    *I've forgotten some little details:
"especially NO HOT water" and to only use COLD water WITH vinegar or hydrogen peroxide"
    I hope it all helps!
    Enjoy :)

Excellent video. I've gotten into the habit of using a separate swab to clean the joints so I don't introduce cork grease residue into the interior of the instrument.

Stephen Broll Yes this is a great idea and I totally suggest it (but I’m too lazy to do it each time) 😅🙏🏻

The upper part has a lot of keys, that are shut in normal position. Under the keys there can hide a lot of water even after swabing. After disassembling, I use to hold the upper part with my left hand as normal, seal the bore with my right palm, and blow through the bore, while opening all the keys one after another. (Don't forget to swab after this procedure once again ;)

Yes, I'll make another video about the "water in the holes" because there're many ways to clean them ( I already showed one actually in my previous video) But I dedicated this video only for the swabbing :)

Interesting video ! However I don't really agree about the mouthpiece : I swab it after every use since I started to play the clarinet (that was about 40 years ago !), of course I had several different mouthpieces since then, but each one of them I kept maybe about 5 to 10 years, and cleaning them with the cloth never caused any damage or problem what so ever.
I heard some people saying that, but as in practice I never experienced any consequence, it seems to me that it is just superstition !
No problem either with using tap water to clean it, and I even sometimes I use some cleaning liquid for dishes (of course not with a scratchy sponge for obvious reasons), it is absolutely harmless.
Vinegar is good indeed to remove limestone traces.
There is however one thing to avoid absolutely : hot water. Warm (around 37°C) is perfectly fine, but very hot water will make your mouthpiece turn from black to brown (I did that mistake once) !

Hi, thanks for the advices, I didn't know the right way! I have a problem in these days, which is I'm not motivated and I don't study because of this... Do you have any advices?
    Thanks for everything!

    •  4 года назад +1

Hey Luca! I'm happy you get some info thanks to my video. It happens that we loose sometimes the motivation, we're human being. You could go around some applications such as Tomplay, Metronaut App or Cadenza Live and play some pieces with the accompaniment. Or discover some new pieces and sight read!

How did you decide what is right and wrong?! Not sure about your way of swabbing. It's a popular fact, that mostly the upper joint forms condense from the warm air. Which means that you spread the humidity all the way down to the bell, and also wet the holes, which were to this point more or less dry. If you swab from bottom up (which is wrong according to you) you remove it from dry-to-wet direction, which is more logical. Not to mention that the lower joint doesn't even wet sometimes! Cheers and indulge!

    •  4 года назад +1

Let's say I decided based on years of experience :) Plus, almost all of my former professors have mentioned the same. I have water already everywhere in my clarinet after not even half an hour of practice... In my opinion the logic isn't only drying/wiping the clarinet but doing it on the way of water. So that you avoid to get more water in the holes, too. It's recommended to protect the wood. Ofcourse it's not the end of the world if you swab on the other way around, but I think it's important to know how to prevent unwanted things happen (such as getting often too much water in the holes, swab gets stuck inside etc ). I hope this is more clear now 😊 Cheers 💕

To clean the mouthpiece, instead of vinegar or peroxide I use lemon juice/water: less malodorous than the others and just as effective.

I usually do not use my swan to clean the joints but another cloth. This is due to the cork grease.

Je viens de trouver cette vidéo sur le nettoyage du bec, par Vandoren. ruclips.net/video/6UK8Uh6l57k/видео.html

    •  4 года назад +1

    • @websoupe
      @websoupe 4 года назад +1

    •  4 года назад +1
