    Little tip, wrap the tape in the same direction as you turn the fitting to tighten.

    Awesome job! We just did this per your vid and parts list, thx! We had to buy the other heater listed thermomate...does your campflux shut off after 20mins as a safety feature? Or can it run straight for 3hrs - Our 16L Thermomate shuts off every 20mins?

    Does the excess pressure caused by the water restriction from starting at 1.25" hose and going to .5" hose hurt the pump? I know the pump will work harder...but how much harder?

    How much propane does an 8’ stock tank use to heat up? I can’t seem to find this information anywhere! Trying to decide whether to go the propane or natural gas route. .

    I took the plunge into stock tank hot tubbing using a 150 gallon Rubbermaid tank.
    Was going to use an electric heater like your original video but determined it would take too much to provide 20amps sufficient to run in my remote yard location. Tried the Camplux but was using a lot of propane to keep up with the sub zero temps her in the KC region, and constantly having to replace tanks was a chore.
    I have now gone all in with a Rinnai outdoor 120,000 btu natural gas heater after running a 1" underground gas line 90' from the meter.
    When i first unboxed the heater, written in bold letters on the box was "not for use as spa or pool heater". There was no notation on the Amazon listing to that effect.
    When I researched why. it is because chlorine and or bromine are corrosives that will affect the life of the tankless.
    That started my search for any alternative to using any corrosives to sanitize my water.
    Who knew I'd need a degree in organic chemistry to keep my water safe, so down the rabbit hole of all the different products and claims for spa sanitation. Test strips, shock, Ph reducer ,Ph increaser, alkalinity balancer, chlorine or bromine?
    Apparently some amount of either of those corrosives cannot be avoided, but at this point my goal is to try to keep it as low as possible while keeping it as simple. Not only for preserving the tankless but for my skin. Have you ever tried a CR ionizer? A whole video could be devoted to sanitizing the stock tank hot tubs!

      Hi, we’ve had a 300 gallon 6’ round stock tank hot tub for 8 years heated with a Chofu thermal syphon heater. Use a paddle instead of a recycling water pump. Use only 35% hydrogen peroxide to keep it clean. Sponge bath clean before going in. Drain and refill about every 3 months. UNFORTUNATELY cannot buy these heater anymore😢

      9 months later have gone with the Camplux outdoor natural gas heater which has performed flawlessly. I'm still wrestling with the treatment chemicals, the bromine level is either not showing on the test strips or too much. When it tests ideal it only lasts one day. Thanks to your video for inspiration I've built an awesome little tub. I'll post a RUclips vid sometime. My bubbler is the best.

    A couple questions I hope someone will answer.
    How long do you run your filter a day to keep up with maintenance and a basic starting temperature?
    How do you keep the outer components from freezing in cold weather? We would like to do this in Ohio.
    And, doesn’t the fabric on the outside of the tank get gross with the rain and snow?

    Appreciate all the information and links. I'll be contacting my plumber but was curious about the portable natural gas tankless water heater. Currently I have a natural gas outlet on the back porch that connects to my Weber gas grill. Would this line be sufficient to power the natural gas portable tankless water heater? Haven't seen that question asked anywhere...

    • @StockTankPool
      @StockTankPool  3 года назад

      Oh interesting! That's definitely something to try out. The only thing I'd know to check is to make sure the tankless heater is made for the outdoors, assuming that's where you'd be putting it. I'm no plumber though!

    Hey there! In the process of turning my stock tank pool into a hot tub! I originally had an intex1000 but it didn’t seem strong enough to push through the Camplux 10L. Thoughts? All my attachments are pretty much the same as yours but the Camplux does not stay lit

    • @slickslife5283
      @slickslife5283 3 года назад +1

      Hey there! We used another external pump (Seaflow water pressure pump) to push the water into the Camplux. That works great! When our Camplux would stop lighting we figured it was a malfunction so we returned it snd got a new one. No issues since then.

    Hi! We loved our stock tank all summer and wanted to convert our 6' tank into a hot tub.
    We have the camplux 10L and in 6-7 hours it went from 50 to 75F... what am i doing wrong?

    • @slickslife5283
      @slickslife5283 3 года назад

      @Taeko Frost Ours takes a long time too. We had to stir it every half hour to really mix up the hot water with the cold bottom water. We also haven’t insulated the tank and I think that will really help too.

    • @HEYWANDERER
      @HEYWANDERER 3 года назад

      Yes, the insulation is really important! We also have the 16L tankless heater, so that heats water faster than the 10 L.

    So, we have installed our Camplux (we went with the 10L) and we had it going and heating up nicely, but after about an hour and a half, two hours it stops heating. Just isn't lit and doesn't seem to be able to relight. We've tried it two days in a row and it stops. Not sure what's going wrong. We get it from 66-68 up to almost 84 and it stops. We contacted Camplux to see if we might be able to troubleshoot with them further. Really hoping to enjoy the pool as a Hot Tub soon!

      What pump do y'all have? Sounds like there isn't enough water pressure since the pump only turns on and off depending on water pressure. But also if it keeps doing it, might really be something wrong with the heater.

      Stock Tank Pool We are using this pump (SEAFLO 33-Series Industrial Water Pressure Pump w/Power Plug for Wall Outlet - 115VAC, 3.3 GPM, 45 PSI). It seems to be running steady, it’s just the Camplux won’t stay lit. We are going to return and try a new one and see how that goes.

      Stock Tank Pool Thanks for the research, I did remember hearing something about the pump doing that but hmmmm, or issue isn’t with the pump turning off. It seems the heater itself turning off then reigniting then turning off. The pump isn’t stopping at all. My husband sat with it the whole time this afternoon to see what happened. So odd!!

    • @brendenrussell5724
      @brendenrussell5724 3 года назад +1

      Thank you for the response! Out of curiosity, how long typically will it take to bring the temp up to 103-104? and if you did not want to use the heater do you just turn your pump on like normal w/o the heater turned on?

    • @StockTankPool
      @StockTankPool  3 года назад

      @@brendenrussell5724 You can run the pump with the heater batteries turned to off and it will run. I will say that unconnecting the heater and reconnecting your old hose is better because the heater slows down the pressure. For me it only takes about 1 minute to change the connections and helps the pump run better, so it's worth it.

    Another tip, the gas connection should have the yellow Teflon tape which is specific for that connection. The white Teflon tape is for water connections only.
