Neil Peart certainly announced himself on the Fly by Night album. The drumming was off the charts from the get-go, and Sterling covers these incredible songs beautifully. Very cool to see this.
I just happened upon this. Often, Rush drum covers are at best an attempt. But you nailed this! It was superb! You motivated an old Neil "student" to get back to practicing. Thanks.
It's amazing to think how all of this stuff was basically written on the road, during the first tour when they barely knew each other. Add to the fact that they were just kids. . Sterling! You are the coolest bro. Thank you for always uploading these outstanding covers. I know how much work goes into not only learning the arrangement, but also micing everything and the arduous task of making sure you play flawlessly the way Neil did every single night for us.
This album is so fucking cool! Rush Rush is a great album...but, rush fly by night is a epic and awesome album! Tks Sterling for this great drum cover!
Sterling! THANK YOU FOR KEEPING RUSH ALIVE FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS. The actual first time I heard this was on Exit Stage Left which is an amazing album. Excellent job! I commend you for your dedication and incredible work! Doctor David
Dude, you made me go back and listen to the album version to check is you were playing this correctly... I'm so used to hearing this on the Exit stage left video that I kinda forgot the original. As usual, you blew me away!
I've seen most of your videos and you always blow me away. I would love to have you as a drummer in my band. I imagine the offers are coming in and you will be in super high demand.
Neil's first song as lyricist...realizing RUSH will never perform again, if they were going to, they'd do well to give you a call, eh ? As involved ( complicated ) as Neil's drumming ( arrangements ) were/was/is, the Neanderthal in me would suggest hitting the skins as hard as a hillbilly would his third cousin...or ex wife.
Sterling is the gold standard of Rush drum covers...
Great jam bro
Outstanding!
Phenomenal..
