Mrs Telford of Whitehaven has spent ten long years teaching Polly - her slightly sweary parrot - how to sing Nellie Dean. Getting the uncooperative Polly to perform the song in front of Tony Baker and his Nationwide camera crew, however, is quite another matter. Perhaps they'll get the take in another ten years...

I wish tv was like this today! Now it's all hate & fear. They make more money scaring people into watching than just being pleasant.
BBC got to do fun stuff because they didn’t have to make money since everyone pays a licensing fee. Kind of like NPR or PBS, the shows are generally better and more interesting because they’re not slaves to ratings or corporations.
