I know this is 6 years later, but if you care to understand the swedish here is a video I found with english captions! ruclips.net/video/XU7uTscEMuM/видео.html the timecode for this song is 27:23
Best Judas ever, besides Carl Anderson and Murray Head. I cannot believe how amazing this is, so emotive, torturingly so. This guy is incredible in this role. I keep watching it over and over again.
One of the best performances in the history of theater in my opinion, even without knowing Swedish everyone who's watching knows exactly what Judas was feeling, you did a great job 💜
I discovered this version yesterday thanks to my Swedish friend and I'm in love with this production!!! This Judas chills me to the bone, this almost made me cry! Such a heartfelt act, I'm amazed!!!!! Tack so mycket Peter for uploading the whole show! I am in love!!!!!! Cheers from Spain :D
I showed my dad this production, and he paused it at that moment. I then explained to him the way hanging usually happens onstage in order to calm him down. But for real on the vocals, most performers I've seen either sing with little emotion or scream with no care for sounding good, this dude saw those options and said "both"
This is the best best Judas ever played I think. Did you win any award for this? I just realized this is you, or is it? My god this is incomparable to any other. Even Carl Anderson, you are tops up there with him. I cannot stop watching this.
Thank you for your kind comments Lindsey, I'm glad you like it!! Sweden is quite a small country so we don't have any musical theatre awards as such, and this was only a 28-gig arena tour. It was a dream come true playing the role of Judas though.. I'm a huge fan of Carl Anderson and grew up with his version. :-)
Peter Johansson oh well you deserve all of the awards for this. This is amazing. Thank you for responding to me. You are quite amazingly talented. Thanks again. Xoxoxo.
Peter Johansson oh, well there's other videos of you with long curly hair singing with another guy. Anyway, that doesn't matter. This performance was incredible. Did you win any kind of award for this? This is so amazing. I can't stop watching it. The emotion is so real. You are so amazing. Thank you for responding to me. I am in America. I just discovered you. Long overdue. You are amazing. Amazing. Thanks, Xoxoxo.
Did you ever have long hair? I saw videos of you and that Bruno guy singing and you have long hair and tattoos, and are more rock and roll type. Very hot, but that's all I can find, and now it seems the tattoos are gone. Again, I just "discovered" who you are, and I thought you were more rock and roll, but then "grew up and cut your hair" type of thing. I am just wondering. Was it a part you played? It does not diminish from your talent, I am just wondering. I think your amazing either way. I just love long hair and rock and roll. You should grow your hair out, but if it's not your style, that's cool. You're still amazing. Thanks.
@@Peterj0hansson I thought Jesus's hair was a wig but not yours, idk why. Btw that was indeed the best acting on Judas's death scene I've ever seen, I love it.
This is probably my favorite song from Jesus Christ Superstar, and Peter does such a fantastic job with this song. By far one of the most emotional versions of the song I've seen. Absolutely amazing, Peter!
I don't know if I've commented on any of your other videos but your interpretation of Judas brings a whole new light to the character. I'm only 16 at the moment but my secondary school is holding a cabaret at the end of the school year, and I'm definitely singing one of Judas songs!
I used to sing back when I was in High School, and despite being between a Tenor and Baritone, I never got to get to such higher notes for Judas' notes. Recently, I have been singing more and more of his songs these days and I am noticing that I am hitting his higher notes. I hope one day that I can reach them all, because I would love to do his role. I should still probably think about doing singing lessons, but I must say, I admire how well you do, Mr. Johansson. Wonderful work ^.^. For some odd reason, I think Judas' Death is my favorite song of his, followed by Heaven on Their Minds.
This is amazing, georgeous and simply incredible! You are the best Judas of this musical’s history! The voice, the divine acting, the appearance, everything, I have to watch it again and again. I send love from Czech Republic, you are big inspiration! ❤
I'm in love with this version. I recently watched the 1973 version, and I love that performance, but it's a different interpretation. Judas, in that version, seemed to be stricken with the fear of the responsibility that will hang around him like an albatross for eternity. In this version, it seems to be more a turmoil of love and internal understanding. He almost seems sick with guilt and confusion from 2:50 to 3:05.
Bongiorno! Really like Carl Anderson when playing Judas Iscariot in Dekada 73' and with the different language, still the same Judas voice, Merci for this!
@ 4:04 he looks a bit like David Lee Roth from back in the day. He is so hot here, He did cut his hair though. Sad, but understood, he has other roles to do besides this one. But this one is amazing as amazing can be.
The single most believable version of this scene, imho. He looks like he's genuinely having a complete mental breakdown and is about to commit suicide. It sounds perfect, both anguished and vocally strong. The hyperventilating at the end had me mimicking it. I really just want to offer him a cup of tea, tell him it's okay, and give him a lift to the hospital.
My Swedish friend introduced me to Swedish Jesus Christ Superstar and Peter, you are amazing. The best Judas.
Jace Barry thank you so much 😊🙏☀️
Don't have to understand Swedish to understand the power here!

I agree with you this is fantastic

The best Judas, no doubt.
Al Bonham lol
god damn i love this production, the way he falls through the trap door makes my heart drop 😳 also the VOCALS!!!!

Man, that was so good! I could really feel his anguish.

such luscious hair
also like damn incredible acting and voice but priorities
I looked him up and it Looks like he cut it off. Really unfortunate. I am a hair "whore" heh heh.
It's a wig ;-)

Judas is one of my favorite characters ever and, I gotta say, your take on Judas is something else. So vulnerable and devoted...
Heartbreaking!
Crazy good Judas! I have seen this show 5 times, different Jesus', Judas', Ted Neeley twice, and Peter is right up there with Carl.
Gud vad jag älskar alla JC Superstar låtar du lagt upp! Det var så himla coolt att se det och du är så underbart bra Peter
Watched the full production last night, and I loved it!

Finally, an age appropriate Annas! (Annas is Caiaphas' father)
Father-in-law, actually

Eres el mejor!!
Så himla bra....
Is it me or he really looks like Geralt from The Witcher?
it’s not just you,, I’m glad I’m not the only one Akdkggkkdkdlsf. I think it’s something in the jawline and hair
It’s kinda funny that they sang “Poor old Judas” while the intense music was still playing
Listen close - the movie does the same thing! "Poor old Judas" starts (subtly) while Judas is running up the hill towards the tree.
@@TheAskTrixieChannel
Yup, and when he jumps to death, the music stops and the chorus keep singing.
This is mind blowing and powerful absolutely brilliant
this is the only judas ever actually
Yes. Facts 👏
Goosebumps!
Phenomenal
the second "snälla bespara oss dina bekymmer" *hurts*
love this judas, mwah
Nu saknar vi bara titelmelodin så har vi alla Judas bra låtar! :)
Also, Peter...I love the Elven hair you have in this XD
Hej Peter! :D
En mästerlig Judas!
”Dududududududu BATMAN!Dudududududu BATMAN!”

Back for my Peter fix. Mmm mmm, that's better.......
That guy's still alive right?
Yeah he is
Having the same doubt. lol. That scene is really scary.
Como olvidar cuando Legolas traiciono a jesus y luego se arrepintio por siempre
