank mode. I just bought one very cheap but all the pictures were of good quality showing the same Jinbao box too. It doesnt mention diecast though
I rarely watch 50 minute reviews but I enjoyed watching this. I'm expecting mine to arrive next week, together with black mamba KO optimus dark knight and rotf megatron.
So, I know it's a couple years late, but I just found this and had a couple things to say. The yellow blade connectors for Vortex store in the grey horseshoe piece of his gun, the outer most panels pop off. Blast Off's chest was changed to add a ratchet to his combiner joint. Lastly, the secondary fins on the chest plate stick outward, perpendicular to his body. Great review, those are just minor things I saw that may not even he relevant anymore. Oh well. Definitely subscribed though

Great review, Thumbs up! these days 3rd party does amazing jobs to enhance the licensed ver of toys and now KO just made a even better ver of the 3rd party. Personally i like to support who puts a lot of effort to their design and KO just copy it. To be fair, the price tag and quality really makes me slowly switching over to KO. However without original there will be no KO.. is a mix feeling LOL.
FYI, he scales perfectly with Combiner Wars Devastator. They stand eye to eye. He's a bit bigger than the KO OS Feral Rex, partly because Feral Rex has to stand with his legs splayed apart due to the size of the legs themselves.

Just ordered my Oversized Jinbao warbatron yesterday to go with my Jinbao Ferral Rex prediking, and my Jinbao Oversized Devistator. Would be nice to get a Jinbao oversized MENASOR
You forgot to mention that the jinbao version's blast off's gun barrels don't extend like the original warbotron blast off's does, theyre fixed into place
I'm happy I passed on the Original. the price point was just too steep. now I can purchase a Bruticus that's bigger, made a bit sturdier for an incredibly low price. $500+ vs $175....what's the argument. I'm ordering him.

Great review! I have a 2nd edition on order. I remember with my original Warbotron Airburst, the 1st edition torso didn't have ratchets in the legs, which caused the arm to sink in combined mode.

I have the Warbotron Jinbao KO OS version. The only disappointing flaw is still the ankles of several figures. Vortex in particular. They are very weak. In opposite of that the blades are so tight in the rotor piece i don''t manage/dare to get those loose again. But overall, it is my favourite combiner. What i really like about it too: The trailer of Onslaught can be used as a stand for the two big guns. A bit like Rodimus Prime G1.
Jinbao is awesome because they give us a better combiner scale. Once you have a giant gestalt on display, you wont even bother separating him. Their Nero Rex is the showstopper in my collection even though I have smaller pieces that are wayyy more expensive. Bravo to them. Keep up the awesome!
Yes they do. I know a lot of collectors will call it stealing since they are basically just taking something someone else made and making it larger. I understand the non ethical aspect of it all but then again, we get a gestalt to go with our MPs soooooooo keep them coming Jonbao! Thank you for watching :D

The deal with Blastoff was that his combiner peg was super weak and floppy if I recall, so when he was an arm there was no real strength to keep it in position.
Now that you mention it, I remember that! Thanks for jogging my memory. I can say with certainty that the one I reviewed in this vid had no such problem and he could hold his gun easily with that combiner peg.
I just started collecting MP figures since they are finally starting to get the scale right. Both these combiners look good and originally I was looking to pick up that Jinbao Warbotron since he was imo in scale with that MP Starscream but after seeing the Unique toys Ragnaros and the Zeta toys Armegadon am definitely looking to pick one of those combiners instead. I like that Warbotron, but I prefer that G1 accuracy to with that Starscream. Great video.
The little yellow piece for Swindle can be used to mount his large cannon on his right shoulder, to give him a more accurate anime look. Does the ratchet joint of Blast Off, in Bruticus right arm mode, is sufficiently strong to hold the weight of his big rifle in different positions? The machine boy variant is exceedingly loose.

Great review. I was always amazed by the design of the original warbotron. However, when I got it, the quality issues drove me nuts. The feet were especially bad. -_- I may have to get this. Side note. I am actually one to only want ratchets when they are needed to support the figure. You lose the fine tuning that can make posing easier. Still only a minor complaint there.

I don't really care for ratchets in the hip area since some toy makers cannot make them right. In some figures, you either have to have the figure standing straight up or you get it in an "A" stance. a very good guide to know how really good the KO's vs the official is , Habro never was super quality from the early 90's as there was nothing else to find in my country ( I used to have the G1 Defensor) as after 7-8 years all became loose , thank you ! So Jimbao I guess is the one to go after all
i watched the RID transformers from 2001. and "onslaught" or whatever they called him was bigger than prime. so i really like the size of the oversized one here
i was looking him up. he was called mega-octane in RID. you can see in one of the pics he's about 1 head taller than prime in the cartoon. tfwiki.net/wiki/Mega-Octane

Just got mine from Sir Toys. 99 bucks and he's every bit as solid as this video shows. It's kinda crazy how much more you get for how much less you spend.

The Oversize KO is a good option if you have CW Devastator and over all if you enjoyed the original WB(I know I did) you will love the KO but I would like to wait for the ToyWorld Version to come out. I am going full ToyWorld on the combiners unless FansToys comes up with something better.
That is very true. This KO is perfect for those on a budget or maybe just don't want to spend the high prices. I am with you on the FansToys part lol. I will collect anything they release :D
I gotta get this. Been scrounging on the voyager class like 30 bucks. Forget that , I need to get bruticus this exact one ASAP. I heard this jumbo size one feels more durable than the smaller 15-18 inch one ? If that’s the case, this bigger one is the one to buy.
I'm with you on that! Especially Pandinus!! I mean I have Pandinus and to have an OS version of him the size of FT. Max would be insane! I mean as it is, he is a bulky figure and making him 2 ft. tall would be so AWESOME!!!

This is a pretty cool set. It's also the cheapest option for a MP scaled set of Combaticons period; the more G1 show accurate options are substantially pricier, starting with Unique Toys Ragnaros for $300 at The Chosen Prime. On the downside, it's also probably the hardest to find at this point unless Jinbao does a reissue like with Predaking... Jinbao definitely did progressively better. "Into the Sky" (Feral Rex/Predaking) was okay despite the simplifications leading to several dumb design decisions. This was a step up, with apparently fewer simplifications. "Builder.D" (Gravity Builder/Devastator) is absosmurfinlutely fantabulously awesome. NO simplifications here. Too bad they shifted to the Legends game; I would've loved to see their take on the Warbotron Computron, the Transform Mission Menasor, and good ol' Unique Toys Ordin. And maybe TFC's King Poseidon/Piranacon, if they improved it as well as oversized it.

If I remember right there are panels that open in his nose piece to hide them when you're not using them. They go with the helicopter. They're to let you hook the blades together.
You are right, CW Devy would be a better match for him height wise. He is pretty affordable at around $140-$150. That is a great price considering I spent over between $500 to $600 for my original Warbotron figure. Thank you for watching.

I never really liked that mentality. There's 1 extra bot, sure, but two bots serve the same purpose as 1 in the 5 bot teams.

Shoulder cannon mounts. They can be left on for transformation I believe. If not they can both still be stored in vehicle mode.

Menasor, Bruticus, and then Devastator are my top three favorites. Still have my G1 arms and legs and G2 Onslaught in my display cabinet.

Thank you for letting me know about the little yellow piece.As far as the combiner peg for Blast Off, it holds very well. He can hold his gun up in combiner mode with absolutely no problem at all :D

Great review. I was always amazed by the design of the original warbotron. However, when I got it, the quality issues drove me nuts. The feet were especially bad. -_- I may have to get this.
Side note. I am actually one to only want ratchets when they are needed to support the figure. You lose the fine tuning that can make posing easier. Still only a minor complaint there.
Thank you for your kind words. I agree about the qc issues with the original Warbotron. As far as your comment on the ratchet joints, I can see that. I don't really care for ratchets in the hip area since some toy makers cannot make them right. In some figures, you either have to have the figure standing straight up or you get it in an "A" stance. a very good guide to know how really good the KO's vs the official is , Habro never was super quality from the early 90's as there was nothing else to find in my country ( I used to have the G1 Defensor) as after 7-8 years all became loose , thank you ! So Jimbao I guess is the one to go after all

The Oversize KO is a good option if you have CW Devastator and over all if you enjoyed the original WB(I know I did) you will love the KO but I would like to wait for the ToyWorld Version to come out. I am going full ToyWorld on the combiners unless FansToys comes up with something better.
That is very true. This KO is perfect for those on a budget or maybe just don't want to spend the high prices. I am with you on the FansToys part lol. I will collect anything they release :D

I'm with you on that! Especially Pandinus!! I mean I have Pandinus and to have an OS version of him the size of FT. Max would be insane! I mean as it is, he is a bulky figure and making him 2 ft. tall would be so AWESOME!!!

This is a pretty cool set. It's also the cheapest option for a MP scaled set of Combaticons period; the more G1 show accurate options are substantially pricier, starting with Unique Toys Ragnaros for $300 at The Chosen Prime. On the downside, it's also probably the hardest to find at this point unless Jinbao does a reissue like with Predaking...
Jinbao definitely did progressively better. "Into the Sky" (Feral Rex/Predaking) was okay despite the simplifications leading to several dumb design decisions. This was a step up, with apparently fewer simplifications. "Builder.D" (Gravity Builder/Devastator) is absosmurfinlutely fantabulously awesome. NO simplifications here. Too bad they shifted to the Legends game; I would've loved to see their take on the Warbotron Computron, the Transform Mission Menasor, and good ol' Unique Toys Ordin. And maybe TFC's King Poseidon/Piranacon, if they improved it as well as oversized it.

I have both figures and I love the OS. To make him the size of the Toyworld Devastator, we would need an upgrade set of crotch/thigh piece and higher feet, maybe some day.

If I remember right there are panels that open in his nose piece to hide them when you're not using them. They go with the helicopter. They're to let you hook the blades together.

You are right, CW Devy would be a better match for him height wise. He is pretty affordable at around $140-$150. That is a great price considering I spent over between $500 to $600 for my original Warbotron figure. Thank you for watching.
Good video work! I think Jinbao Feral Rex is not good toy, because Tantrum's head was too big. I'm wondering about buying Jinbao Warbotron. If there is any extra big difference between original Warbotron and Jinbao's?
Thank you very much. Yes, I wasn't a huge fan of Jinbao Rex but this Jinbao Bruticus is awesome!!! Aside from what I mentioned in the video, there isn't much more of a difference. I think the Jinbao version is better than the original.
Now make KO over-sized Warbotron Computron and all shall be complete... for my collection that is...
