This seems to confirm my experience going from stock halogens to the Novas, brighter but all that light was up close to the truck, which resulted in less usable light down the road compared to the factory halogens. I returned the Novas and went back to the halogens
I would not recommend the Alpharex. There's a reason they only come with a two year warranty. I purchased the Nova series for my F150, and a year in the outer LED's in the right side headlight failed. Replaced under warranty. I'm now out of the warranty window, and the left side has the exact same failure. There's no way this is an isolated incident, or I'm just "unlucky". The Alpharex headlights may look nice, but they are not built with components designed for longevity. I'll probably put my original halogen assemblies back in and cut my losses at this point. I'm not going to buy a replacement headlight assembly knowing that it won't last any more than 2 years without issues. This is unacceptable for headlights with this kind of price tag.
Really like the look of my Morimoto XB Gen 2. They look top notch, but very disappointed with the overall performance. For $1,700 I expected more light output with the OSRAM LED chip they got in there. The light color output is blueish at 6500k-7000k, and at night it really underperforms with overall visibility down the road. They are still brighter than stock, but I was expecting more brightness.
@@ddjslhomebase243 turns out my first set was defective and somehow the lenses were not properly aligned, which also contributed to the poor lighting output. The new set is way better. Low bean is actually brighter than OEM LED. The high-bean still the Achille’s hill I think, and struggles a little in very dark roads… specially if it is raining at night. Doing bamby mode helps a lot. This headlight still a top performer IMO. What you should do is add the Morimoto 4banger wide HXB output to the fog lights. It is a winner pairing, and it is what I have on mine. No complains. Now I kinda want an additional pair of 4bangers combo HXB output by the A-Pillar as my high-bean assist for really dark roads.
H7 Bulbs are very good, just don't stick them in projectors and effectively cut off half the light. warmer colors also have A LOT of benefits while driving.
I just got the alpha Rex nova’s….. absolutely love em, style was what got me. Morimoto seemed too blocky for me. Light source can always be upgraded to “better”
Those prices are insane rip offs. I’ve seen factory oem led headlights go for less then those prices. No reason any of those headlights should come with halogens for that price
Testing can change depending on so many different factors - you shouldn't focus on the lux #s as much as you should focus on the differences between those #s in comparisons. For example, a video we made today will have much more refined testing standards than a video we made 3+ years ago in a completely different studio/location.

I have a 2017 F-150 and I don’t know why the 2018 2020 F-150 headlights are cheaper than the 2015 -2017 F-150 🥴, why I don’t know🤷♂️ I’m saving some $ to buy for my 2017 F-150 but for now I keep my Anzo ones. So conclusion: all is garbage just buy top of the line led bulb in stock headlight and adjust a bit the beam and it will blow everything out the water!!!!!!
Headlight revolutions is a very very biased company. Most likely getting paid for their video comparisons. The stock output is nowhere near 1000 lux. I have the AlphaRex Luxx series on my truck and they outshine and out distance any car I’ve come across. There are even videos of f150s side by side, stock halogen, AlphaRex, and then morimoto, the morimoto and alphas are close but both the cutoff and brightness are slightly better on the alphas. And also don’t forget the price 😉

Like they ain't nothing wrong with the morimoto xb they all have their problems
This is why I only buy morimoto. 90% of why I even upgraded headlights was because fords lights are trash.

in the real world and at distance.
