I don’t have a video specifically on NVivo 15 for Mac because the AI Assistant function doesn’t work as expected-it can generate codes with AI assistance, but the excerpts aren’t connected to the codes. I suppose I am confused between ai functions and autocoding. Are they the same? (I'm attempting to autocode after having manually coded 10% of my interviews in Nvivo 14 on a mac and having trouble.) Should I be upgrading to 15 now?
The AI Assistant function differs from the Autocode function in NVivo. While Autocode uses an algorithm to identify recurring themes, concepts, or words in the data, the AI Assistant goes a step further by generating meanings from the excerpts you select and developing corresponding codes or themes. However, in the NVivo 15 Mac version, the AI Assistant’s functionality is limited-it generates codes and themes but does not link them to the excerpts. For the full functionality of the AI Assistant, I recommend using the Windows version of NVivo 15.
