- Ahead of the 2024 Wimbledon championships, Elena Rybakina was the big favorite to not only make the final but win the title. But Barbora Krejcikova had other plans, beating Rybakina in three sets. Jasmine Paolini was thoroughly outplayed by Donna Vekic but still prevailed in an epic three-hour battle.

I'm so happy for Krejcikova because NOBODY was putting respect on her name even though the head to head pointed at her being the clear victor. People talk about Gauff's forehand but we need to talk about Rybakina's too :O which was spraying errors left and right. Also, really happy for Paolini! She has this fire and hunger that I don't see in most of the top women's game. I do think Barbora will win Saturday though!!
Also the way no one sympathized with her injuries and just called her done, washed out and fake Big 4. I can’t wait for BARBIE K to win her 2nd slam ❤❤❤
This is even more confirmed by what Swiatek did on the clay in RG. It's not easy to be the favorite.
@@nonamecommenterBig 4 of what???? Not hating but just not sure what this means .
Well Queen Ryba was so dominant giving Wozniacki bagel sets so she was expected to win this Grand Slam.
Congrats Paolini and Krejcikova..👏 you both did g.I love you both whoever wins..Good luck on ur final game...❤❤🇵🇭🇵🇭
Please don’t call Rybakina a 1 Slam wonder. Remember it took Serena 2-3 years after she won her first GS title to winner second GS title.
Cummon now , that comparison is apples and stones . Serena won her first slam when she was just 17 and it took her till 20 years of age to win her second coz before that she was losing to big sis Venus but the writing was on the wall on who was eventually going to become dominant. Rybakina is already 25 , by average that is when a female player reaches her pick and can start declining 2 years after that , So she might end up with just that Wimbledon title
@@chiefk587 Your statement about Rybakina is pure hogwash! Rybakina won her first GS at age 22, and followed it up by getting to AO final 6 months later. She will win another GS title, just like Krejcikova did today....3 years after her first GS. She is now 28 years of age. Rybakina just turned 25 years old last month.
I am so sorry for Barbora 😢😢😢
Jana must have been an amazing Coach. ( Jana Novatna )
I didn’t see the match today, but caught glimpses of it occasionally. I love Rybakina’s game, and her calm demeanour. However, I totally agree with your assessment of Rybakina today, because I have watched her tennis a lot in the past 2 years. She shouldn’t have lost that quarter final to Paolini either, but she doesn’t show enough fight…enough heart for the battle. As a fan, I’m so disappointed. However there are many things that are more important in the grand scheme of things. Rybakina will rue this loss….at least for a day or 2. It seems she is not a fighter. On the tennis court, we need big fighters because women’s tennis is fraught with danger now. Anyone in the top 50 can win a tournament on any given day. Everyone has upped their game. May the best woman in the day win the final on Saturday.
The start was HILARIOUS
cheers to you man 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I am so happy for Jasmine
The last person to make 2 Grand Slam Finals in a row was Serena Williams
But Donna must be very proud of herself because I think 💭 this is the first time she has made a Grand Slam Semi -Final 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Rybakina is the ultimate choker. Yet another major match lost after winning the first set. Her limited game has reached its peak and notions of further grand slams need to be dismissed.
This match gives me pleasure reminds me of back in the day tennis, wasn’t boring at all
I agree
Vekic stated that her arms and legs were in excruciating pain.
Pain from what? I didn't see her fall in the match.
@@jonfreeman9682It doesn’t have to be from the match, and she’s injury prone which is why she was considering retiring this year
@@jonfreeman9682
She threw her arm out trying to hit winners against Paolini
@@jonfreeman9682 Why do you doubt her discomfort???
How many MAJORS semi-final has Vekic played during her career?
Jasmine's legs killed Vekic's legs
Dude, Vekic was struggling with enormous pain and bursting into tears, that's why she looked "miserable" as you said... 😢
She got injured
Don’t really understand the mocking of Donna Vekic at the start of the video?? She stated in her post-match press conference, that she was in severe pain with her forearm during the match; And you could actually see the black tape/strapping on her arm underneath her long sleeve top during the match.
Agree, poor on Christian didn't know that she suffered enourmous pain while crying 😢
Yet, for her (Donna) having arm pain, she repeatedly served BIG! I didn't see the "mocking" as she was quite emotional and expressed it in the way she needed to let it out.
@@godz4ever404Sorry, you misunderstood, people have been mocking her/making fun of her for getting emotional, which I really don’t like.
@@cameronransome Oh, I see. But we are just finding out that she was REALLY in pain! But it's hard to tell with Donna because she can still play some awesome tennis while dealing with it as well as be "catty" with her box by telling them to "shut up" and "stop talking"! I'm like, "They're trying to HELP you as they're on YOUR side!" But she is an emotional player/person, as well as a kind one (she always takes time to interact with fans etc) but I seriously doubt Christian was mocking her in regards to the severity of her health as we (myself included ) thought she was just having another of her "moments." I don't like seeing women crying (unless tears of joy) over a sporting event! I HATE it! Lol. I just don't understand but that's just me. But anyway; you're right, if knowing someone is injured and/or in pain and one is intentionally and purposely making fun of that, then that is definitely crossing the line.
Barbora had the most difficult draw and her opponents were Collins, Ostapenko, Rybakina. She deserved this finale and she achieved it. I don't agree that she played badly with Ostapenko. The first set was tactically brilliant, played very well, moving Penko left and right. And good service. But Rybakina failed in matches like this, when you are 4-0 you have to be able to win.
Ryba should not be losing to no name players. This is her Grand Slam gifted to her but she loses to nobodies.
@@jonfreeman9682 nobadies Krecikova? Do you think she won the grand slam at Roland Garos in 2021? And in the same year they won the Doubles xd In addition, he has 7 grand slams in doubles on all surfaces xd
If you think that firmer world number 2 and French Open winner Krejcikova is a nobody you know nothing about tennis.
Why are you calling the lady a nobody. That doesn't sound right. If she had played her best she would have won. Someone was better than her today. Never underrate anyone. @@jonfreeman9682
@@jonfreeman9682Barbora isn't a nobody for your information. She has won a Singles Slam FO. and I believe 4 Doubles Slam.
Rybakina is not a 1 slam wonder it took Petra 3 years after her 1st Wimbledon title and Serena around 2 years also to get her next.
Paolini has Alcaraz charisma - loving the next gen
Lol! I was just thinking that myself! I've named them the Prince and Princess of Joy! They just seem to ENJOY and LOVE what they do, always smiling! I'm here for it! 🎉😁🎾💞👏
Paolini is 28 not next gen
i'm sorry to say it but Rybakina's game doesn't have the variety and Krejcikova really showed it to us by her style of playing. There is another thing, I think that Rybakina is really struggling emotionally, is she depressed or something? There is no joy, no laugh, nothing, I know people call her ice queen but I feel like there is something going on there....Is she able to win any big title this year? I say no, this was her biggest chance this year to hold the trophy. Vekic also didin't manage emotionally and she lost it, if she was feeling pain she should take the medical timeout! So about the final, I think if Paolini will play the same like against Vekic she will loose for sure, her serving needs to be on point and she needs to play deep points, if not Krejcikova will destroy her like Iga in RG. There is only one thing which can be against Krejcikova - the fatigue from playing also doubles, but she has Friday off so let's see how it will go.
It's hard to predict who will win, I bet on the Czech. Paulini definitely has a better chance from Kracikova than from Rybakina. Paulini definitely won't be stressed, it showed today and in the RG final.
I'd be more worried for Coco being a one slam wonder than Rybakina. At least Rybakina has the game to win these majors, whereas Coco seems to have plateaued despite her young age. Every great champion will start to flourish soon after they turn pro (Steffi, Seles, Hingis, Serena, Iga) you name them. For this entire year, she's only won one 250 event and defeated only one top 10 player (Ons, who's been in horrible form). We'll see where she ends up after the US swing, that's gonna be her real ranking. I predict Coco will lurk around in the top 10 for her remaining years and forever remain a one slam wonder. Coco got totally destroyed by Emma (whom she beat easily earlier in the year), that shows that Coco is not getting anywhere with her game whereas others are improving. And importantly, her owner Iga is improving each year and will make sure Coco doesn't act up at any time
Rybakina is definitely not a one slam wonder and I mean compare her to other one slam champs like ostapenko or vondursova they stay in the top 10 for a year and after they lose their points they go back to being a at least top 20 player or top 50. Not to mention she still made a 1000s finale (which she should’ve won) and a 1000s semi (where she should’ve won too) but i def think that rybakina cannot handle pressure against some girls that she plays against, she’s very much ons when she is the favorite to win a grand slam final lmao😭 idk maybe it’s a mental block.
Feel sorry for Donna, rybakina disturbs my spirit but I believe the best players won. I think paolini will win. I think she will dominate the tour as there are no consistent big servers on the women's tour now with Serena gone. The final will be interesting.
I was rooting for Ryba vs Paolini in the finals the two most loveable players on tour.
One of the most exciting matches.
I do feel Rybakina's lack of emotions hurts her on many levels. Emotions get you fired up when you are losing. Emotions gets the crowd behind you. I like exciting players. But I also like good players who are quiet but they still show fight! They are hungry. I NEVER see that hunger in Rybakina expressions. When she wins she is boring also. She is an interesting player for sure and not happy. I wonder sometimes if she enjoys playing tennis or is she just playing for the money. The Jasmine and Donna match was a nail bitter right to the end!! Popcorn 🍿 match!! Five stars!!!! I am going with Jasmine to win on Saturday 😊
Ms Psychotherapist (lol); you know we are all "built" differently. That's just who she (Rybakina) is. I'm sure most of the players (perhaps the top ones who can afford it) have a sports psychologist/therapist that they can talk to. But I want them to be authentically and genuinely who they are and not who we would have them to be. I tell folks all the time, "We are perfectly imperfect" and that's okay unless it's harmful to ourselves or others! 🎉💞😁
@@yolandasmith3447 Russians never show that are hungry... poor hungry girl
@@godz4ever404 better check who Rybakina's coach is...
@@maxo1124 Who? The guy she's supposedly dating? I'm not that much in the "know". What's going on? Tell me EVERYTHING! Lol.
Well done.
I understand you're looking for engagement here (so mission accomplished I guess, lol), but characterizing that Barbora comeback as Rybakina fumbling in the clickbait title instead of in terms of BK's problem solving and perseverance feels a bit cheapening. (But I'm talking as a thoroughly sentimental 90s kid who was obsessed with Jana Novotna and was basically crying the rest of her match once the commentator brought up the relationship between Jana and Barbora and the comeback began, so maybe I'm taking it too personally 😆)
Jasmine was too good. 👍😍
Love your analysis on Rybakina, so disappointed in Rybakina a very bad loss opportunity not taking away anything from Krejcikova. Rybakina needs to show more fight . A big lost
Rybakina had highway to final...who she had in draw....(plus one retired)...I knew she would not win (probably had migraine again)
I think people give Rybakina too much credit because she can beat Iga. She has too many losses to people she shouldn't be losing to.
Let's not exaggerate, if you want to be the best, you have to beat the best. Today's top 5 tennis players: Swiatek, SAbalenka, Rybakina Paulini, Coco (: Unless Paulini wins the final, I'll put her ahead of Rybe.

This youtube author pretends to be a tennis person, but is showing his ignorance in calling Rybakina "one slam wonder".
This term is reserved for those who are not coming close to winning the slam in his/her other performances. Myskina, Mayoli, Andreescu, Raducanu are one slam wonders. Each of those players in her second best performance didn't even reach slam semis. Kenin, Sloane, Rybakina, Stosur are definitely NOT one slam wonders. Each of those players already has another slam final appearance in addition to her slam win.
I wanna hear what you will say about your cousin Gauff if she doesn’t make at least a grand slam final this year or win at least a 500 title. I hope you will handle the critic just as how you handled Rybakina here wondering if she’s a 1 grandslam wonder and she’s a 500 merchant. Let’s wait and see
I can't pick a winner, cos they all played sgit 😭. I think I'd like Jas to win though. I'd also want Krej to win, cos I prefer recurring GS winners than one time winning.
We love to talk about how Rybakina is better than Gauff and that Rybakina is more worthy of the number 2/3 spot and honestly I can’t see why other than beating Iga ,Rybakina is losing to people she should have an easy win against and other than winning these 500 titles she hasn’t done well in the 1000’s and has become inconsistent lately.I constantly see people call Sabalenka,Swiatek and Rybakina the big 3 of modern tennis totally dismissing Coco’s presence and disrespecting the amount of work she had to do to get her ranking in the first place. And this match is another example of why rankings are rankings for a reason. But who knows Rybakina might just get to number 2/3 at the end of the year.
Excellent analysis especially about Elena. She needs to get it together quick, fast and in a hurry. I don't want to call her a choker but....
Les stats c'est elle cet année avec swiatek regardé ? Matchs gagne et finales 5. Pas les joueuses qu'on voie un tournoi et qui après son inexistante
This was definitely Rybakina’s best chance to win another slam.
I think she'll have many more opportunities. Ryba is good; I just hope her health holds up. 🙏💞🎾
Paolini "survives".?..no ,she is winning with all "super stars" and soon will be nr2 and nr1
I am so surprised as to ended up in the final. I want JASMINE to win! I love her.❤❤❤❤

@@japomi Streisand?...Kreicikova is Barbora
Nobody said she was a fluke …
Paolini played better than Vekic, sorry.
I think she played better the emotional side of the match, she was motivating herself all the time, trying to turn the crowd on her side and playing well the important points.
She got injured
Rybakina fans are racist haters of Coco so are Sabalenka fans too. Because of their hate they get to watch their girls remain world number 3 and 4 , Paolini might change that by Monday. They are so jealous of Coco ‘s ranking despite Coco being 5/6 years younger. Keep the hate going and Coco will soar in time she’s growing into her body and shots and is far more consistent than Rybakina. The points determine who ultimately holds the top and 2nd spot. I want those fans to wallow in misery. Well done Barbora for shutting down those Eastern European haters and the tennis establishment ha ha ha. I wish them both much luck on Saturday no hate here towards any of them.
Christian you’re wrong I gave this matchup to Barbora because of the head to head and the way she dismantles the Serve Bots. GS are won by the best returner that’s why Novak is number one for years.
Barbora is Eastern European….
I have nothing against Coco as a person, I like her very much, but let's look at the facts about her game. And I'm not a fan of rybakina, I'm from Poland, but I can appreciate her game when she's in shape. It's hard for anyone to beat it. Unfortunately, her play was often inconsistent throughout the season. Gauff is more regular.
I don't care for either Rybakina nor Sabalenka, but your precious Coco is only at No.2 thanks to her lucky run during the US swing last year, after the US Open is said and done, she'll be where she belongs 😂. Coco has already been on tour for 5 years despite her age. She's already plateaued with her game and as soon as she looses that speed she relies on so heavily to win matches, she's done for lol. For this entire year, Coco has only won one 250 event and the only top 10 player she's defeated this year is that washed out Ons Jabeur. She got totally thrashed by that rich American white girl Emma Navarro and threw a tantrum at her team because she was helpless 😆. She's now 1-11 against Iga and only won a total of 2 sets 😅 , talk about pure ownage (and I thought Linco.. had already ...... ........ 🤭)
Oh yeah, great. Another race hustler. Everyone who dislikes Gauff (and Serena Williams before her) must dislike her because of her race. There can be no other reason.
Barbora is not Eastern European unless you think that Germany or Austria are Eastern European. (The Czech Capital Prague is West of Vienna). She is Central European.
Gauff fans clearly dislike Rybakina. Rybakina is a more valid Big 4 player than coco. She has more masters. More titles as well. Coco only has a 250 this year and no finals at other tournaments. RESPECT RYBAKINA 🫡🫡
Gauff is not even in a big anything unfortunately 😂
