    Muay thai is more technical and powerful from kicboxing but kicboxing have big combos and more agresive style from muay thai

    • @SiamBoxing
      @SiamBoxing  4 года назад

      Kickboxing favours a faster pace with 3 rounds and boxing does well as well as good combos finishing with low kicks, hooks etc. Muay Thai is very technical like chess but also very hard when they throw its all bad intentions too as well as hard clinch and elbows. Both are great but very different.

      thanks and good luck with your training, the noises don't necessarily signify anything sometimes certain terms like ooooeeee might signify that was a good shot. fighters make noises as it helps control with breathing and to get more power.

    Im a boxer myself, but I wonder - why are muay thai fighters and kickboxers more flat footed compared to us?
    I assume it is something to do with sweeps? Or just being a stance that always allows you to defend against a kick?
    Having said that, karate fighters bounce up and down a lot too I notice.

    • @SiamBoxing
      @SiamBoxing  4 года назад +8

      To be honest if you look at most Thai's they arent flat footed. Its a lot to do with balance but also with kickboxing and muay thai you will often see people stand and bang rather than move about a lot so you can get away with a flat foot to increase power/balance if you go to Thailand there all on the toes and a lot of pivoting when they throw kicks. More so than european

    • @wooptiedoo3538
      @wooptiedoo3538 4 года назад

      I started with boxing and also do kickboxing for 6 years now. There is not much difference, except the stance of boxers are more closed. The feet are more behind each other and boxers have a much better technique and hit harder and faster with their punches.
      I sometimes have trouble with roundhouse kicks because of this stance.
      Also you can block leg kicks better with the little difference in stance.
      When I spar kickboxers obviously it's harder for them with punch combinations. In my opinion the biggest weakness for boxers are getting leg kicks. Definitely you should learn and train to block those in order to become a better fighter.

    • @Old299dfk
      @Old299dfk 4 года назад +3

      @@wooptiedoo3538 I've been boxing for 11 years - I decided to start doing muay thai 3 weeks ago.
      My mate kicked me in the leg.
      I fell down instantly. I had no idea how fucking bad leg kicks were!
      I used to joke around all the time saying all you have to do to defeat a boxer is kick them. Now I know I was actually right - leg kicks are fucking brutal!

    Can you just not put punches together in Muay Thai? Do you have to throw single strikes only?

    • @SiamBoxing
      @SiamBoxing  4 года назад +1

      most often you have to think of other strikes and for the most part kicks score higher and every shot is thrown with bad intentions.

    • @TheMendo123
      @TheMendo123 4 года назад

      @@SiamBoxing Ok would you say that stringing together punches in Muay Thai does not work because of the scoring system, or are they just less effective in general because your opponent can counter with other weapons?

    • @billygoatgruff2900
      @billygoatgruff2900 4 года назад

      Think of it as a chess game. You throw a leg kick you'll get one in return, you hammer out a 1/2 chances are you'll get them back just as you gave! Thai is a slow burner and they hardly come out gate 100mph it's a grind. A good Thai fighter will show zero emotion during a fight even when hurt. It's a hard game you gents play. I've wet my feet but it's a true battle of wills.
