Pretty awesome that you’ve found so many great albums in 2023 that it took 2 vids to share em all with us! I love it! Watching folks Best Finds of the Year videos is a blast! And a great way to discover stuff I’ve not seen before so a win-win for everyone! WOW that Gringo Star album sounds so groovy! Great story about you and that other band sticking it to the “evil venue” ! Yes!! Love that kind of band camaraderie! I know this is going to sound like sacrilege but I actually don’t own a single Velvet Underground LP! I know right? What kind of fan of psychedelia and alt rock doesn’t have any VU in their collection? I’ll def be correcting that in 2024! My co-creator on Cosmic Vinyl, The Perch is constantly on me to pick up some Sturgill Simpson! That’ll likely be on want list for 2024 as well! I was lucky enough to pick up a UK first press of The Stooges Raw Power 2 yrs ago! Man I was so stoked! I am a huge fan of the Cars and you’re right that album plays like a greatest hits LP! So many cool tracks! I also dig classic Soul/R& B & have made it my mission to beef up that part of my collection in the upcoming year! Man you made some killer scores of some great music at that yard sale! You had an outstanding year and found some really good records! Hope ya do even better in 2024! Peace ✨✌️👽✨
Yeah dude, it’s been a crazy year. Mostly just two yard sales (one of the lady’s dads was a lifelong collector who passed on), extensive research on my part, and my local record store changed drastically this year under new ownership and I know they procure records from their massive warehouse and bring them in because they know I’ll buy them. I can be in that place for hours and I’ll be the only person there. I was also part of an online group that sold records within the group once a week, but then stopped. Got some killer scores there and pulled the trigger on a few from Discogs knowing the prices were right and I’d probably never see them in the wild. Whew! When am I going to listen to all these? I mostly just spend a lot of time with a handful, or once a record goes to the back of the pile I forget about it for a few months then dig it out again.

Have to add a bit about Zamrock. I got turned on to ZR about 2-3 years ago probably by 2 things Forst by picking up Witch’s album Lazy Bones and it blew my doors off and then secondly by fellow VC member Steve Carlson constantly sharing his ZR stuff So I picked up this ZR comp Zamrock! How Zambia’s Liberation Led to a Rock Revolution double LP! If you haven’t checked that out It’s amazing! Plenty of bang for your buck! ✌️👽

Right on! It’s such good stuff… I’ve barely scratched the surface but listened to some intro playlist and a handful of albums.
