I can understand why Brooke felt a little bored as Claire but I think what made her character work was that her “adult” personality contrasted perfectly with everyone else’s over the top craziness. Even the actual adults characters were over the top

Claire Saywer Future Farmer! I love that Brooke discovered something that made her happy and fulfilled. And also even when she was younger she was worried people didn't like her only to find out they were crushing on her and thought she was cool. Hope her younger self healed when she heard that. She had the right idea of hanging out with puppies. I would do the same thing. I'm so happy she is doing well.

Love this pod, what a wonderful guest. I grew up in CA and moved to a small island off of CT in 2013. I will never find a higher love than working with and providing love, to plants and nature in general. My favorite edible herb in Borage, miss lil cucumber tasting blue flower. I remember my Environmental Science teacher taking us on a hike and going "foraging" for the first time in CA. When he ate random "weeds" from around campus I really thought he was gonna die from eating something that grew out of dirt. How wrong we are for creating this disconnect. From lemonade made pink with grape hyacinth--I met the cycle know as God through working with his wares. Generation, Organization, Destruction. My island started a community garden 3 years ago and we have a harvest festival every end of October now. Its hard to imagine, a life before this! I swear living in CA gave me plant blindness. Even though I grew up with five fruit trees in my CA home...I still looked at them as products, not living things
Can't agree with the snow thing though-Its still beautiful 10 years later-To see snow on the beach.

Devon, I just need you to know that I recently bought a used vehicle with no aux/bluetooth connections, just a CD player. I dug through my old homemade mixtapes from when I was, like, 16, and popped a random one into my car. The first song that played was If Eyes Could Speak 🥹 I’ve been listening to this podcast like crazy lately and I thought it was so funny that the song randomly reentered my life at the same exact time. My mom gave me more attention as a child than my 2 years younger brother because I was diagnosed with aspergers. Sometimes I got more/better gifts, and he resents me to this day 20+ years later, though it wasn't my fault, I got the better treatment. It's a tough thing to deal with even when I don't hold any hate towards him
