Nice review Lou. I have it as well. Its been great. I mixed bands with it as well as my DJ rig. I have a netgear router stuck to mine in the road case as well. Such a breeze to not have to worry about rack gear and tablet mixing from anywhere in the room is great!
Thanks. Also note there is the Ui24 that has some improvements over the Ui16 including direct HDMI control, multi-track recording, and others to consider.
There is no doubt that the low power of the router, plus the issues with some of the units freezing up (like mine) were an issue. But wow has this unit just shined since their refocus on the firmware. Completely rock solid now.

It's all browser based. And yes this device can be accessed through any typical network protocols. But that was going to be too dense for a video like this.

Unfortunately, there isn't a ton you can do without adding an external router. There are high gain antennas you can get (+8 +9dbi) but they are only marginally better. Really the best solution here is the external router. So much more range and a piece of mind.
Like the more costly Soundcraft 12 MTK board, can this unit work with a DAW? I use Reason 10, and I'd like to use the Ui16 for live gigs, playing my backing tracks, controlling mic EQ, verb, plug-ins, with Reason 10 DAW.
It's a stand-alone signal you connect to. I do suggest that you buy an external router to help improve the range that you can operate from, but you are always ultimately connecting to the box. It's literally a web server inside.
Paris Creative awesome really appreciate it!! Seems like a really amazing unit the price is hard to believe, being able to be an amazing wireless mixer and it has amp modeling and effects for guitars and instruments is pretty incredible

Great review, im looking in to in ear systems for my band (4 members) , how do the outputs exactly work? Is it so that the aux outputs are mono and the stereo headphone outputs are stereo, how are the mixes then created ( I didnt see a Pan button?) Thanks in advance for your answers :)
So each aux channel is individually controlled for each input channel, and you can bring into the view the master aux volume for each aux channel. There are pans on each aux, master, and individual channels. So everything is stereo. You can also link the master channel to aux channels so things like solo and mute are interconnected (if you want). You can play with a demo user interface here: www.soundcraft.com/ui-demo/mixer.html If you ever see yourself in need of more channels they also have a Ui24.
On the right panel click and hold "View Groups". you can then turn on/off the channels you want to see. Note that with the latest firmware, the order you click them on will be how they display.
