    I did do the salting bait and it worked a treat. Went to do some beach fishing and was great. No Esky for bait to carry around. Now I have to try this. Thank you for another great footage. 👍

    Thanks, I salted my squid yesterday before watching this today. Didn’t think to do a double container with holes for moisture, ended up pouring liquid off the top every half hour 🤦🏻‍♂️ crazy how much liquid was floating on top
    Gonna go get some new containers and do it your way 😃

      Should last for 2 weeks in a cool, dry spot. You can freeze it as well.
      Thanks for watching.

    Very helpfully video man! Quick question, can I use non iodized pink salt?

    • @ReefJunkiesFNQ
      @ReefJunkiesFNQ  7 месяцев назад

      Not sure about pink salt, stick with white salt. You can use pool salt, works out cheaper.
      Thanks for watching.

    is alright to salt and leave it in the freezer for a year? I visit South Florida and the keys once a year to visit my in laws and I freeze whatever bait i have leftover down there before coming home.

      Should be ok as you have already preserved the bait with salt. Thanks for watching.

    Mate, awesome video thankyou. I do have a question. Would this process work for frozen bait once it's thawed? FYI I am the worse fisherman on the planet. Thankyou

    • @ReefJunkiesFNQ
      @ReefJunkiesFNQ  Год назад +1

      Thanks for watching. Yes, if thawed and bait struggles to stay on hook, salt them up, and that will toughen them up.

    • @ReefJunkiesFNQ

      Hi, the maximum time would be 2 weeks but you can also freeze it. Thanks for watching.

    Hello sir, thank you for your video.
    For squid, fish, shrimp and shellfish, should I take fine salt rather than coarse salt?
    So I let it sit for 24 hours in the fridge or outside?
    Afterwards, if I have a lot of them, can I put them in the freezer or put them in sachets with salt in my cupboard?
    Thanks🙂🙋‍♂️👍

    • @ReefJunkiesFNQ
      @ReefJunkiesFNQ  Год назад +1

      Hi, sorry for the late reply. You can use fine or course salt, the result will be the same. You could use pool salt if you want. Let sit for 24 hours in a cool dry place. The bait will be ready for use and won't be necessary to refrigerate for a week. You can freeze for a later fishing trip. Hope this helps and good luck fishing.

      Thank you sir for the feedback and your explanations.
      Can I make sachets with salted bait and store them in my cupboards for several months?
      Thanks again🙋‍♂️👍
