P. S.: There's lots of evidence that boys' voices broke a good deal later in Bach's time (again, you surely know this), so he was writing his tremendously sophisticated soprano arias (in the cantatas and Passions and Masses) for young men of 15, 16, even 17, who were still sopranos--and who, because of their greater emotional/intellectual development, were that much more sensitive and mature in their musical interpretation. This is a further reason why it's s cool that your voice waited a little longer to change--you can offer us listeners not only an attractive soprano voice, but a more mature performance overall. Thanks, Archie! 🙂
Thank you again. I am lucky that my voice has been slow to change, as I have been able to spend more time exploring the repertoire in the upper registers, before investigating what is in the depths. I am developing some lower notes now but I would not be comfortable to perform in this voice, yet, and my high voice is still there, though not quite so high as it was.
That is a very generous and kind remark! Thank you so much! I am going to miss it, too; I have been singing in this register so long that it will feel very strange when it is no longer available to me.
Many decades ago my voice glissandos from a treble to a baritone. You can not predict how it will change, whist mine was changing I was advised to keep my singing to a minimum.
@@robertjohnson-taylor100 It seems to be different for everybody. At the moment, I am still singing but I know that there will probably come a time when I need to takeva break.
Archie, RUclips just decided I should hear this recording--the first by you I've listened to--and (as a former boy soprano and a big-time fan of both J. S. Bach and boy singers of Bach's music) I'm very impressed. As you surely know, the cool thing about a boy's voice breaking even a little later than normal (I'm going to guess you're a tall 14-year-old--maybe even a 15-year-old?) is that we can hear a boy soprano with more finely developed musicianship, simply because he's a little older! And you are clearly a sensitive, thoughtful musician. So, thanks for this--and I look forward to hearing your next voice, when it appears! (Whoa--given that this video is over a year old, it probably already HAS appeared!)
Thank you for your interesting, kind and perceptive comment (you are right about my age, although I am now a little older!). I really enjoy singing Bach and have moved to some of the alto repertoire. You are also right that I am tall.
Great solo!
Gave a Like before even the song began.. Cannot give a second one.
Thank you.
That was a risk....Thank you!

Magnificent singing, Archie. You have great potential to be a classical singer.👍👋✌
Thank you! I am hoping....
cool
I have not sufficient eloquence to describe your excellent voice, only to say I’m jealous. I shall truly miss it when your voice changes.

Thank you so much!
I'm curious because you said he's 15. Is his speaking voice deeper and he's singing in falsetto?
clear as a bell! Well done!
Thank you, as ever!

What a great song, great voice control. May I ask how old you are?
It is kind of you to say this. I am now 16 but this was from a rehearsal a year ago.
Glorious voice, Archie! Very well sung. Can’t wait to get your solo album soon. When is it going to arrive??
Thank you! We are waiting for it to be pressed and printed and hope this won't take too long.
@@archieomwhite9147 That's great! Can't wait!!
Excellent! How old was Archie when he recorded this? Thanks.
Thank you for commenting. He was/is 15.
