Reviews:
""No Letting Go" is obviously a labor of love. While the film is marvelously made, it just doesn't seem like the most commercial of productions. Instead, it's a film with a strong message and addresses a problem seldom talked about in movies...childhood mental illness.
When the film begins, Timothy is a 10 year-old who is starting to show some serious signs of anxiety--something you just wouldn't expect in a kid his age. His parents take him to therapy but it doesn't really seem to help. Then, the film jumps ahead to age 14. Now Timothy is not only anxious but seriously depressed...and with childhood depression comes a lot of other things, such as anger and unpredictability. The film not only focuses on Timothy but also on his family and how Timothy's precarious mental state effects them all in different ways. His parents' marriage is tense and difficult and his brothers obviously are affected as well. So is there any hope? Of course, as this a film about so much more than just a miserable family.
There is so much I love about this movie. The acting is very nice and most of the folks are faces you won't recognize...which is a plus because this makes them seem like a very real family. The direction by Jonathan Bucari is just amazing and the writing by Bucari and Randy Silverman shows that they know a lot about mental illness and its treatment. Considering I am a trained psychotherapist and have had to deal with mental illness in my own family, I can clearly see that they sure did their research. As a result, they offer a film with many great things to offer...hope for families...awareness of how widespread these problems are...the way it affects friends and neighbors...as well as the ways depression come out in children and teens. All in all, a great message film which not only does a great and beneficial service but is also highly engaging. It also has been taking many awards in the film festival circuit...and justified as the film has so much to offer and is so original. Fortunately, this film will be making its debut in March--so you can see it without the need of going to a film festival!"

My 38 yr old was diagnosed with schizophrenia at the age of 15. The first 7 years were rough. He was also diagnosed with PTSD and autism years later. Praise be to God and a miracle anti-psycotic medication that has kept him stable the last 15 years ❤
I’m so happy for you… my Danny was diagnosed with a lot of illnesses but he just couldn’t go on anymore and took his life in April of 23… God will bless you just keep going to him and all will be well
What does schizophrenia mean symptoms?
So very happy for you😮 Very difficult for a parent that goes through This 😢❤❤❤
@@sallysilva8608 Awesome 👍
Shows a true picture of how mental illness affects the whole family. So sad. My daughter-in-law always was different and when she suffered a miscarriage after ten years of marriage she went into full blown schizophrenia. She told my son she wanted a divorce. He was devastated. Mental illness makes you feel so helpless. It’s hard to get the person into treatment and to make them continue treatment. So heartbreaking.
Praying 🙏 for all parents and caregivers of kids that are going through mental illness
God pls give strength to all parents who have to handle such kids at home ..
Thank Your for your prayer 🙏
Thank you! ❤
This is so real. We dont see their actions as symptoms of an illness, just as unacceptable behavior.
People actually do see their Actions as Symptoms of an Illness. The only way they know how to cope with it is to deal with it like what the Symptoms are ... *unacceptable behavior.*
I'm the Mother of a similar Boy. He waas born in January 76 both at these time nearly no help for him. After he nearly got lost in drugs he turned violent and terrrable until today. I pray for him to get one day he's peace and don't have to suffer anymore like these. He has a perfect heart so tneder with animals. But struggeling with Humans.
Parents who have children mentally suffer very much. I cried most of this movie.
Episides like these make my again realize how fortunate i was with my three children....no hassles, just normal kids doing kids things. They are 52m 46 and 41 now,❤
Discussing Mental condition is very hard subject. It can be very confused and sad for all family members. My son had his first hospital patient treatment when he was a freshman in San Diego University. It has taken ten year for my son to manager his mental condition, with right meditation he completed his undergraduate in seven years in 2019. Currently he has a part time job and working on a new career path. As his mother, I have joined DBSA Family and Friends Supporting Group for last six years. I'm so grateful to join DBSA San Diego, my son and I have learned so much about mental health.
This movie had me engrossed from start to finish. An incredible and powerful drama with a great cast ensemble, focusing on the battle of mental illness, and the stigma attached to it. Well Done Bigtime! ❤️
💯💯
In the ten years since this was made treatment has been greatly improved. Excellent movie in every way. I like James with authentic Maine or Boston accent. He seemed like the real counselor.
Great movie I went through this with my daughter as a single mom she was diagnosed bipolar can definitely relate getting right meds was the hardest part
Good movie. The explanation of his treatment program in Maine was so scarce . The first therapist when he was a boy was good and then she was gone . I think a part 2 movie is very much needed with more detail. Parents need this
Great movie 🙏
This family has to go through so much, it’s sad, very sad …. I cried at the end, but not for the sadness… I cried for the beauty of this family sticking together, through it all. It helps to see this kind of love exists… the kind of love where people support one another, no matter what 💞🫶🏻💞
Unfortunately many of us lack that kind of love 💔
You're absolutely right... such wise words. God Bless You, Romy❣️
✨️🙏😇✝️
Truly a great movie. Love that the mom & dad found the right therapist for Tim. Sadly in our TCF Suicide support group that wasn’t the case with some of the young men who just couldn’t cope in an institution. This movie has given me hope again ❤
My heart goes out to their other two boys too.
Great movie and a real wake up to what everyone suffers when someone has Biopolar. So glad he got the help that was required so he could live a happy life going forward.
This was a brilliant and thought provoking movie .😮 My hats off to fantastic actors😊They were awesome 👍
I went through this with my daughter last year 😢! Watching this movie now makes 😢
A very nice movie, it just show when there's love in a family healing does come and everything turns for good.
It takes love and understanding to be able to deal with this mammoth challenge
I love this movie. And Tim! He's already an excellent actor!
I firmly believe so many children are healed by prayers, cling to Jesus our healer n by his stripes n wounds we are healed. isaiah 53:5.
Family support is very important...❤❤❤
It’s sad when a child has a mental lioness and nobody understands
I agree and they are top afraid to speak up for fear of being ridiculed and ostracized. Teens don't realise its a normal part of life for many teens and their families ❤
At this point,I feel like my words are missing.
Thank you, really thank you for made me seeing it.
This movie really shows how hard mental illness is on the whole family. So great to see that there are places that can help them.😂
*It's heartbreaking that being the USA a world leader, lack so much in Medical attention* 😠😠This family got through because of their profound love and the money of their grandparents, they couldn't of done it without it.
Im exhausted.....hard to watch hard to realize that there are so many to fight with this disorder
And more sad is when the parents or family are afraid to admit that one of them need mental health treatment.
i was like that as a child all my life was a nightmare until i got on a 12 step programe ive had a life beyond my wildest dreams for 26 years doctors dont have a clue
Mental illness makes no sense, you just have to live through it...🙏
I’ve never seen this hit a kid so young it’s usually after high school through college years - it runs in my family 😢
45:21 starts Beethoven's 5th Piano concerto or Emperor. Solute to the Mom and Dad.
Thank you for sharing this movie ❤😢
God bless and praying for everyone who is struggling with some type of health issues, sickness , diseases. Praying the parents not to give up so easy or too fast on your loved ones. God is our Hope, Strenghth, Healer And All! In Jesus Name I pray .Amen! Praying for my co- workers son who is back in the hospital. God Almighty Thank You for hearing our prayers and answering according to your riches and glory in Christ Jesus! Amen! I love you Jesus Forevermore!
Beautiful movie
So touching. I needed to understand this.Breast Cancer I know cos I am a survivor also.
Wonderful movie! - the only thing that is missing... How? is Tim, after all.... U all stay healthy
Loved this movie I learned alot about myself growing up😊
What an inspiring film. Its really not letting go…
Nice movie I guess I can relate to this, bad news one after the ather can't feel like nothing good will ever come to me. Watching from South Africa
Good movie
Only those can understand who seen someone their very own suffering from this complex n temperamental disease 😢😢😢
A winner. ❤
A great movie.
Wow! What are amazing woman the mom is.
Enabling a child is the worst medicine
😢 excellent movie
Mommy doesnt alwas knows best........
All I can think is maybe this kid was abused and he doesn’t no who to talk to and the shame one feels with it. And all that pain and anger gets trapped in us and comes out how he expresses in the movie.
Manage your stuff or people will drive you crazy
So her pride is more important than her child’s behavior wow
I think she’s the most loving mother .. patient, kind… she deserves some assistance in this..and peace in her family … maybe you don’t understand how difficult this can be, year after year!!
Apparently you have no kids
Apparently you have no kids
She works hard but she is putting herself before her kids, mentally.
Did i miss something? Was Tim big on moment and then young again next?
Te parents shouldve prepared the other children better........explained to them better about Tim,s illness before sending him away.....
Bi-polar is the pits
Those spoiled brats need strong parental discipline.
You have NO IDEA !!!!
Unfortunately bipolar is not always detected and it causes tis strange behavior. It's really sad😢
In real life things don't go as well.lm saying my daughter has Bipolar it's hard because she's mean and she has bi-piolar always thinking she will get better
That's why it's a movie. It's VERY unrealistic to think things could go that well in real life. In real life, a lot of bad things happen...
She coddles him.
A mother's natural instinct is to PROTECT!
SHE DID THAT.
Treats him like a baby
Is it the dad from 7th he's heaven?
I feel sorry for the other children. The focus was always on Tim.
Dumb ending
😊
Great content, but falls short on acting ability.
Very sad.
👍👍👍
POOR ACTING
I hated this movie
So what’s his problem? I don’t understand, I saw it already almost 1 hour….
He is bipolar i think......
🥲❤❤❤👍
What are these kids eating ..?
Bravo... and what about 💉
To be honest why do they insist on all those activities?
