People who have never had the opportunity to sit somewhere in the country on a clear summer night and listen to a rumbling train in the distance are missing one of the most peaceful experiences in life. That lonesome horn seems like it's calling out for someone, and that rumbling steel is just so hypnotic. All I can say is I'm glad I'm from the country and live close to a railroad track. Southern living is just so much simpler.

The first time i fell in love, with my best friend..we took off from a party, as best friends, until we got to the river alone and made love under the train bridge as the train went by...he died 2 weeks later..this song is EVERYTHING to me...and dont waste time on love...we had been best friends since we were kids...i got 2 weeks...cherish every moment

Me and my boyfriend who has been passed 2 years now.. We lived about 2 or 3 mintues from the tracks... We use to walk up toward the tracks and set from a distance and just watch it go by... We just loved to hear the sound of that in the summer.... Such good memories.... Miss those days now... Thnx for sharing...

This song just makes me happy,
it’s one of the ones that used to come on the radio all the time when I was younger. My parents always had on this type of stuff. I didn’t like some of it, but honestly, this song SLAPS. These semi-old songs give me a feeling I can’t describe too well, a mix of nostalgia and something else I guess.
I feel old... my parents used to play classic Alabama when I was young.. my first concert was the farewell tour.

i was out riding my dualsport tonight and i found this random dirt road, so i rode down it a while and what do you know it was right next to the train tracks and a long ass train came racing by so i turned off the bike and just watched the train and the stars, i now understand why jason aldean made a song about the night train.

I have to agree with you Frank. A person can choose to like or dislike this song, or any song for that matter, regardless of what they believe. Political affiliation is irrelevant. I myself am a conservative, but I have friends who aren't. We choose to look past our differences, and see the things that we have in common, and the things we enjoy. In this case, we should look past politics and enjoy the song.
